- Swimming legend Adolph Kiefer is interviewed by Texas Program in Sports and Media Director Michael J. Cramer. The two discuss Kiefer's time spent in Germany during the 1936 Olympics and friendship with Jesse Owens, his experience meeting Adolf Hitler and his time breaking records on the UT swim team. The Texas Program in Sports and Media is part of the Stan Richards School of Advertising & Public Relations and is housed inside the Moody College of Communication at The University of Texas at Austin.
For a man who was 94 years old at the time of this video, he speaks as if he's 40 years younger.
This is a great story. I wonder if he's still with us
Hi Ian, Mr. Kiefer died in 2017: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adolph_Kiefer.
@@marcspeir Rest In Peace 🙏
God bless this man. So happy and joyful at such an old age.
Crazy how history repeats itself.
All but the water...
Germany ended up being the most successful Nation in the games, bringing in 89 medals, with America second.
Ur proud of that
Jesse Owens is the man
All the other medals people do didnt care about
Are you asking me if I am proud of Deutschland? If so, yes I am. And Jessie was a great runner if that's what you mean, yes.
@jeffmax2941 Jesse is the man, Jesse also stated that Germany treated him with respect and so did Hitler.
It was when Jesse returned home he felt shunned.
