Howdy, So I picked up all the items you have listed here but I am having trouble getting the ends to fit in the cord ends. They say these cord ends fit up to 4mm cord. But I bought 2mm line and there are 4 strands I need to insert, so the math comes out to 8mm. Any tips that might help me get to the end zone?
We suggest binding the ends with tape or a thin thread.
Can this be done with leather cording as well? Has anyone tried it with leather cording?
We have not tried but we have seen it can be done. The leather cording would need to be round cord.
Hello Kat, I saw your great tutorial and rushed and brought Chinese knotting cord eager to get going, but I've totally got the wrong size 0.08mm 😟 .. is it possible to do this or similar with 0.08mm ? Thanks Kelly
Hey Kelly, depends on what you want to do. If you want to make these earrings in this size I'd suggest returning the cord you bought and getting 2mm cord. 0.08mm is awfully small for this technique. However on the off chance what you've got is actually 0.8mm cord (In other words cord that's almost a millimeter thick) you might consider making similar earring by doubling the number of strands in your knot. It'd be a bit of an experiment but it might work. This knotting style is pretty flexible and I've seen projects which use the same knot with more cords laid alongside to bulk it up.
