Fun fact: Iru Khechanovi is representing Georgia in Eurovision this year! Also the first guy, Will Church, competed in Germany's national finals for Eurovision this year and came second. The circle of life lol.
edit: Just noticed, the female coach from Lithuania is Monika Liu, Lithuania's participant from last year. And Mark Forster, one of the German coaches, is married to Lena who won the contest for Germany in 2010. So many cross-references lol
Even more fun facts: Lena is also a Coach on The Voice Kids and both Duncan Laurence (singer of Arcade) & Gjon's Tears (singer of Tout l'univers) were discovered on The Voice ✌️
Another fun fact: Iru didn't cover "Euphoria" only, in the semifinal covered "Rise like a Phoenix" in a besutiful way!!!! Plus, Iru won Junior ESC2011 with "Candy", the first georgian win in an Eurovision contest.
Another fun fact: There was something like a casting show in german TV before the ESC in 2010: "Unser Star für Oslo" (Our Star for Oslo). So the people were allowed to choose the german ESC-act. Lena won it. Of course there were judges as well...and many of "Lenas judges" are/were "The Voice of Germany "-Coaches and/or "The Voice Kids"-Coaches too:

@Alira_escx Televote didnt understood anything what she's singing about. Imagine someone sends a song in your language and butchers it. What would you feel?
And the song needs so much energy and she's just standing right there for the whole 3 minutes. I was saying to myself, at least have some dancers or do something walk to the crowd.
The SHUM cover is insane. Not only has that girl an amazing voice, but she's also playing the piano and rearranged the song which also makes the performance incredibly unique.
I'd also be interested in seeing the Belgian Guys' performance without all of the weird camera ankles.
Also, Oxa's performance ability and charisma amazes me every time I see it. And unlike Will Church, she doesn't have a terrible attitude to spoil it.

I kind of love how most of them sang songs from different countries than their own! It shows that even though Eurovision is a competition, it's still a unifying experience for most (European) people to enjoy the music that comes out of it
Fun fact: will church. The first singer actually tried to represent Germany this year with the song hold on and he got third place in the national final.
He should thank his lucky stars that he didn't win because he would've come last in the actual contest lol. People hate Germany these days.

Will Church was amazing.. Iru has an incredible voice... absolutely stunning. Tout L'Univers is incredibly difficult to sing and I thing this guy pulled it off better than most who've tried. Shum made me cry.

When I saw the name I was like 'Wait...' and then saw it was Georgia and was like 'WAIT' and then she started singing. I assume this is an interval performance at this season's finale? Either way, absolutely incredible! I hope she knows how loved Echo was despite not qualifying.

Iru won The Voice Georgia and that's why she represented Georgia in ESC this year. The Voice is the "national final" for Georgia, it's how they choose the representant

Just an old country boy here from Texas who got hooked on Voice from around the world. Iru Khechanovi - Euphoria may be the greatest song and performance I've ever seen. So wonderful!
In the Voice Kids Germany 2021 there was a girl (Constance) who sang Rise like a Phoenix and she was INCREDIBLE.

Woooaw the man singing "tout l'univers" has an amazing voice!!!!
He does have a nice voice, but that choice of song made him sound weak. He would have been better off singing a different song because Tout l'Univers is incredibly difficult to pull off due to Gjon's use of chest voice instead of falsetto.

Except for the Duncan Laurence song Eurovision songs rarely have any impact or success in North America. Yet Eurovision has been a huge event for many decades. Many are not in english of course but perhaps other commenters can name the big hits from Eurovision that found success outside of Europe.
* While she didn't win, Rosa Linn's "Snap" from 2022 went massively viral after the competition, currently sitting at over 600 million streams on Spotify alone.
* Maneskin have become quite successful internationally, originally winning Eurovision with "Zitti e buoni" in 2021.
* Loreen won Eurovision 2012 with "Euphoria", which went on to become an international hit.
* Alexander Rybak's "Fairytale" won the competition in a landslide in 2009 and also proceeded to become internationally sucessful
* Many people are probably familiar with the Eurovision winners of 1988: Céline DIon and 1974: ABBA.
There's probably more but that's all I can think of off the top of my head.
Also the winner from 1997 Katrina and The Waves are known outside of europe. Not with their winning song though but more because of "Walking on Sunshine".

This is what you get when you put in Eurovision songs in a singing competition instead of a freakshow. One by one all pure quality. Would prefer to those versions over the original ones any day. The only of which I prefer the original one is Voila since Barbara sings it with more emotion.

Still couldn't believe Iru didn't qualify to this year's ESC Grand final. It's unfair she lost to Polish horrible song Solo.
In this clip my favorite ones: Iru performs Euphoria, 1st guy sang arcade, Bulgaria's Tout l'universe (his voice wow) & Portuguese gal performed Voili (honestly couldn't understand why the judges took longer to buzz).

I believe this interpretation of Arcade deserved to win EurovisioN, Duncan Lawrence's didn't.
the tout l'universe was imo really bad, other one was soooooo good
Every time I've heard someone attempt it, it's bad. This is because it is very difficult to sing, and Gjon is a master vocalist. He doesn't use falsetto for the higher parts, but instead continues in chest voice with a mix of head voice,, which is incredibly hard to do, especially for male singers. The guy who attempted it had a nice voice, but did himself a diservice by attempting Tout L'Univers.

They are all good. Problem with The Voice is that the singers are not 100% live. Because its à TV show and has to be perfect to win audience. The sound il always corrected and arranged. They all sing live but what we hear is a enhanced version. For the audience at home watching to think it's perfect. It's dusturbing. The franchise does not want real raw voices that are imperfect by nature.
