Remember this vividly as Radiohead at the very peak of their powers. A lot from both The Bends & Ok Comp. Plus a brilliant new record to promote. Got the whole concert on bootleg haha.
i remember when that first came out. Still remains the best version of the song. In rainbows was amazing but all the songs on it were much better being played live than the versions released in the end.
agreed. I am very attached to this version, even with the accident in the middle. love the dominance of the piano, which was lost a bit in the studio version.
Oh yes. I love some of the studio tracks, but my heart is with live versions that I downloaded and listened to in college, waiting in anticipation of the studio release. Such great atmosphere and groove they, for whatever reason, chose not to invoke for the album
What do you have against Videotape, it’s one of my favorite tracks of all time, I’ve noticed a lot of people seem to not like it as much, just interested in your thoughts
@@calebdickerson2003 he never said he had anything against Videotape, just that he preferred this to it. On your note though, I really love Videotape, and yeah, I also don’t understand why it’s overlooked or deemed inferior to other tracks on the album, but to each their own, I guess.
@@calebdickerson2003 The live versions of videotape are a lot stronger than the stripped down album version IMO. I'd have liked to have seen a similar version of this track included on the album rather than Faust Arp or All I Need, but now I'm just dreaming.
I just realized how weird it is to see Ed play acoustic!
i know im late but he is like a dad who plays his son instrument
Rare to see Ed playing acoustic guitar
Is that Phil doing backing vocals? Fucking awesome.
Absolutely phenomenal. Packed to the brim with emotion.
Hylton E: Ed with acoustic guitar it's like a Glitch in The Matrix))

Yes, you are correct

Anyone get a Spiritualized vibe from this song?
Totally puts me in a zone. Love the groove.
wicked song
Beautiful
i would have preferred this over videotape to end disc one
interesting thought....

I remember predicting this would be the closer, and I was bummed about how the studio recording turned out

This song along with down is the new up really should have made cut on in rainbows rather than the b sides special edition
Much like Videotape...the original live versions are so much better.
I'm only discovering them now, and it's a little bit tragic to hear how the album could have been.

@@actuallythepie Yes, every single Radiohead song would benefit from being just a Phil solo. You are correct.
