    There are always a couple of things that take away from the immersion, like how they talk about them in these exo-suits but not a few minutes later it talks about their hair being blown in the dry wind.

      @a-blivvy-yus Před 7 dny +1

      Given that we have modern exosuits that are open-faced rather than a fully sealed mecha design, this objection isn't really an immersion breaker. On the other hand, the guy reading "alien gun" in a way that implies it to be a gun that fires aliens, instead of a gun of alien origin, is a bit offputting, as are a few of the other mispronunciations in the audio.

    If the force shield is even semi-transparent, radiation can probably pass through.
    Focus on EMP and radiation weapons. Either the shield will come down, or you may kill everything inside, and leave the shield intact.

    • @AenVegra
      @AenVegra Před 7 dny

      I have a lot of sci-fy races and writings.
      Each of them have their own shields and such.
      In the case of the Erabians, they have huge, bubble shields that repulse kinetics, trap particles and plasma between the membranes, scatter lasers/beams, and they use their shields as weapons. They burn targets, evelop them to fire beams that resonate off the shields for amplifcation (molecular deconstruction), and generally eat targets alive.
      Their weakness, incidentally, is things like nuclear warheads. Not the shockwave or the particles, nope, alpha particles and stuff are still caught by the shield-but the enormous amount of X-rays and diffuse high-energy radiation. Basically, you can't get a laser *beam* through the shield, but a spray will still come through. Like sunbeam through a cloud, more or less. Depending on the power and the charge and other factors, the shield's plasma membranes will react with more powerful beams and scatter them.
      However... Large doses of raw hard-radiation will get past. It's like a curtain. It scatters all, blocks up to a percentage, and the rest... bleeds through.
      Usually around 20-60% is blocked. Which is why Erabian ships have hulls that are very electromagnetically absorptive. To try and cover the weakness in their shield tech.
      Yan, on the other hand, just have *the goat* in terms of shields. Then again, they are the greatest of all time in basically all tech fields. They're the ancient race that sort of... everybody wants to see. And are rather... rare. They're uber powerful for good reason, and are supposed to be the 'strongest but least abundant' in the setting. Their shields stop all kinetic attacks at 1/100th energy expenditure (energy required to negate the energy of the projectile) basically trivializing railguns and coilguns.
      They block particle weapons with slightly less but similar efficiency.
      Beam weapons or exotic particle weapons or even all sorts of plasma weaponry still only gets 1/10th of the energy required to negate it.
      The only thing that's 1-1 is basically weapons that tear open the space-time continuum. That's *it*.

    This is the first video I've seen where the person speaking at the beginning of the video doesn't sound like the same voice as the reader of the story in the video. And the reading sounds like it's being done by an AI, which sucks when not doing that has been a positive element about your channel. Also, the story reads like it was probably (though not definitely) written by an AI, and could definitely have used a competent editor to go over it. Assuming the reader was human, there were some issues with how they pronounced words and phrases in several instances, getting the wrong word in place of the one that was written or using a tonal shift that suggests a drastically different meaning from the one that fits the context of the story.
    Disappointed because while some of your other stories have sounded like they might have been AI writeups, they haven't been as close to the "maybe" line as this one is, and the reading does it no favours, making it seem even more like AI-generated content than it already does.
