      I hate GUN snobs they never consider anything but what they think is best. They think price equates to quality and quality equals reliability. Not the case in many cases. Probably the reason I’m allergic to Glock. Unlike the snobs I don’t say that Glock is not good but personally I think it a standard overpriced common budget gun. The price should reflect those characteristics. Funny it is said Taurus is not reliable but my first semi automatic must have been built on a Tuesday cause it runs and does have a lifetime warranty.

    Still a great pump gun even though it is mostly plastic, czcams.com/users/postUgkxh4su9YgU1tWmjikirWcKJbjsFLEU62Bc but with care it will last a long time. It would be neat if Crosman would make a commemorative version of this with real wood stock, but of course it would weigh more and cost more, but hey, it would be cool. The included scope is more of a toy, but it does work for backyard plinking. I prefer to use pellets for greater accuracy, but BBs are just as good for plinking. This is not a Red Ryder folks; fully pumped it is 3 times the power of a Red Ryder and can be dangerous if not handled properly. Be safe out there.

    My buddy owns a gun store and does ccw classes. He bought the G2c for weekend classes. It has been used every weekend for 6 years and NOT been cleaned once. And has NEVER had a failure, jam or anything of the sort. Obviously, no one should go that long without cleaning a gun. He is legit just seeing what the gun can handle on purpose. Even proving a point of the cheap gun's worth for fun. Sold me on it. I bought one. If he had the G3c, I'd gotten that. Instead I did also get the G3 full size. The second is the mag going into the pistol grip--I've always used rifles where the mag is ahead of the shooting hand, and I prefer that over a mag in the grip or (Gods forbid) a bullpup. It's more familiar to me and I feel my manual of arms is better when I use a rifle where the mag is ahead of my shooting hand.

But when the practicality is to be factored in, you can spend all day on the range with just $100 of ammo instead of $300-$500 and leave feeling satisfied in the ammo's efficiency
      As for the home defense... My carry weapon is a compact(not sub not micro) 9mm pistol... That's my versatile self defense choice and I'm experienced with this pistol so I feel comfortable with it being the tool for that job...BUT ... I've had a 450 marlin "saddle rifle" a 40mm launcher(lost it in a boating accident) an 8mm Mauser, as well as a 10,12,16, and 20ga shotgun ..and none of them felt like they were "enough" ... The details and full layout review style with both pros and cons are straight from a consumer reports magazine as well as the time and effort put into quality and especially editing the uploads. I'm looking for a handgun to grab this summer because I went too big/spent too much on a Ruger lemon awhile back (I can't hit anything with it due to the sights being off after 2 or 3 rounds along with little feed rate issue's constantly). I think the Taurus g3c should get a little better review for the simple reason that you can get Taurus G3 17 round magazines with a grip extender (if you want it) and carry your 12 round in the gun and have an extra 17 rounds, if you carry chambered that gives you 30 rounds on hand with a single reload. Also the Taurus g3c comes with THREE magazines in the box. That is a great value for such a low cost firearm. Mine has 800 rounds down range without a failure, many of which were steel cased.

      @wigon Před 3 lety +1

      @@revsellers The dot sight....honestly I'm thinking of getting rid of and switching back to iron sights as you really have to train like crazy to get a fast sight picture. It's not like a rifle, where the red (or green) dot is just there due to your cheek weld being fairly consistent. With a pistol, there is no cheek weld so your draw and presentation must be the same every time to get a consistent sight picture with a dot sight. Otherwise you're constantly chasing the dot for a second or two which is not good in an extreme emergency. That being said, a dot sight is definitely way more accurate once you get that sight picture. So for longer shots, there is no question that the dot sights are superior to iron sights on pistols. But for most of us it's the 3 to 7 yard distances that are critical. So yeah while the red/green dot sights look super cool, if I were you, I wouldn't be in a rush to get one unless you are willing to practice drawing and dry firing every day with that sight. There's also battery life issues especially on the cheaper ones. So yeah...just things to think about. But overall...yeah the G3C is a fantastic gun and yeah man, those Lakeline barrels are sweeeeet!

    This video has popped up numerous times in my feed, and I've finally watched it. I own a Taurus G2 and it's my carry gun. I've trained with it, but like every one else (except you, most of the YT world that shoots, and John Lovell), I don't shoot enough. I've never had a failure with it. Ever.
    I've shied away from Hi-Point guns for the simple reason that I don't like their ergonomics; but when they work, they work. The 995 set up is damn near perfect for a 10mm carbine, and using that caliber for a PPC would be, in my opinion, ideal regardless of the weapon; in a pistol, it's too much, really, but with a carbine it can be controllable and will NYPD: nock yo' punkass down (thank you, Will Smith and whoever wrote that in to the script for MIB).
    The 10/22 is ubiquitous. I've owned one for 35 years. Great gun. I own a Savage, though not the model you show here. I will attest to the quality of the trigger system.
    My first gun was an H&R single shot 16ga. Pull the trigger back, aim, drop the hammer. It goes boom. It always goes boom.
    I don't own, nor have I ever owned, a M&P Shield, though I know plenty that do. Those who own them rave about them. I can only assume S&W has a sure-fire hit on their hands.
    Thank you for what you do, sir. This is an invaluable asset to the shooting world. Keep up the good work, and bless your wonderful wife for her camera-wielding expertise. This channel would likely be a little less if she were not there. Keep up the good work.

      @dhession64 Před 3 lety

      @@LangstonKinderhook I have a mix in my arsenal. Sadly, the industry standard for mags seems to revolve around Glocks, as you can't get a mag to fit from one pistol to another unless it's a Glock or "Glock compatible", or has a modification for that. At least AK and AR mags are the same.....and different manufacturers conform to it......like Glock. Oy.
      Taurus has been making good solid pistols for a long long time. The one exception to that has been the 709, and I know because I owned one. It's reliable, but the grip was horrendous and the grips on the slide were sub par at best. I was able to overcome that with a Pachmyer wrap around the grip, but it moved around a lot. The trigger has been less than ideal on most of the compact and subcompact designs, but the 709 was abominable. The G2 solved a lot of the issues (except the trigger, which was alleviated some but not totally smoothed out) so I hang on to it. I'm sure it will serve its purpose should it be called upon to do so.

    TX22. It’s basically every midsized striker fired pistol but runs on .22lr. That makes it an amazing piece to introduce safe handling, learn the motions of things like drawing, reholstering, sight picture and alignment, and trigger control. It’s loud enough and makes enough of a muzzle flash to get used to it but not enough so the flinch I see in so many inexperienced shooters becomes deeply ingrained.
    If someone shoots thousands of rounds through the tx22 and carries a similar sized pistol, with adrenaline pumping, they’d have the first five shots down range before they even remembered to incorporate their bad habits. I see it all the time. If someone is pushing because of anticipation or flinching, we shoot the tx22 for a while then they grab the .45 or micro 9 again and as long as I can get them to forget it’s a different gun for a second they are usually dead on target.
    Ideally they transition to their carry gun and practice/training with that...but at first, and especially now during ammogeden I can use a tx22 as a training aid in ways that make it literally pay for itself.
    I won’t longwind it anymore, but the MantisX has a similar function. Over the course of two years buying the MantisX and a .22 trainer pistol will make a better shooter faster and cheaper than the straight path through “where’s the ammo-ville “ That might not make sense for someone who shot a lot as a kid or started as a teenager, but if you’re forty five and just bought a gun last year...that’s your road to marksmanship that’s drilled into your subconscious on a fundamental level.

    I've got one of the original Hi Point Carbines, the one with the stock that makes it look like a space gun. The sights are very intuitive and very accurate. I was shocked at how easy it was to pick up the target and hit it. That is one of the big benefits of the Hi Point in my opinion. It's almost impossible to miss if you even do a slightly shabby job of shooting. It's really that good.
    I was going to buy one of the S&W M&P Shield a few years ago, and had it on layaway. Unfortunately when it was time to pay it off, I was a bit short on funds, so I exchanged the price I had paid towards it and bought an SCCY 9mm. It was a lesser substitute, and I still wanted the Shield. The SCCY didn't really fit my hand very well, so ultimately I gave it to my brother. If I can find one, I'll buy the Shield.

    Those are some very solid recommendations, so let me start by saying thank you for putting this video together, as well as your others.
    I am really close to your choices.
    1. I have the Hi-Point 9545. It's almost a complete clone of the 9mm you showed. It came with the front pistol grip that can be folded away or removed. I purchased the suppressor and tactical light a few months ago. I also ordered the additional 8 round clips that attach to the butt, and a single point swivel sling. What's amazing is that I ordered everything online directly from. Hi-Point and they had it all to me in about 6 or 7 days.
    - Rifle was $285.
    - Suppressor was $25.
    - Two add on clips were only $8! FOR TWO!
    - TAC Light, with Bright, Low and strobe with the finger tip switches so you can either click it on to stay on, our use the top pressure point that only lights up when you apply pressure.
    - Lastly I added the HighGlow red dot.
    So, with the addon's, it cost about $383.
    Great CCA for room to room clearing, with a very solid punch.
    - Next, I bought my daughter and wife Taurus 380 which I got on clearance for only $99! I've run a thousand rounds through it, and (knock on wood) not one stove pipe yet. Plus it's a great noise maker, as it seems to be louder than my 9mm. It also came with a nice suede bag to carry their extra magazine.
    - And to round it out with my daily carry, a RIA 1911 with two 16 round clips, so 17 with one in the chamber. The only draw back is it's a bit heavy when carrying both clips. But it comes with a top and bottom rail. It cost $316, but it's never stove piped after running approximately 2600 rounds through it.

    If $10 is going to hurt you, then you probably don't need your 7th gun.

      So people only spend $300 on a gun when it’s their 7th gun? Don’t be an ass

      Some of my favorite guns were $300 guns, however most of them are used and surplus but those are options many people overlook.

    I started with the G2C and absolutely LOVE IT! never had a issue with it . Even when I got a little money in my pocket I upgraded to the G3C and still extremely reliable gun and pretty straight shooter

    I just bought a Ruger Security 9 last month. I love this pistol. Glad it made the honorable mentions, but with 2 x 15 round clips included with the price just north of $300, she definitely makes my top 5.
