I bought this game as a Christmas gift on a whim for my son, not knowing anything about it, as I couldn't find the game I was initially looking for.
After watching this, I'm glad, this looks fun as hell! I'm sure he'll enjoy it Christmas morning.

Have been playing Trackmania since the days of Trackmania Nations E.S.W.C and love it this is a nice evolution of the series
+James Brand bruh a big fan of trackmania since the very first trackmania and trackmania Sunrise. I stopped playing a few years back but when I saw they were releasing this for the Xbox 1 I immidiately pre-ordered
The helicopter entrance reminds me of motor storm
It's worth mentioning that the game will be getting VR support for PSVR and Oculus Rift :)
I'm not sure if you want to use VR on this lol unless you have a really strong stomach

+aXque Vive focuses on it's dual controller operation. Most likely it will come out on vive with controller support but with my experience with vive/oculus, oculus feels much more comfortable when it comes to cockpit ready games.

Not your usual (arcade) racing game!
I played trackmania over a decade ago, and I remembered it being a unique and fun game. When I first played the new versions of trackmania, last year, I found them annoying, irritating, but with something nice about them.
I played again when turbo was free in PS+ and I learned how to appreciate the game. It happened because I already knew that this wasn't an easy racing, an usual arcade, or a lap racing game, it has another purpose! It's about perfection (but not realism), and controlling your emotions - seriously, repeating the same thing every ten seconds can be really annoying.
Plus, I'm having a lot of fun making custom maps that are easier (and are actual races, like those with laps in the game) to couch play!
I guess what I wanted to say is that this is a unique game, and it can be terrible for some, great for others, or just vanilla, depends on what you want from the game. If you're open minded or like challenges and have an old arcade game nostalgia, have fun! (:

+Gabriel Hibbitt You ever played NFS Most Wanted 2012? I got it for free on Origin a while back, installed it but didn't play it. Then I bought a Vita and it was already installed on there so I gave it a try, and it was really fun - naturally the PC version would be better so I tried that out and it IS awesome.
+Ponimaju now if only i didn't upgrade to Win10 i would be playing that game right now.
So many hours spent getting Gold times on every track. Lots of patience, some fits of anger, and lots of repetition just to get each track just right. Most importantly it's lots of fun!

Do the races feel too short though, in single player mode? That's my only concern. Still I might just give it a try.

Why does this look better than Trackmania 2020?
can somebody tell me i played the beta it was great but online was ghost racing on the full game is it real cars instead of ghost cars?
Vast majority is Just ghost racing. I THINK the Splitscreen has collision, im not sure though.

It'll happen eventually, you can find it dirt cheap on sale all of the time. Personally it never really interested me till now.
I was about to play the demo but when starting in informs that u have to install uplay. I choose nope.exe and unintall

Everything We Use yes you can also you can use two player to drive one car its like a team work thing
To me, as a former trackmania player < heck even my yt image shows a car from TM forever, this was a bit disappointing. But then again it could be just me. I liked the graphics, the four game modes, the easy to figure out-hard to master handling, and I liked that it is actually possible to race split screen with collisions ON.
Now for the bad side. I hate when features that existed in previous installments get removed.. you can no longer have custom vehicle models, and also can no longer paint the car on your own, instead you get to unlock liveries as you earn gold medals. Hotseat mode which was my fave to play with my friends, got butchered. You can no longer set it up, all you can do is choose the mode (regular or double driver) a track, and a number of players. That's it. No longer can you pick players through profiles and have them race with THEIR vehicles, it's always like this: player #1 is blue, player #2 is red, Player #3 is green and so on.. you can't even choose a COLOR at least.. if you're playing 2 players, you'll always be red and blue - and blue will always go first. Secondly, you can't choose the race type, like "timed" or "tries". It's set to "timed" always, thanks for taking that freedom of choice away. And last but not least, if you wanted an 8 player race, you can only see ~4 ghosts at the time. I looked the config file and couldn't change that value, like i could in previous installments, but that's just sad.
Aside from all that, it's just regular trackmania. Would only recommend it to those looking for multiplayer races.
Its also fun when you just fly around and find a secret street or something else like trying to fly tru small cracks to get on other stuff

I've always scrolled past IGN reviews, half expected them to review the free trial like half the others here but this was a surprisingly intuitive take and has made up my mind on buying the game thanks guys :D
@Peter Alexander it is offline playable, my two cents is that the learning curve can get pretty steep once you get to the later stages (red + black series). the game explains it pretty well: easy to pick up, hard to master. takes a lot of time to perfect runs but it's still a fun game
I'll definitely be picking this up on PS Plus. Played it on my friend's Xbox the other day and found it really fun.

nah lol it'll stay frustrating. that's how TM is. it's got its learning curve. then you strive to get better and better and you crash and stuff. idk it pushes you to get better

Awesome game! however! playing it on Xbox one and the absurb sensitivity makes it sometimes impossible to controll the cars :/

I think someone needs to make a Star Wars Pod Racing Game for Oculus Rift.. I always wondered what it would be like to actually be In a pod to race for so many years and would just love the hell out of that game
I waaaaaant, but I bought the last iteration and never played it.
I'll wait for this to go on sale, biggest selling point is the more couch coop friendly features they've added as well as proper controller support.
It's a shame the absolutely fantastic Hot Seat mode + random track generator aren't mentioned in this review.
This combination is the most fun I've had on a console in years.

Occasionally frustrating you say. Haha, you've never made it too the black series I see. This is the Cuphead of driving games!! You have to gold medal everything to unlock the black series.and once there, the courses are so challenging you might spend a whole week just mastering one course.

Gonna get this as my new random in between other games -game...since they dont realease any new content to Trials fusion. This does looks like fun tho..alltho the tracks seems a bit short (30-45sec!?)..but i guess thats a part of the trying to stick with the arcade game hall vibe that they obviously went for with this game 👍 as someone else mentioned..weird they did not touch on the fact that it will be compatible with vr.
+Majesto Music you can play on longer courses. For example you make a map with 100 laps to reach the finish, and each lap has 1 minute, so you will spend 100 minutes to finish it :D but no one will ever do that, because it's boring.
The maps in pro competitions have ~1minute, but i can tell you that for me it's already long, because the game requires a lot of concentration, and mine drains to 0 after 45 seconds))

I think this game is what it should be. Nothing crazy, just a good fun game to play alone, with friends on or offline. Enough time to spend on it and has a lot of rewards. It runs super smooth and has a lot of options like duo and a great creator mode. Solid 8.3 for me. Really enjoy this game

I can see that most people forgot that many tracks in the solo campaign of Trackmania Turbo are the same. As in Trackmania 2 Canyon,Trackmania 2 Valley and Trackmania 2 Stadium. Just with some new parts. And only beach is a new environment.
When I see trackmania I know that the game is gonna be great. I think it is very competitive and fun game from start :)
So this gets more than Division, AMAZING!

+laidbackTap well, the game is built around driving around a course at high speed with the fastest time you can get, so having collision in a game like this is like taking Sonic and putting him in a labyrinth.
