    That's okay, I'm sure all 5 had factory installed 5k worth of Lo-Jack, Window Etch, mandatory Anti-Theft and some other bullshit that dealers add on to MSRP. Goes to show none of that crap works. Shame that Dodge made it so easy for these guys to open and start vehicles without even having some kind of key fob signal boosters that car thiefs normally use. This should be scary to owners of new Dodges, even if you put your key fob in a faraday box far away from the vehicle, it seems a thief with this tech will have no problem starting and driving off straight out of the driveway, probably have no trouble opening the garage door too.

    • @aahsigh8706
      @aahsigh8706 Před 11 měsíci

      I could be wrong but a loophole by taking advantage of onstar like roadside assistance on call operater service. I suspect the laptop is to get every diagnostic info ( via app)on each vehicle to match every vehicle . It easier than the cell phone screen cluster. The other is cellphone sync to each vehicle and since all key fobs are close range inside the shop then the roadside assistance can unlock each vehicle hands free( unknowingly) opens the locked doors. The key fobs are communicating 24/7 when not asleep(BMW).The cellphones are activated via app or other( I'm no expert) when the app is used. A co worker ( not likely) but I likely suspect is a trusted customer acted covertly during car shopping. I'm no expert.

      @@cristianm6706 market price is the price dealers charge. they make a small amount because they get cars at wholesale. Generally 6-12% less then MSRP. Dealership make the bulk of their money on used cars, and maintenance. They give you 5k for a trade in and sell it for 12k. Maintenance is also a huge markup. A water pump for my chevy was $220. The dealer wanted to charge me $1200 to fix it. I watched a YT video and i did it myself with tools from walmart. under $300.....

    • @imcertainlygay8680
      @imcertainlygay8680 Před rokem +5

      They used the laptop to unlock and drive the cars by copying the key fob signal that was left inside unprotected.
      To prevent this, they make little pouches to put ur fob in that blocks the signal👍
      But in the case of the dealership he must’ve left his fobs somewhere near where they were setup, they only have a range of about 200 feet.

The people that you really need to blame are the car manufacturers that have made is so easy for thieves to steal cars. When will the government step in and say enough is enough car theft is costing everyone money. The government should step in and put new requirements in place on the car manufacturers to make it more difficult to steal cars.

    • @q8fly.
      @q8fly. Před 2 lety +1

      Kill switch on old cars is a good thing. But with new cars you have to reprogram/reset every time you reconnect the battery. Such a hassle

    well technology.. everyone want those fancy digital key cards instead of a good ol trusty lock and key. Its obviously not right, and those guys are bound to get locked up, but dare i say better the dealership than peoples cars out on the street. Dealers have theft insurance. Average car owners dont.

    Called ToughBook! It's just as a scanner that shops use for diagnostic or performance. It's sold off tool trucks. That's how locksmiths reset keyfob of keyless start.

All I do is hook up a laptop with the right software I can start the car access all the computer information in less than a minute you could even program two brand new remotes in under 3 minutes .

    This dude has 5000 cars and he’s crying about being ‘violated’ about 5 cars that his insurance covers. He’s actually gonna make out better than if he sold them.
    Then this one lol - “Wow the audacity of people, like how can you???” - Meanwhile, he’s selling those cars for 30% over their value through 5-20% financing rates.
