Theme is one of the hardest parts of writing because it's the hardest part to boil down to a formula. Sometimes, the story is inspired by the theme; sometimes the theme is inspired by the story.
Yeah. It comes organically. And being patient with that process is key. I wish it were simpler. Lol.
Such great advice! I love the idea of having a solid central theme to come back to over and over again to guide the story. Its so easy to get lost when writing but the theme can be like a lighthouse. I really needed this video. Thank you for sharing your expertise!

Yes! The theme is just like a lighthouse. Any time I get stuck, I ask what I could do to reinforce my theme and it's surprising what comes out.
