Perfect timing! I need to bake my mother's 94th birthday cake on Thursday for afternoon tea on Saturday. We'll be driving Friday and Saturday morning. I'll freeze it and pack it and hopefully it will be perfect😄
Thank you so much for making this video! You helped me get my mom's wedding cake from Memphis, TN to Seattle, WA (with a 6 hour layover in Denver). The cakes arrived perfectly intact and ready to be decorated. Everyone thought I was crazy for trying to transport a 4 layer 6 inch cake and a 4 layer 10 inch cake in checked suitcases. They were amazed when they arrived unscathed.
That's quite remarkable to have traveled with the cake, Emily! It turned out lovely and beautiful!! Thanks for sharing those tips! 🙏🏽😊🇨🇦
Thanks so much! 😊
Super helpful! I’ve been trying to figure out the best way to transport tiered cakes across long distances in Texas heat ☺️ Thank you!

What size cake is this xx
I wonder if there would ever be any problem getting through security? I didn't think you could transport any kind of food, but I hope you can because this is great information!
Probably they’ll X-ray it and if it looks like cake maybe they’ll let it through? Probably best to check in advance though, maybe it would work best to transport the layers and assemble later. I think it’s mainly no liquids (or under a certain amount/volume) through security:)
Hey? Did you take the cake in checked bag or with you in carry on?
Checked bag
😍👍
Haha how to make your in laws hate you 🤣
True story haha
but why would you ever need to do this
If you want to make a cake for an occasion in another place. For me this meant I could bake and prepare everything in advance, at home, and then when visiting family I could spend as much time as possible with them, without needing to do that whole part of the cake-making process there.
