That man was coming down to make a scene about "how dare you invite a whore to your house on a holy day" cause he had a chip on his shoulder. Little does he know that the courtesan will publicly shame him in a few minutes for visiting brothels himself. The story is a very painful but endearing one, which teaches about how damaging judgement, small-mindedness, and conservatisim can be to a society and an individual. The moral is to let others love who they love.
