I'm sitting here, discovering her music for the first time and I honestly hate the 2000s media for making me think she was shallow and embarassing while she was owning the pop-rock aesthetic. The public opinion did her dirty and I hope she has a successful comeback.
She's very talented, it's a shame how the industry, the media and the public did her dirty :( she was so young and no one protected her either, yet people love to go on about how many "opportunities" she's had as an adult when it's just not true.

It’s so frustrating seeing the “OMG she had it all whyyy did she throw it all away” comments, like she was the only factor in her downfall. Yes, she is her own person and she made her choices, but you need to also mention her leeches for parents, the aggressive paparazzi, the media mocking and capitalizing on her issues, and that’s only what we see in the public eye. Considering the disgusting people in power in Hollywood, who knows what was happening to a young, impressionable child that blossomed to a beautiful young woman. There are more child stars that “spiraled” than those that made it, so that says more about the toxic celebrity culture than the actors themselves. Not excusing her actions, but I won’t just cast it off as some “spoiled child actress randomly fucking up her life with hard liquor and drugs for the fun of it” either
I mean people kept (and keep) bashing/mocking her at every opportunity they get all these years instead of giving her another real chance or simply treating her with decency instead of continuously bringing up lowest moments of her life in the past etc... it's like at least shut up and don't be a hypocrite, everyone played a part. Lindsay, her parents and "friends"/the industry she's in/the media and us the public. Literally no one protected her for the most part from a very young age. And besides she's still here, she looks happy and healthy, that's a HUGE achievement on its own. her talent is still there as well if given the right opportunities like plenty of MEN have in her position over the past decades (but I'm not holding my breath and I sadly don't blame her if she doesn't feel comfortable to ever give it another real shot either, Hollywood is vile).

I still miss her acting and singing, but I'm glad she is ok after everything shes been through. Thank you Lindsay for making our younger years so memorable.
