I have a 12700k and I would choose a 7500F over a 12400F. One of the major advantages of intel is quicksync (including 10 bit 4.2.2 hardware acceleration that Nvidia or AMD don't support which lots of cameras shoot in). 12400F loses that productivity benefit due to the lack of IGPU so no point in choosing it over a Ryzen 7000 series.

Isn't running 5200mhz ram on the ryzen hobbling its performance quite a bit? You'd usually be running it with 6000mhz memory since ryzen is quite memory dependent. I remember seeing HUB's benchmarks for 12th gen where going from 5200 to 6000 was like a 6% at it's very worst but usually negligible in perf diff at best. While on ryzen it was regularly around 10-20% when comparing 5200 C36 with 6000 C30 memory and even worse for 5200 C40.

Something is wrong with Cinebench results - I checked few i5 12400f and all of them gave about 12200-12300 points in multicore and about 1700 in single core. Multicore score can be explained by intel limit to 65 Watts, but single core I cannot explain.
Regarding power consumption - it depends on CPU revision: H0 is more power hungry and takes almost 80W and cannot be undervolted. However C0 is better and can be undervolted. My undervolted 12400f consumes only 58W (package power) and the whole system (Asus B660-I, RTX 4070) during cinebench takes only 87-88 Watts (measured at the wall), in idle it's 30 Watts, so it's extremely efficient. And it's all having still 12300 points in CB R23.

Kinda different build paradigms going on here, for the 7500f you have better performance and you can drop in ryzen 9000 in the future but inventory is drying up, pretty much limited to ali (like you said). 12400 can be purchased with a ddr4 motheboard so if you currently have a pos ddr4 system you can re use the ram. Also you can get some pretty high feature z690 boards for entry level price because they are seen as "old".

Yeah I have a 12400F, I decided to skimp on the CPU and upgrade later, but then about 1 month ago they dicontinued 13th gen. 14th gen is not usable by me (DDR4).
I was worried it would be slower than my old i9 9900K, but they're quite similar in performance, the i9 has the edge though.
So at the moment it's perfectly acceptable, but my hopes of getting a 13900K or 13700K are rapidly diminishing, especially as rumours swirl about high end 13th gen chips being over powered by motherboard settings, and actually damaging the silicon in those chips. For me when I search for 7500F on aliexpress it's like 34$ more than what it is in your video. Still cheaper than in my country's regular stores or whatever but yeah, not that great of a deal in my opinion, at like 125(like in your video) or 100$ I think it's a no brainer but more than that it's just not a great deal, at least where I am from.

when testing fortnite for 1080p low you should use preformance mode 1080 p low as thats what all competitive players play the game on sorry if you're already using that for testing though

TBH for gaming I wouldn't reccomend anything other than AM5 for better upgradability in the future and it's got better ram as well, might be a bit more pricey than the AM4 but still, it is worth it.

12600kf might be a little closer but yeah I think we're in for another great generation from am5 :) Here's hoping someone comes in to compete (if not Intel) to keep AMD stacking awesome chips like those
