    The gist is it matters in a closed society, like in olden times when people used to live in clans. So all people living in a village is closely related. Gotra basically means blood lineage! But in today's society with 1.4 billion population we have huge genetic diversity, not closed clan. It shouldn't matter if you belong to same gotra, possibly you have same ancestors 20-30 generations back , so enough genetic diversity

      Yes Sadhguru has already told the science and everything behind mangalsutra in a video you should search it.
      About the sindur what I've known is that there are points on our body which are called as chakra kshetram and the chakra kshetram of ajna chakra is between the eyebrows and traditionally sindur has mercury (Sadhguru has also talked about mercury's significance) and when sindur is put at ajna or crown chakra kshetram, it slowly unconsciously makes our system aware of the kshetram. But these days they're making sindur mercury free so that defeats the whole purpose.

    More than considering gothra, I believe should marry a person who is from bit far place from you when considering probable genetic issues in offsprings. Because gothra of women changes after marriage and we can't keep track of more than 2-3 generations, however marriages used to happen in nearby communities(places) by getting to know about other person through relatives, so ancesters being siblings is of less chance when marrying someone from far place. Just my theory, eod we forget it all when falling for someone.. haha.

    • @kritika.717
      @kritika.717 Před rokem +2

      Gotra basically comes from the paternal side and not maternal... because we all eventually come from our father and then enter our mother's womb.. so even after the marriage, the children come from the father side initially and not mother... yes mother has the role in developing the child after fertilization. So Gotra system is still functional and correct.
