INTERCEPTOR/GT 650 IS IGNORED BY ROYAL ENFIELD || 8 REASONS WHY I FEEL THIS WAY

  • Hello Everyone - This is my take on why I've been made to feel as a RE650-twin owner that Royal Enfield doesn't really care about this particular product even though it's the most premium product that they offer. Where other bikes in its line-up get things like tripper navigation, wider rear wheel, hazard lights switch - we get new paint schemes as a 2021 variant.
    Please like share and subscribe if you found the content useful and would like to see my future videos. Until then this is me TheTwinPost signing off 🙏.

    Couldn't agree more. Every point is spot on, this clearly shows that brands take Indian customers for granted. I really want to go for GT650, but waiting for the updates that you have mentioned, at least tubeless tyres, trippier navigation.
    Would totally love a blacked out engine and exhaust as well 😀

    Extremely valid points. RE has cut way too many corners in a bid to keep costs down. It is almost justified by the stellar quality of its engine and gearbox, but still feel RE can introduce a premium version with all the niggles fixed.

    As a 650 owner I totally agree with you that they should have bought some quality update other than paint or colour scheme. You have put forward your points very nicely 👍. But I have some points too, firstly 650 twin is actually a vintage category bike and bringing a alloy wheels spoils that image that's why I guess RE never introduced it.
    Secondly again if RE would have introduced a navigation system to 650 twins, which they have introduced for Himalayan and Meteor it would really spoil the look of the bike. And as a RE owner again we would have made the video on how RE took a ugly decision karke.
    Anyways good going bro, all the best for your future projects 🙌😊

    • @TheTwinPost
      @TheTwinPost  Před 3 lety +2

      Hi there NM..... I agree that any brand cannot make everyone happy with their products.
      I agree that spoke rims look better in terms of overall classic appeal but I'm willing to sacrifice the looks to avoid a tube tyre puncture. Right now the C'eat tyres are tube type so there's no possible solution to that either. I can still live with no additional features but would really expect RE to treat 650 customers in a better way. When they launch something like a Meteor they also comeup with miniature models and on the other hand they launch an update for their most premium bike which just has new paint scheme....

      @TheTwinPost  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Suman... Tubeless spoke rims are really expensive...the cheapest bike with tubeless spoke rims in India is the Suzuki Vstrom-650 which costs approximately 9.5-10 lakhs on road....so expecting tubeless spoke rims from RE for a 3.3 lakh rupees bike is something that won't happen.

    I bought mine in May 2019 and have done 27000 kms. Leh Laddhakh Spiti Siliguri I have covered all and never felt the bike would fail me. However I recently was returning from Hisar to Delhi and had my aux lights on. I stopped to buy water and turned the ignition off. Boy was I in trouble. The bike wouldn't start. I was stranded for 2 hours on a dark road with the road side shops now closed. Reached home at around 3 in the morning. RSA saved the day but that event made me slightly more cautious as I avoid night travel, do not take my wife on rides as I don't want it to happen again. These are not issues and can happen in any bike, question is what's being done to fix or warn of battery is malfunctioning. Are AUX lights or any other add-ons causing the battery to drain that fast - I haven't got an answer yet

    • @TheTwinPost
      @TheTwinPost  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Sy Ka.... That's a scary experience but glad you worked it out and got out of it.
      I have this phobia of such a situation hence I've never had any auxiliary lights or a different bulb or even a phone charging mount added to my bike...not saying there's anything wrong with these but I just haven't.
      While coming back from my Uttarakhand ride the RR-Unit of my bike had failed hence the battery wasn't charging... Throughout the way back I tried to keep the engine running to minimise the load on the bike but had this anxiety all along of the battery running dead and me being stuck.... luckily it managed and I reached home.

      @@TheTwinPost thanks for your quick response. I was wondering if a battery voltage indicator of some sort will help. What's even more interesting is that while the bike wouldn't start, everything else, lights horn etc. were working. This makes me believe that if the battery voltage falls below a threshold, it would not yield enough current to start the bike. Also, starting the bike by pushing and dropping into 2nd gear is out of question unless you happen to be extremely lucky with a mountain like slope. I have thought of few things eg. remove the aux lights, install the volt meter and have a pair of jump start cables 😕

    • @TheTwinPost
      @TheTwinPost  Před 3 lety +1

      May sound like extreme measures to anyone...but for someone who's been there getting stuck in the middle of nowhere at midnight - it makes so much sense.
      Like I've mentioned in the video my RR-Unit went kaput twice (5k kms interval) the first one died and I had no idea why the low battery indicator was ON (thought water was the reason). I got stuck in northern Delhi and the bike just won't crank.... horn was working and so were the other tell tale lights. A fellow bullet-350 rider towed my bike to a certain speed and I started it in 2nd gear and rode straight to the service center.
      I think I'll have to get a volt meter like you suggested - it's a necessity I guess 😐

      TE-697 - Ye chaljaega iski speed rating bhi sahi hai (H 220 km/h) ...but front tyre is pattern me 100 ki jagah 110 lena padega kyuki 100 me nahi aata ye.
      Ralco Speedblaster - Sabse sasta option hai he tubeless tyres me but iski normal road par grip bohot achhi nahi hai ye off-roads and trails ke liye achha hai and ye bhi P rated hai.

If you'll get dependant on stuff to ride then you're compromising on actual fun of #biking.

      Hi Naveen....I somewhat agree and understand your point of having too much electronics especially on classic bikes doesn't make much of a sense.
      My point was that RE is more interested in offering many necessary/looker bits on their new bikes and completely ignoring their most premium bike. They're even offering a USB charging slot from factory in meteor.
      They launched Meteor along with its miniature scale model.... Now that's not a requirement for anyone but it does make the customer feel special about the purchase he's made.

So they can tune it by giving alloys n led headlights n all where in 650 they're all costly n complexity is high in engine. If they give this extra features then they will become costly n with that price point there are other small engine bike which are better than 650.
