Most cases I prefer the original moves, but there are some wonderful gems in there. Such as sor1 Axels hilarious pipe barrage.

I gave the DLC a B- What was missing for me to get the A+ score from me? New enemies and at least 1 new boss or 2. If they didn't think new enemies and new bosses were in their cards, then how about maybe giving new moves for the game enemies and bosses that were already there like they did with the selectable characters.
@@furrynick I mean technically they added pretty much every classic of boss and most enemies that weren't in the game.
All the playable characters are now bosses as well.
Older versions of new enemies do have bigger movesets.
Classic galisa elbow drop
Fat guy being able to jump as well as breathe fire and slap etc etc.
Like everything you're asking for we basically got.
To me it seems more like you wanted new updated sprites for older bosses or enemies but that's a lot of effort for a £6 DLC that already added a rougelite mode 4 characters and new moves for every playable character

When people hear about Streets of Rage 4, they think famous ip, this is guard crush games and lizard-cube who are extremely small dev studios with just a couple of people.
A lot of these new moves are actually based on fan-games, such as Remake and 2X.
Due to adding new fighting skills to SOR4, its officially the best brawler beat em up game ever ☺️

I slogged through the last bits of the tower solo as he died on his last life As Max while I was playing as Axel ((500 points from an extra life at that)) half way through the climb. I beat shiva, had pixel health going into Mr. X on my last life and said and I quote. "I bet this son of a bitch is going to bash me in the head the moment he's targetable." self fullfilling prophecy, one of the only times my friend heard me legitimately mad as I stormed out of the room nearly throwing my controller because we were that close to beating it. Axel's combo game and grand upper literally carried me through to that fight.
New Shiva is an absolute BEAST. So is Estel.
Truly great additions.
They used old sprites to create new moves! As Sonic's music says: endless possibilities!
It's pretty interesting to discover what they create with what they have.

the SOR2 Axle spin kick reminded me of Guy and Cody's special in Final Fight. I like it.
That was Axel's Defensive Special Move in SOR2 Beta, before they changed it to Dragon Wing.
It's also his blitz-special in SOR remake.
I feel like a tard for never being curious enough to pick “training” on the main menu. Now I gotta learn these new moves I didn’t even know were in the game. I’m equally excited to see the old school characters all got upgrades as well!

I can not BELEIVE...a /7/ dollar DLC hyped for giving it's established primary cast an alternative set of moves went so far as to do so for EVERY OPTIONAL UNLOCK CHARACTER AS WELL.
The only thing...the ONLY THING...still missing...is that the left bumper, and the left trigger, are unused. I want either an official patch, or a mod, that lets you assign alternative moves to holding one of those two buttons along with the original input, so we can play each mission with /100%/ move access.
Well, that and maybe give the rest of the SoR4 cast unique movement options to balance Candy's run and everyone else's lack of it.
Still no SoR2 sprite shiva though, that's criminal!
The alternate move idea would be awesome. Besides the star move the triggers are unused for me because I never use R2 for reverse attack. They should definitely be customizable.
And yeah since launch I thought that they should all have a double foward whether its a dash or run and a double up and down like in SOR3.
I would also love to see more combo options for every character. Especially pop-ups into air combos. Playing as Shiva is so satisfying because of his air combos. And air grabs especially for Max. Doing an air combo or a pop-up into a suplex or atomic drop would awesome.

They have to be making their money back 10 fold over there. Surely we've proven there's a real market to tap for quality modern Side-Scrolling beat'em-ups with sufficient depth.

How come I can't do some of the moves you've shown from sor4? Do I have to unlock certain moves. For example for Axel you show some moves that I can't seem to do.
You need to unlock the alternate moves in Survival Mode, which is part of the Mr. X Nightmare DLC.
Get the DLC, play survival over and over until you get everything you want. If you play with a friend online, it also helps you unlock new moves for whatever character they're using

Yes, it works also with co-op. You can even do it alone and let the second player/controller die. Only disadvantage is that you have no choice in your upgrades.

As far as I know they haven’t mentioned anything about releasing more DLCs in the future. But that doesn’t have to mean that this will be the only DLC?

Knoing that Cherry's flying knee is a fire movement as Axel strikes makes me think him as her godfather. Makes any sense?
Also, Blaze's star moves are the worst, and for me this is balancing, because all another moves are extremely effective. This is what make her a "normal" good character and not the greatest cheat on the game.

Do you mean Sucker Punch? Have you unlocked this one in Survival Mode? If so, press forward + triangle.

@@ThomasTrophyTutorials thanks. I unlocked all of Axel's extra special moves. I've unlocked all but the last of Floyd's. I actually made it to level 20 of Mr. X's Nightmare with Floyd, but it still didn't unlock his last special move. It seems to be linked to the number of times you beat level 12, but I could be wrong. The game is quite confusing. Since I got most of my S-ranks with Floyd, I figured I'd better unlock his new specials. The rapid punch is just awesome, as is the jump slide. I haven't had a chance to check out all his moves.
I'm really hoping the game designers will come out with another patch, that balances the characters better. Currently, 3 characters are able to get S-ranks on "hard" and "hardest", while the others all have deficiencies that prevent it. I'm also not a fan of losing my combo points when my combo gets broken. I think people would like the game a lot more, if they were able to keep their combo points.
What does max thunder’s iron will star move do?
It will increase his damage and speed.

You will get a notification after you unlocked a special move. There is also a special menu to track the progress.

You need to get around 1,000,000 points to unlock all retro characters. So those are special, but not that special.

Sad fact: SOR3 Blaze isn't that good. Especially her alternates. Spirit knife does very low damage, uses health up, and she can be interrupted easily by anti-air enemies like Donovan. Slice and Dice does less damage than Sliding tackle does, and you can miss with slice and dice quite easily. Strange how SOR3 Blaze standard specials are mostly better than her alternate specials are.

Most of the new alts were dog shit like excel I wanted to summon the commissioner and Barnaby or a couple Murphy's. Also sor 1 characters don't have access to the minigun special that was in the original game .
THE sor 1 characters needs blitz defensive and offensive specials and air specials. Also why can't we have all the characters playable like all the enemies you fight and bosses for fun
I agree with you here. This was an excellent opportunity to add blitz moves, running and a host of other options to all the old and new streets of rage characters alike. A real waste of potential overall.

New movesets for all the playable characters but not color swiping for all the playable characters so dumb in my opinion and some of the new movesets are kind of lame
