- We have been putting off this project for weeks. We were not excited to squeeze ourselves under the bus with our 65 gal. gray water tank for hours, but we got it done!

Thank you soooo much for making these videos. Your videos have helped us ton on better understanding our build. We really really appreciate all the time and effort you put into these videos! Hope to see you on the road someday!
Wow, thank you so much!! We have learned sooo much from other peoples build and we are just so happy to contribute to the wealth of bus building knowledge out there 😅 good luck with your build! We’re always down to meet up on the road 🚌
Great work on the tank!! Looks awesome and you always think of everything!! Kinda glad you’re way ahead of us now so we can just copy everything you do hehehehehe 😁 I can only think of one more project: tiling the shower!!! Eeeeek can’t wait for that! THEN ITS TRAVEL TIME AAHHHHHHH
The tiling has begun!! I’m glad we’re ahead so we can come help you build and you can help us make upgrades 😂😂
@@AdventureTrudge pft upgrades?! Ur bus is already soooo perfect!!!!
I was thinking ah man no boop this time. But you managed to pull it off at the last second @8:40
I can go about my day now knowing a boop has been giving for grey water drains.
Let no tank go un-booped! It really is an important finishing touch for so many projects.
Thank you for this video 👍
Thank you for watching! 🧡
I lovveeee this video! I did my grey water tank set up just like yours. This video was extremely helpful and informative. I added some ratchet straps for some added support tho.
yay!! So happy to help 😁 Love the addition of rachet straps, you can never be too careful with these buses lol
But can I just say how amazing the background music when they were building
Aww thanks! Glad you like it ☺️
How has your journey been. Please communicate back 👍
It’s been amazing! We posted a lot more of our adventures on instagram if you want to see more 😊
I love your videos
We love making them, thanks for following along!
We are Brazilian, now we’re living in Massachusetts. We just got a bus to convert and go back to Brazil. You guys are helping us a lot. Thank you 😊
@@bussolar that’s amazing!! We can’t wait to see what you do 😍
"Just.... slide in" lol
We were definitely not 100% sane by the end of this video 😂
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
🧡🧡
What size is the grey tank? Your fresh water is 100 correct?
VERY informational ! Was wondering if water backs up to shower when tank is somewhat full and you are driving around ?
We haven’t ran into that issue yet! We installed HepvO valves on our sink and shower drains to help with that but we also just try to not let our gray tank get that full 😊
and I just bought my 5window!
That’s so exciting!!
@@AdventureTrudge I'm excited.. for sure
Love your channel. Do you have any footage of how you attached the all-thread to the bus itself?
Thank you! I’m not sure if we have anything that isn’t shown in the video. We basically drilled through the I-beams running across the bottom of the bus and then slid the threaded rods through and put washer/lock washer/nut with thread locker on either side to hold them in place.
Looks great! So close to being done 🎉 . How do you keep all the nuts and bolts
from coming loose while driving?
Thank you! We have lock nuts on everything, and Gavin made sure to make them tight! We will check in them routinely, and can always add thread locker if we think we need it later.
Great job. where did you get the brackets and do they seem to work. I am planning to do the same thing soon on my daughters skoolie.
They're from Home Depot, I just linked the exact ones in the video description :) and they've worked great so far!
5:59 don't mind me dancing to the music
🕺 💃🏼
I will be using 55 gallon blue plastic tanks for gray and black water. Much cheaper than buying RV tanks.
Nice!!
Hi!! How did you attach the metal frame for the tank to the chassis? Did you just use self drilling metal screws? I’ve been trying to use lag screws and it is not working out haha
Ugh, it was not easy! We went through multiple drill bits but we basically just used large heavy duty drill bits, our impact driver, and Gavin’s muscles to drill the hole. Then we slid the threaded rod through the hole and added a washer/but/loctite on the backside of the beam. I’ve also seen people use something like this -

@@AdventureTrudge ahhhh okay I wasn’t sure if you put the thread rod all the way through or not. I don’t have access to the top of my beams so I have to use some kind of screw, but I think I actually have it figured out though now. But thank you for the quick response!! :)))
@@EmilyKeeter you're welcome! Glad you figured something out :D Good luck!
Where did you get the black ring that you used for the drain? This is one of those niche things that I'm not even sure what to search for. Trying to get my grey water installed. At that weird awkward point where I'm trying to figure out the right things to google to answer the many questions I have.

I was wondering if your vent was large enough for the water to dump very fast or is it kinda of slow.
It dumps fast! We’ve never timed it but definitely less than 5 min to dump a full tank
Hey guys! Thanks for the video! I am wondering what your ground clearance is? I am about to put in my tank and am concerned about my clearance.
Our entry stairwell is our lowest point I think - it is about nine inches off the ground. Our front axle is about 11 inches, and our water tank is roughly 15 inches off the ground. So where we mounted the tank there was enough space that it really didn’t affect our clearance!
@@AdventureTrudge thank you so much :) you are an awesome help!
Random question. Where did you get the 4inch rubber gasket from? Lol. Can you insert a link?
www.amazon.com/dp/B00BR5RYXS?linkCode=ssc&tag=onamzgavinopl-20&creativeASIN=B00BR5RYXS&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.3I299B4T8SBCM&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_m_asin here’s a link to the 3” gasket we used for the dump valve - most things should be linked in our Amazon storefront in the description 😊
Where did you get the drain whose that you guys attached to the dump valve
It’s linked in our amazon storefront in the description! Here’s the direct link ☺️ www.amazon.com/dp/B01HPHR2M4?linkCode=ssc&tag=onamzgavinopl-20&creativeASIN=B01HPHR2M4&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.3I299B4T8SBCM&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_m_asin
Thanks for the reply
I had found it already I just looked at items that goes with it and it was there
Is there anything keeping it from bouncing up and hitting the bottom of the bus?
Yep! We have another piece of angle iron across the top just like we have across the bottom ☺️
Emily is so beautiful
What keeps the dump valve pipe from sliding out from pressure inside the tank? Looked like the pipe just slid in without any secure connection and water pressure will just push it out.
Good question! We used self-sealing grommets from rec-pro for anywhere we have a pipe going into our gray/fresh water tanks. They expand when you push the pipe through and lock it in place.
@@AdventureTrudge cool, thanks for taking the time to respond. I was under the impression those type sealed to neutral or low pressure but might not hold to the pressure of a full tank. Wouldn't want that mess if it let go unexpectedly 😂
Yeah that would be awful 😂 we haven’t had any issues yet! 🤞🏻
What size threaded rod did you use?
I believe they’re 1/2”, we just found the size that fit through the holes in the slotted angle 😊
How long would you say it took you to install start to finish?
Not super long, probably less than 5 hours of work but it was spread out over a couple days!
