Hey! I had the same idea and went through a months long journey until I found your channel, and got many of my questions answered. So, I thought it was a good idea to share some of my findings. In my experience, the system I used color (unintentionally) much of my writing, so I'd leaned on the more generic, narrative and rules light rpgs. I studied a whole metric ton of systems and always found some hard limits or a flavor that would be hard to remove, but something tells me that I found a gem: Kismet. It's my go-to, and uses only one stat for all your rolls (a d20). You can use *any* supplement or setting that you want, plus the solo mode is built-in. Still, to accomplish the retcon you mention, I use a second oracle (mythic, crge or matt jackson's 3d6 oracle, an elegant and simple idea). Add to that some random tables and inspiration for the setting, and I can play (and write) almost anything with little friction.
The same guy that made Kismet (Cezar Capacle) also released another generic rules light system last year that seems very interesting, called Push. Apart from those, other options are Freeform Universal 2e, Loner 2e, Mini Six and Risus.
Anyway, hope that I could contribute in any way - your videos helped me so much. Thanks!

I loved your videos and the use of the Vaesen solo rules for writing :) I am the Per Holmström who wrote the Vaesen Solo rules and it is really cool to see them being used. Thank you!

Oh wow! Thank you for checking out the videos! :-) I really enjoyed the solo rules you wrote. Excellent job! I hope to finish out August’s story soon. So more coming!
Looking forward to using the more investigative rules in the upcoming sessions.

Hi Per. I have a quick question. In the solo rules it says on page 7 that after making a learning test, you can use each success to roll for a clue on the Vaesen tables 1, 2, or 3. But the Vaesen tables don't have values to roll against. Is this more than you can connect exist clues that you discovered from the Clues table on page 8 to a clue on the Vaesen tables? Or, using the context of the mystery so far, you can select a clue from a Vaesen tables? I'm working on a video review of the rule set and wanted to get your intent there. Thanks!

@Michael.Regina hi! This is sadly a translation error. In the original swedish it says that if you succeed with the roll you can LOOK for a clue

Awesome! That makes sense. Thank you for clarifying. I'll be continuing this solo mystery soon and wanted to make sure I used it correctly.
