Bro, you are doing a great job getting the Aventurer 5M knowledge out to the people. I bought an Ender 3 Max Neo last November on a Black Friday deal and began my 3D Printing journey. After multiple upgrades to that printer, in Feburary I bought the A5M. Since then I have bought one more for my home and one for my classroom. I found your content pretty much since your first Aventurer 5M video and it has been so helpful to learn this printer along with your content. I just made the Spider-Man wall art and also just recieved my set of nozzles to try those out. Keep doing what you are doing and I look forward to more content.
Thanks a lot! I think it's awesome you're bringing 3D printing into the classroom. More schools should do this. I really think this is one of the best underrated and affordable 3D printers out there. I'm happy to hear it's catching on.

Thanks for doing all of these 5M videos. You were the 1 that helped sway me to get 1. Loved it so much I now have 2. These things are total work horses and imo just as good if not better then my 2 Bambu printers as far as quality goes. These new updates are awesome and work great for me so far. Going to experiment with 1 and try some PETG. Have not used PETG before, any helpful hints or tricks or just use the basic profiles? Thanks again and keep up the great content.
A multi material station would be amazing on the 5M! They just released a 2024 road map and are apparently releasing some new products in August
I have been using a 5M for a few months.. love it.
I use a mix of 50/50 PVA/water as adhesive.. found it works really well... use handy towels to apply
Want a smooth plate.... get a Creality K1 plate.. fits very nicely.

Should clarify that I just tried the mobile app not Orca-Flashforge. If it is an older version I probably will hold off.
It is based on an older version of Orca from around September 2023 I believe. That's the worst part about it.
Bro thank you so much for creating content for the Adventure 5M/Pro. I just got the pro last week and have struggled to find content around it. Keep up the great work and I appreciate you and your efforts!
I Own two 5m pro printers and they have been amazing.. over 300 print hours on each printer and have never given me a single issue or break down. I have printed every type of material out there including carbon fiber and tpu with out issue using all their stock settings. The PLA bed temp is set a bit low tho.. up that to 60c.. and when printing TPU you can use the standard pla mode and just lower the retraction down to match the retraction in TPU mode and you’ll be able to print TPU at very high speeds compared to the TPU setting they have setup
@BiffsEquipment I have been struggling to print OVERTURE PETG I found on Amazon. I've lowered temps as low as 230c on the nozzle and bed temp of 80c which is what is recommended and if I increase the nozzle temps I get a lot of build up on the nozzle. I've slowed the speed down to like 50mm across the board and it still digs into the print or doesn't print correctly and leaves gaps in layers. Any suggestions would be extremely helpful and appreciated!
@@stevenclark2569 I found that overture is a pretty terrible brand for filament.. I started off using them as well and everything I tried from them has sucked compared to other company’s. My two favorites for PETG are Esun and Sunlu.. buy some of their PETG.. then for the profile select the “high speed PETG” and default the profile before printing to make sure it’s all at factory specs.. I found that these printers print PETG much better in the high speed settings than they do the regular PETG settings.. I found that the faster speeds will offer a better print.. which I know makes no sense.. but yah i never print petg on anything but the HS mode.. even if it’s not HS PETG. Try that and get back to me.
Don’t worry about the settings on the roll just print it at what Flashforge has set for their high speed setting
@@stevenclark2569 also be sure your firmware is all up to date as well as slicer and make sure you do a full Calibration before you try it just to make sure it’s not a calibration issue
siii!! actualicé ayer por la mañana! orca slicer funcionando de manera nativa y flashmaker desde el teléfono móvil. Tambien realicé la calibración PID. Puse un filamento que es muy sensible a los cambios de temperatura, porque tan pronto se imprime mate, como pasa a ser brillo con una variacion pequeña de temperatura (es un mal filamento) y por primera vez mi imprsión fué completamente mate durante toda la altura de la pieza impresa. Flashforge cada vez mejor 🥰
Thank's for Sharing the information on the FlashForge 5M 3D Printer, I've been learning about printing programs and so far the A5M has impressive results using Windows 3D Maker and learning more about the Inkscapes features for accurate dimensional 2d drawings ... Did I mention that this is my first Printer hehehe ... and have remakes from cults and things...
So I've installed the new slicer software and the firmware is like you said, booted and boom on screen, not long at all and rebooted... Thanks again for the explanations.. now I get to try to figure out why it won't find my printer?

I have to use FlashPrint for my FF Creator Pros and Creator Pro 2. Also works well with my FF Guider IIs. I do have the option to use Simplify 3D with those printers also.

First and foremost. Thank you so much for actually making videos on the Adventurer 5m, I was really starting to think I made a poor decision when all others made "meh" videos on the 5m Pro, and would not even touch the 5m for a review.
I can't tell what version of Orca they are using because I have only been printing for about a month and a half now and my experience with Orca is limited to the versions and updates in that time frame. But with my limited experience, I've lost a decent amount of functions from this version to Orca 2.0.0 and I've noticed a few things I wish 2.0.0 had that this application has and vice-versa. Does anyone know what version of Orca Slicer had Precise Walls as an 'experimental function'? Can anyone tell me if previous versions of Orca Slicer also had as many wall order selections as this Flashforge version? I really do like that change.
Love my 5m. It had been almost perfect every time.
I’m now trying a 0.6mm nozzle and layer sdhesion seems a little poor a few layers in. Any tips? Using the stock profile in flashprint
Any idea if they are building profiles for their older machines? Mainly the 4 and 4 Pro series?
Hannah I have the same issue that you do.. were you able to find a workaround at all? Did manually setting temp work? What temp do you like for PTE.
I’ve tried everything I can think of save for using a different slicing soft..
I've found some differences with the latest Orca since I've been tinkering with the Flashforge-Orca. One of the biggest ones is not having the ability of using the command Ctrl+K to clone models, having to use Ctrl C Ctrl V and keep count. I print many small parts of the same model at once and was a feature I used a lot.
Another weird thing that is bugging me is the black buildplate bug. Doesn't matter if I use the renders from the original Orca or the one coming with the mod version... I still have a black build plate.
Not a big deal. Jus deleting the file from the computer turns the texture to a standard one without the logos, but it is an indicator of lack of polishing.
Another thing is that I haven't been able to import my Orca profiles to this version, so I had to create all of them one by one again, what is something quite time consuming. But... The trade off for being able to print straight from my desktop well worth the hassle.
So far I noticed the flashforge orca has less calibration prints than orca. I have not done any printing to see if I need different settings than I use in orca.
Been following the 5M pro very closely as a possible backup printer. Downloaded and played around with the Orca-Flashforge slicer - looks impressive! I was a little disappointed though that there was only one standard quality profile (.2mm layers) for each material. Bambu studio has a whole suite of profiles for various layer heights and print quality - hopefully Flashforge will be adding more soon.
Software is one of the areas Flashforge can improve on. It took a long time to get basic profiles for the 0.8 and 0.25 nozzles. Let's hope they step up in that department.
Obviously the material station could be anything but given that Creality just announced their version of an AMS, I wonder if it's something similar. Material station also sounds very close to material system...
7:00 I think they're working on an AMS like unit. I've read a number of Official comments from different Facebook posts and their CZcams videos that hint they might be doing that. Having a core XY and an automated material system is the only way any company would be able to stay competitive in this modern day

I unboxed my 5M pro yesterday. Everything worked and I printed the test cube. I updated to newest software and now nozzle does not heat up :(. Having trouble rolling back the software. The printer won't install from the USB drive.. Might have to return it sadly....
If you add a 24v LED strip and plug it into the yellow port on the control board, you can control the lights with the toggle on Orca-flash. Not sure if you can control the lights on the flash maker app.

Had my AD5M sitting gathering dust untill i noticed this, since it didnt support Orca Slicer and Remote Connection out of box when i bought it early start of the year, did print some but i find Flashforges own slicer were piece of donkey poop, now i can start finally use Orca Slicer properly with this.
My printer does not work now. It will heat up and begins to say its printing then it just freezes in one spot in the top right coner of the bed the nozzle stays there pressed to the heating bed froze up and never moveing . Ever since the update.
i had to manually set the temp and then it worked but i think they kinda jacked up the settings

Ive only been using a 3d printer for a month now but i will say this i just downloaded orca flash. before i was just using flash print5 for example a 20mm cube takes 3 mins on the flash print but (first time slicing it on orca flash) and it says it going to take 12 mins. so as far as i can tell it should have the same settings but idk... looking into it now but figured i would put that out there. does anyone know if theres significant changes int he orca flash

The profiles for the Nozzles and Filament are super useful.
Until this version has the Scarf Seam option, I'll be using the normal Orca.

Update: Just added Flashmaker App to my phone. It connected to my printer but the camera does not work on the app either.
This was fixed.. it was a bug.. what I found is to never update your flashforge printers when the update is first released.. always wait a week or two and you’ll have no issues as there are usually a few bugs they need to work out with a new firmware release
I can access the camera feed just fine in VLC butwhen I go to Device it says "ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED". ANd I did close VLC first.
When I go to view my camera it causes my AD5M to freeze and i have to hard reset the printer...
Update 2: I was able to download the older firmware for my 5M Pro onto a usb drive. I shut off the WIFI on the printer and restarted with the usb drive connected. It installed the firmware as an update and after a restart the printer is back to being found on the network and the camera can be seen again. It also can be seen in Orca V2.0 again but cannot be seen in the Orca-Flashforge software. I will wait to see if they fix the update issues I found. I can send my files from Orca and view the progress in FlashPrint like I usually do until they fix the issues.

Looking at one for my first printer. Is the Flashforge Adventurer 5M a good buy or should I go with a Bambu lab A1?
They're both very good printers. I think one of the biggest deciding factors is whether you intend to do multicolor printing. If so, the A1 would fit your needs better. If not, the 5M will give you great print quality for less money.

Wait did you say your camera cover is on? Does that mean you can use any web cam and it will show through orca flash and NOT have to use flashforge official camera?
You don't need to use the Flashforge camera. It works with my Logitech C920 webcam and others I'm sure.

I didn't change anything. My build plate has always looked that way.
@@FigureFeedback I researched it online apparently it's a problem. So do remedy it you have to delete the texture files Within the profiles folder under your C drive

I got the same message with a file I exported from Bambu Studio.
So I have downloaded the software and my printer will not show up I have tried connecting it and it is on my wifi and it won't connect so I am stuck
Check to see if it supports scarf seams. If it does, it’s 2.0 or higher. If not, it’s older.
I exported an STL from Bambu Studio and got an error that said Orca-Flashforge was running on 1.7 something. I think that Facebook user is right.
Any know how to connect flashmaker app to the printer? I see the ability to add a printer but it asks to scan a QR code and I'm not sure how to get the printer to show this.
Literally as I post this I found it. Gotta click the information icon on the printer display screen then select my account and the QR code shows up to connect to the app!
I updated to this today and ran my first small print through it. FF need to get some Manual instructions out. Its a bit of a pig to set up, not exactly intuitive. So my Printer, Flash Maker and Orca Flashforge are set up. But how do I get Orca Flashforge to access my printer via the LAN and not the Network (cloud!).?
It has been reachable across the LAN with Orca 2.0.0 but no apparent way of doing so in Orca Flashforge! I really don't want to have to rely on FF's cloud to do my home printing!
Nevertheless, definitely a step in the right direction.

It seems that there is a Printer Menu Setting to enable LAN that defaults to Cloud. When switched to LAN the Cloud capabilities are disabled!
So it’s Cloud or LAN but not both.
I've been happy with 2.0.0 and as you say works great LAN. Not a fan of cloud anything...👎
@@stevesexton6194thinking I’ll set the printer to LAN mode and go back to 2.0.0. I used Scarf earlier in the week for a particular model and it was a huge improvement. I’m not convinced that the mobile app adds any particular value to me.
@@DannyThompson54 I could care less about the app. But I would like to have remote access via a web browser. I've been using octo print for many years, it's a hard habit to break, lol.

Well nuts! No measure tool in Orca-FlashForge. I use that a lot to manipulate (scale) files. I'll stick with Orca 2 and no camera.
That tool is way more useful than I thought it would be for me.
Interested in the 5M but the fans are crazy loud... also no moonraker, fluid, and open Klipper...

I had trouble with that too. I actually never saw the QR code. I went to the My Account option in the printer settings while I had the Flashmaker app open and it just connected. It was really strange.

Yes you can. You can either buy the official camera from Flashforge and install it, or you can use a USB webcam.

The Orca-Flashforge slicer is only for PC and Mac. The Flashmaker app lets you control and monitor the printer from iOS or Android. You have to scan a QR code on the Flashforge website to get it: flashforge.com/pages/software-flash-maker

they really need to add a option to cancel filament change so we can stop it purging manually. I've just got this printer and really hate how much waste is created when changing filament.
Yeah it's very wasteful. I tend to wait a bit before putting new filament in to minimize the waste.

The biggest pain I have had with this printer is that the temperature for bed leveling is not adjustable.
Sombody needs get get this klipperized in an open fashion. the "perfect first layer" isn't perfect, and there seems to be no way to adjust it manually. IU has to add a line in the start gcode to lower it. That's not something a new user would be able to do. Also no speed control in the print menu. It's a nice printer but some odd choices about putting up software walls.
Why does everyone have such an affinity towards orca. Cura works so well with this machine. Better than orca in my opinion minus all the flash like monitoring and over the air prints but curas slicing engine generates way better Gcode

@@isaacroosa4182 I had to make it from scratch unfortunately. It’s been a struggle to say the least. It’s not perfect as I’m not particularly good at writing code so my starting G code is not the best but works well for now
I've used Cura for years. Recently switched to Orca about 2 months ago, and love it. Think Orca is superior by far.
@@deepside7 even tuned I can’t say I get good prints. I also can’t see the leg up on features other slicers might lack. What profile are you using. Your own or a preset?

No dark mode alone is enough to not use it, lol...
