- Incredible old farm house with a very interesting history soon to be torn down, it’s last use was offices and it’s positioned in a precarious spot. I’ll share the full story on the original family of this house in a Pinned comment below. Thanks for watching! Like & comment & subscribe if you enjoyed the video!
The history of this house is actually fairly murky. No history can be found on the original owners other then they were forced out due too eminent domain. There is speculation of a birthday party where the family mysteriously all fell ill and then essentially disappeared but I’ve found no news articles too back that up. The home was built in the early 1900’s and has set vacant the last 20 years last being used in any capacity as offices and a museum. Thanks for watching, hope you enjoy!
Fascinating Kappy ✌️😊
Too bad there was no more information on the family that owned the house but it does look like it's holding a secret, thank you for trying Kappy
The city hall would have the names of the original owners then you would have to look up their name on line.
I have access to several old newspaper collections and have done my genealogy as well as research and trees for others. I would love to research from original owners up to what you heard. I can find stuff.
Thank you for posting , so needed a break from the news of the horrors that are taking place in Ukraine ..
The houses life ended when they converted it into a business. Those false ceiling's should be outlawed.
Same here. The outside is so beautiful, but all that office junk and "modernization" on the inside sucked the soul right out of the house.
Agree..
I lived in a house I Altus Ark.that had a big 2 room basement that you could hear foot steps in when you were alone in there it was a three bed room one bath house.
The drop ceilings are added usually to keep heating and cooling costs down and an easier way to add modern wiring without having to deal with plaster ceilings. They are an eyesore but it’s also understandable for a quick fix. Especially since most homes like this are now in less desirable locations and lower income families usually inhabit them before their demise.
I always feel so sorry for these old beautiful houses. Just left to rot away. So glad I was able to save one, my 1916 farmhouse from the same fate. Been here for 29 years now. And have loved every minute of all the work it has taken us to save her. And I know that she is so happy we did.
Thank you for doing that.
I'm happy you were able to save your house!
@@hollywebster6844 my house is happy too! Lol 😆
Ya’ll exploring all the abandoned houses that I can’t, is my favorite part of the internet! Thanks for taking us along in your adventures!
Thank you for watching them! :)
Yes, my son restored a 1906 Gregorian style home with a few.people helping. Pocket doors, beautiful wooden floors restored to its old glory, stain glass windows, a huge front doorway, 3 floors with a balcony on the 2nd, huge kitchen, staircase for help to use, a claw foot tub restored like new, fireplaces in each
room restored...etc.
I am so comfortable in the house when I visit. The old owners have to be smiling to see their home restored.
Curious It's Kind of a personal question though but how much did it cost your son to renovate it from top to bottom?
@@jillybean3688 alot more then most people would ever think. Money would have to be plentiful. Wouldn't want to heat or cool but bet it's cool though.
Somebody with an extra half a million could restore that beauty. And it is a beauty. Thanks for showing us another great find!
This house truly is impressive. It's too bad that the house couldn't be saved and restored. It's a shame to tear down such a beauty.
This old girl's original beauty still peeks through despite the tacky office and museum remodel inside. Lovely newel post, beautiful turret rooms, upscale hardware, spooky basement, and I love the old bench on the stair landing. Those specimens at the end--wasn't expecting that! 😳 🤣. Sadly, no wallpaper for us Ruby! 😢 Thanks for the explore! 😊
Agreed! Still had some very pretty details left! Thank you for watching!! :)
@@urbanexploringwithkappy1773 This house must have been magnificent in it's day.
@@urbanexploringwithkappy1773 Yes nice detail,
The office remodel ruined it though
Yessss lol. That drop ceiling and cheap HD doorknobs. Cringe.
What a gorgeous old home, so sad that nobody is restoring it, they sure don't make houses like this anymore.
We could but we don’t. Back then the tools where mediocre compared to now it makes it even more impressive just by the fact they did so many details
A home deserves to have a family and children.
I wish someone would find this home and bring the love back
Definitely the house i would remodel back to it's original beauty. Absolutely love this one.
That first home was stunning! I would love to see it restored to it’s former glory! Thanks!
What a beautiful old home! I bet it was spectacular in its original state! Great find Kappy & Ruby!!!❤️
Thank you for watching! :)
I'd be tempted to check out the original ceilings by removing a drop ceiling panel. Some ceiling have ornate decor.
I thought the same!
Seeing the beauty of the painted word work would be great too!
Peace ✌️
yessss
Would love to go on a time travel back to when this home was young and cared for! It has some lovely details! Some of the bookcases look older with glass doors! Thanks for the video! Would like if u can spend more time on details like the pictures on the stairs and Ruby’s find of an album! Glad u have your girlfriend to explore with u now😊🥳
I love that you are learning so much about what the old names for items you find in these houses. I would like to know more about the place. Thanks for taking me along on your adventures!
Thank you for watching! I’m glad too hear you enjoy! :)
I hate when they basically cover up and ruin the original architecture. But that doesn’t change the fact that that house is amazing thank you for sharing
Wow, that’s an amazing house. Didn’t see any water damage to ceilings, so looks in pretty good shape to me on the inside. Very restorable. Didn’t get a good look at the outside. Nice find Kappy. 👍🏻
That building has a million stories. When I was in college at VCU the university had taken over so many old homes as the campus grew. The department for my major was this awesome old house and one of my professors had an office you had the climb up and through and all around and it was in a weird space under the eaves. This was in the 80s. There are still some there but some are gone. Awesome video. ❤️
Community College in Pittsburgh started out in the old mansions on the North Side. I loved being able to explore them as I went to classes.
What a picturesque home. Great architecture! Gorgeous staircase and turrets.
That was a really big house. Great staircase and windows. The barn was great, must have housed a whole lot of animals. Thanks Kappy
Thank you very much for watching!! :)
This was an amazing house. I’ve learned so much about old houses and have really developed an appreciation for them since I started watching your videos. Keep up the great work!
Tons of doors in that old house! Would love to have seen it before all the drop ceilings were installed! Great explore as always kappy and ruby!
Hi Kappy and Ruby! Wow, this house was so nice, love the turrets, staircase was still intact, as well the attic, wonder why the historical items were left behind? This was fun, thank you both for another urban exploring adventure, enjoy your day, hello from Orange County, CA 😊👋🏚️
Urban Exploring With Kappy thanks for sharing with me this video about Stunning 107 year old Packed Abandoned Queen Anne House w/ Strange Jars *Soon to be Torn Down it was a shame this to see this house go but i guess things happen and i really enjoyed it my friend and i can't wait tosee your next video and God Bless and thanks again.
I like it ALOT when Ruby goes exploring with you! She sees a lot that you might miss!
Very true! Two pairs of eyes is always better then one! Thanks for watching!
As a kid, I was always afraid to go down into the basement of my house but strangely enough, the basements of these old homes intrigue me.
That first house must’ve cost a pretty penny when it was built. Loved the explores as always!! Question for us Kappy fans…Did you have a mentor that got you interested in all of the wonderful details of old homes???
My mom definitely got me interested in old houses as a kid but then I started reading books like Ghosts along the Mississippi! Thanks for watching!! :)
Was this a school of some sorts? Maybe a museum. Love those round benches in those windows. The rooms are huge. Before it was this business if must have been a beautiful house. Thanks for the tour. loved this one. Lean on God
This old farmhouse, I imagine was such a lovely place to live in back in the day. The woodwork is so beautifull. A pity that it was used as offices, instead of people living in it. Thank you for the show.😢💖💖💖💖
Oh my word!!!! BEAUTIFUL!!! Absolutely amazing! Thank you Kappy for all your hard work and dedication. The homes you bring us are beautiful! Stay safe. 😊
Thank you so much!! I really appreciate it! Really have some cool stuff on the way!! :)
Glad to see that's the only kind of body parts you found while there. 😁 I love seeing the antique features of this house - the updating not so much. There was an attic door in the bathroom upstairs, and a little more that stairway going downstairs was giving out-very dangerous. Anytime you're in those old houses and you can shut a window or block it, it would keep the rain out. And to think this house is going to be torn down just doesn't make any sense to me.
Kappy and Ruby
Love you both🥰. Thanks for this video. Like someone else mention earlier, I'm surprised that you and Ruby didn't point out that door in the bathroom where you said it stinks.😝. Also in the basement was a stairs I believe that might have been blocked off upstairs. I think that there was transom windows over a couple of doors downstairs🤔. Really loved the outside🥰
Why does a lot of people think that old houses and basements are spooky🤔. There could have been a lot of happy memories made over the years🥰🥰🥰😁😁😁
I wonder how old the house is🤔,when did someone move from there🤔, and I wonder why it's going to be torn down🤔.
I just started watching ,I love these old houses, and I appreciate you and Ruby respect you show ❤
This house is beautiful, and salvageable. I wonder what the ceilings looked like before the dropped ceilings were added?
Wow that house had some of the largest radiator heaters I have ever seen. Great find. Beautiful old home. Good job as usual Kappy.
Thank you for watching! :)
The home I grew up in had those radiator heaters. They got really hot to the touch.
Just beautiful and would have been a great place to work with all the natural light (from someone in a cubicle for 20 years....) The "INCA" boxes in the basement are a computer game (I think) from 1985-1993 made by the Coktel Vision Company but I'm not a gamer so don't know anything else about this. Thanks so much Kappy and Ruby for another trip back in time!
These old, abandoned homes are sad but so fascinating! I have always loved old architecture, the amazing details!
Queen Anne Victorian, my favorite. I hate seeing these big, beautiful houses turned into offices though. Thanks so much for taking us along!
Thank you Kappy! What a beautiful old house!
WHAT A BEAUTY!!!!!!
Agreed!! Thank you for watching!
What a beautiful home it once was! I wonder what they used it for. Lots of office furniture that could be reused. Really cool
Kappy, that house **moves sooo beautifully inside, and is a gorgeous exterior home as well ! Wow! If the foundation is not too compromised (mold, rot, roof and foundation destruction), would love (fantasy, obviously) to just reinforce and revitalize everything, do a fresh and warm- hued paint, etc., and leave rooms **uncluttered. Whatever/whomever the company that had that house last , were completely indifferent to its beauty ,that commercial, cheap **ceiling , appliances in the kitchen - yccch. Many of your videos make me sad and frustrated, as I know this place is headed for the dumpster. Homes, like people, have a kind of karma, and a mystical allotment of protection - or not.
Karen Stanislaw. As far as the flow of this hose is concerned, you can’t see the forest for the trees. Every item that is or original to the house would have to be removed, including the window covers. The house is so chopped up with cheap panels and miscellaneous crap that you can hardly see the Grace of the house. Your talking hundreds of thousands. There are tons of beautiful homes for sale in the US in excellent shape for excellent prices!
Looks like it's not in terrible shape. It's gorgeous! I got an uneasy feeling downstairs but not the rest of the house. Not sure it's haunted. Did you get any vibes? I know you are sensitive to that stuff.
Thank you for another great video. The house was so grand and magnificent. The beauty of it over powered the ugly office furniture. Another great find.
I’ve never understood why people leave all their stuff behind!?
You two kids make a good team!
Oh i love that staircase!
Beautiful home. Enjoyed the staircase, doors and original windows etc. The office furniture and drop ceilings were a distraction but it is what it is. Thanks for the tour! 👍
My husband and I really enjoy watching your videos - we sometimes wish we could salvage some of the beautiful flooring. Thank you and keep up the good job!
Incredible place. You always find amazing places to show us,thank you Kappy.
Too kind! Thank you for watching! :)
I really love what you do and enjoy your videos. One suggestion for production quality: Please have anyone that comes with you on your shoots wear a mic so we can hear what they are saying. It’s frustrating when someone off-camera speaks to you and it’s muffled and unintelligible. And then when you respond at regular volume, it’s like you’re having a private conversation that we’re only hearing part of. Thanks for what you do and I look forward to your next video.
That’s a good idea, I film on my phone but I’d like too get a real professional camera with a mic someday! Hope it’s not too terrible for now, I appreciate you watching and the advice! Thank you for watching! :)
@@urbanexploringwithkappy1773 Wow, the film quality is great, being from a phone!
Oh the secrets a house can hold. Man I don’t get why people paint woodwork. Another nice vid you two!! Keep em coming !!
My mom stripped all the woodwork that had been painted in the house I grew up in. It took her years. She would visibly look sick every time she saw painted woodwork. lol
I can't believe it when people put those ultra ugly dropped ceilings in!
Did I see a silver finish door knob? Is so, how common are those? Absolutely once beautiful house. Thanks Kappy and Ruby for sharing your house explores. We're you creeped out on this one ruby?
What's really sad is that this house seems to be in the "good bones" category. It's likely not so far gone that it couldn't be moved and restored, or at least given a makeover true to the era. It looks like it could be a George Barber design with that tower roof line jutting out behind the main tower. Such a shame.
Razorfriendly Moved and restored???? Can you begin to fathom the cost of that? It would cost millions and there’s water damage. There are thousands of historical homes in good shape for sale in the US. as d amazing deals to be had. I hate what they did to this house. You can’t see the actual rooms for the office crap and other junk!!!
Older house have much more character and beauty - not plain utilitarian like many of today's structures.
Thanks for exploring these gems, hope they're all not doomed to be demolished!
(I have months of your vids to catch up on, no more Hollywood for me)
Peace ✨🕯️✨
This is a wonderful old house. I would have liked to have seen what the ceiling look like under the drop ceiling. I bet you there were some nice medallions. I loved the benches on the stairs, and it looks like the whole place would’ve been a wonderful to live in! Nice explore! Take care!
man! Modern refinements have, over time, removed all character from this massive Queen Ann.
But somebody has put in protective measures to keep the elements out, which helped preserve it thse 20 yrs vacant. Will read on and see what history is shared. Gosh, that large dark wood framed long glass showcase would cost us $1500 more or less in an antique shop. In fact, its best use would be IN an antique store showing jewelry & artifacts needing protection.
Nice job.
Thanks to you adventurous explorers taking the time & effort of filming these places. I understand it takes hours and hours sometimes in just the editing process, so I appreciate your output even more. Thank you!!
We love this stuff.
Hello Kappy and Ruby,I love watching your video.
Love this house got messed up with modernization but the original beauty still shines thru. Good attention 2 the little details. Interesting story. Thx 4 Sharing stay safe.
Love the staircase is beautiful .
Awesome tour/Thank you…I like to imagine a happy family living there throughout the seasons!
That house is definitely restorable.
Thank you Kappy for sharing another most excellent video
Thank you very much for watching!! :)
Love this one. It is sooo salvageable. Please don’t tear this down. I would love to have it.
What a beauty the staircases those tall windows,I'd love to own it just get the paint off the transome windows and all the peeling paint off doors etc fix the water damage first ,love the architecture.great video 👍❤️🇺🇸
Another Very Beautiful Nice Find Kappy!... Hope it can be rescued and saved by someone before It's too late... 👍🏆🎗
Beautiful House , great Construction and I loved the zoological specimen jars too
Interesting, very interesting...........Cool old mysterious house.... I had goose bumps daring the walk through and we are talking about the day light hours. I would not like to walk through that house in the late-night hours, no thank you! Good story Kappy, Signed, Greg the egg.
Your videos are superb! I have always been fascinated with the architecture of older homes, especially Victorian era homes. I am not a ghost hunter, but sometimes I will see something in videos on CZcams that are images and, honestly, I do not look for that sort of thing. At 0:16, the image of half that mannequin on a table in one of office rooms facing the window made me think it was something other-worldly looking out at you as you filmed the outside of the house...LOL!
loved it and love the fact that ruby is with you would love to see her on filming thank you for sharing
Hi Ruby! How do you like traveling around visiting these grand old houses? You sound like a real nice person. My son is a police officer in Texas. He gets to see some real nice places there. I like Kappy's voice and how he explains the woodwork in these old houses.
Thank you for the great content and taking your subscribers through these beautiful old homes again thank you so much👍
Ever find people living inside?ive been in 43 abandoned houses, upstairs came across a few buzzards, thanks for sharing,be safe
The first home with the 3 floors not counting the basement,Should of been left in it's original state.Strange that it seems to be to itself and looked grand once wish it was again.Thank you and Ruby for sharing.
Again..WOW! Thanks so much for these videos.
I had a friend that was renting a home similar to this one. There was no original basement. However an additional room was added on. This addition did have a basement.
Where the 2 buildings joined the old house was built on flagstone walls. There was no cement. This home had 2 and 1/2 floors. It was amazing how they incorporated bathrooms, kitchen plumbing and created another small apartment above the garage. It was amazing !!!!
Hi Kappy Just saying, Love to have the blue print on this beautiful place, and the barn too! It took years to make these excellent charming , even the places near it.But too sad it became offices, All I can think of is paint stripping taking the lowered ceilings out, redoing the floors to original glory,Putting some fireplaces in,Keep central heat and air, Taking the mirrors off the knoll posts😅👍On and on ha! Thanks for the video 👌💕
That bench on the first landing is AMAZING!!! I would love to have seen this house when it was built WOW. Thanks for sharing your adventures 💗
A mansion on a farm? Lovely grand mansion. Fabulous rooms and staircase. Those jars in the shed were pretty gross. Thanks for showing this beautiful house to us.
It breaks my heart to know this wonderful house will be gone soon.
What a beautiful house...I wsh someone would have took care of it..love it!! Thanks
Great video Kappy, the barn was amazing looking. 👍👍👍
Some of the houses you show can still be saved
I've been watching your videos for about a year I love 💕 all the history There's just something about old homes , I have 8 grandkids and the older one love exploring old places!! Thanks for your videos!! Be careful ,God Bless You All
Oh Wow!! This house is spectacular. It amazes me how these places are just left. You can almost picture her in her glory days. We appreciate you going into the basement. Strange shed with all the jars. Yucky! Thank you for another awesome video. Stay safe out there. ☺️😉
What a shame another beautiful old treasure will be torn down! It should be preserved! Thanks Kappy!
Those are some shiny boots Ruby is wearing. Nice!
Thank ya! :)
Yay, I've been waiting for this one from the previews on your other uploads. It didn't disappoint! The architecture is what I noticed from your previews, the spooky backstory was the cherry on top. I could feel the sinister nature of the place as soon as you walked in. But once upon a time it was a fairytale castle. That is one of the prettiest staircases you've found, I don't think I've ever seen a mirrored newel post before. The ceiling treatments on the third story were so elegant and the light from all the windows was amazing. So sad it suffered such a horrible fate in the end, I'm so glad you captured it for posterity. Thanks Kappy, and Hi Ruby! Take care you two
Much appreciated for the kind words and watching! I’m glad you enjoyed! Have some even better stuff on the way! Thank you! :)
the mirror inserts on the newel post must have been put in to replace stained glass panes. It may have even had an electric feed to give soft illumination.
Very beautiful house!!!!
Agreed! Thanks for watching! :)
Thanks again, Kappy for another wonderful showing! I bet this house was gorgeous in it's day. What a shame it's not in that bad a shape.
Hi Kappy 👋 Hi Ruby 👋
What a beautiful grand old girl, such a shame she's going to be torn down 🥺
Thank you for sharing her with us
Hi Kristy!! :)
Thanks for watching! :)
You didn’t show us those awesome porches! Rather seen those than the dead fish
Shame that it's getting torn down. Bones on the house seem good. But it cost's $$ to repair and keep up. Too bad there isn't a volunteer save the old house club of sorts through grants or some type of funding. Nice job taking us inside these old homes. It's kinda of a bitter sweet moment when you pan the view knowing it won't be there in the future.
true. That is why I consider Urban Explorers to be cultural historians. They are documenting our past.
The basement is awesome!!!!
What a shame the waste of these barns and homes I love them👍❤️🇺🇸
Love your videos kappy from England 😁
What a beautiful old home .....despite all the office stuff and drop ceilings . Shame they will be tearing this wonderful old girl down she has a lot of potential sad very very sad . Great video as always Kappy !!👍👍
Very cool i would live in it .
It looks like it was a nature museum. We had one just like it where I grew up and there were many jars of "preserved" baby animals that supposedly died at birth. Many taxidermy animals as well. It's still there but I haven't seen it since I was a kid. It was also in a beautiful old house left to the park (Millcreek Metropark in Youngstown, Ohio) by the family who lived there a long time ago. But it wasn't butchered up into a bunch of offices like this one was. It's a shame that this gorgeous house is being torn down.
Barely started this video. And what a beautiful house. ❤✝️🇺🇸
Wow, what a great explore! I love Victorian style homes.
You know, my great Aunt Martha had an old Victorian style home and it even had a turd room like this one! The turd room wasn't the most popular part of the house due to the smell, but it sure was nice!
That said, Kappy, when are you going to make an honest woman of Ruby? You should find an extra special urbex house and propose to her there! We would all be rooting for you!
My father actually proposed to my mother in an abandoned house back in the old days. Unfortunately, a storm rolled through mid-proposal and the roof caved in on them, but Papa was able to dig the ring and Mama out of the rubble. What a special day!
Well that was certainly memorable.
