The adhesive often breaks and if it does for anyone reading this do not try to pull the battery out it could explode. Put drips of Isopropyl alcohol around the side of the battery, wait a minute or so then pry up a little, put dental floss underneath and slowly go from bottom to top to unstick the adhesive then you can pry it up without damaging the battery.

@@jakovrajic1160 it was only a little difficult bc you have to use a suction cup and pry it apart without breaking but I’ve done it multiple times. You just have to be careful.

Mine says SE right on the back. But it is different than this. I don't want to damage this. There is no cable for the bottom button. and only one cable at the top for the screen. And the area next to the battery is completely covered with black plastic. Where can I get info on this specific version?

@@mattgoodwin-king2228 Sorry I didn't get back on this. I have been being careful with this as I didn't want to destroy it. The owner of the phone had been told it was junk apparently after the battery went bad? So if it got ruined maybe not a total loss. I found that although I had followed instructions I got I had opened it with the wrong layer! When I pulled off the rest it was just like this inside and I got the battery changed. It started up and displayed fine but the report I have is that the apps are not opening. I will see when they get back from their vacation. Thanks.

Two what about the dust/waterproofing seal? I didn’t see anything done with that and I thought that was a whole separate step in the repair process.
Well with New ios , you will get an error message, which you can close in the settings ( this is common for any replacement part in iPhone now). , Yes we missed that part, But please note that willl not protect your device from any sort of liquid.Once you open, it is gone unless you go with the service store repair.

You have to put the replacement seal on when you have the screen detached. The seal came with my replacement battery kit.

I have an iPhone SE and the screen suddenly shut off and is not responding. Force restart is not working, it’s not dead, and I’m worried that when I’ve dropped it, it has slowly popped the cable that connects the battery out of the socket. Could that be the issue? I really don’t know what else the problem is, although my mother is absolutely convinced that I downloaded some bug or software virus into my phone.
I feel like even a virus or software crash would not make my phone absolutely unresponsive. I had an iPad that died while updating, and it is stuck on the Apple logo of death, and we just figured there was a software issue in that iPad, but even if it was a software issue in my phone, it would as least show the logo, right?
Cable might be loose. You can secure it and check how it goes.if you have a back up you can try to restore the phone back. Even for the iPad, you can always go to Dfu mode and restore the OS

Well waterproofing won't work for DIY / Third Party repairs. Only repairs from apple will cover this. Someone can argue waterproofing seal maybe help. But it is not entirely true.

We replace a genuine battery, so there was no message. But as per apple, it should come for non-genuine, but the notification will pass to the settings menu. This means it is not visible or creating any other issues.

Yodaismycopilot yes, in some ways it is. Glass is more durable, it won’t break as easily as plastic, or get scratched up like plastic would.

all good but water and dust resistant adhesive is a must before you close... Even when you take it to Apple they skip that step and it is so annoying.

The two cables are super sensitive. Dont think of taking the shortcut not removing them.
I wish I had followed this video before replacing my battery. I followed another instruction where they did not disconnect the cables. Which caused me to accidentally tear the camera cable when I removed "the cheese tape" from the battery adding €10 extra to the work and headache 😅

Glad I watched your video. The 1st video that showed up on my CZcams for Battery Replacement for the SE 2nd Gen model, the guy disassembled the entire iPhone.
But since I remembered catching your video about 2 weeks ago, it was easy to find it again...
So Thank You @Geardo. for not creating such a complicated video like the other channel decided to do. I wasn't interested in disassembling an iPhone in order to replace the battery...

Thanks for watching the video. It is a good practice to remove the screen and keep it aside. Otherwise can damage the screen or cables.
Remove screen. The cables are super sensitive and you can break the camera one so so easy. A lot of ppl have made that mistake by trying to take a short cut.

Well two things coming to my head. first back up via iTunes and then install fresh ios via DFU mode. ( since you can't go to settings, this is the best way), if not i will try replacing a new battery. Sometimes a bad battery can keep rebooting the device too. Also , try with to charge a phone with a different cable and adapter..i will try these and then go for the other options..

you should NOT place the adhesive sticker too long that will sticked on the wireless charging component, which will destroy the wireless charging pad when you change battery next time

I'm pretty sure the Gen 2 does not support wireless charging.

Ad 1, you reconnected the connectors in the wrong order, the battery connector should be reconnected as last. Ad 2, you missed the sealing, so the phone will not be waterproof after this replacement.

As the devices ages, the battery is ageing as well. But do not charge in between. always charge the device when it goes to 20% or less and also avoid exposing to the heat too much.
Try not to keep battery under 20% or charge over 90%.

Have an iPhone SE2020 and Apple lied to me in their advertising. They told me new I should be able to get over 8 hours use. I never did. Not even half that amount. And now I have a battery capacity of 88% according to the IOS but the battery drains at 1% per 2 min or worse. That gives me a max time of 200 min or 3hr 20 min time between full charges. I've called Apple support repeatedly. They have asked me to upgrade the iOS which I did and guess what. No improvement and now a slew of other issues. Apps crashing or freezing. Apps dissapearing. Still have the battery drain issue. Now the percentage bar will just freeze on certain values. The entire phone froze today while I was attempting a workout. I really hate apple. They build in planned slowness in the phones through upgrades to software. Everyone knows it. Why is Tim Cook not in jail for this as a result of repeated deception and dishonesty?

also get an adhesive for the frame of the phone unlike this person because without the adhesive in between the frame and screen of the phone dust is gonna be the inside of your phones best friend and forget about that water resistance
You are correct in using an adhesive. You have to find an original adhesive for this to protect the water seal and a machine to press the screen. Regarding the dust, well, from our experience, maybe 5% impact, but things can still be changed due to the environment and the way uses.

Now show everyone how the phone warns you it's not a valid replacement part, and won't give you battery health anymore.
Always a non repair from apple or authorized place will have that issue, unless use a machine to remove the message or do necessary steps needed. Even that sometimes have issues after iOS updates.

For anyone using this instruction video step by step, there is a dangerous error in the workflow. ALWAYS! disconnect the battery BEFORE disconnecting the display. If the display is on, you can blow up the backlight circuitry easily and you do not want to fiddle around in your phone when it is connected to the battery anyway. When you are done, the last step is to reconnect the battery.
At 01:22 the battery is disconnecting, and 01:28 LCD and Touch.The flow is accurate in our guide. As per the video ,the best thing is to turn off the phone at start.Thanks for sharing your Tips.
