All of these people who touched Freddie's hand in We are The Champions were so, so super lucky. Hope they still remember that they had the chance to see him and touch him when he was on top notch form and at the height of his fame. :D
I was actually in the audience (a free invite for members of the queen fan club) for this (we are the champions) video. It took about 6 takes and then they played a free concert! Brilliant in such a small venue. They even gave away free copies of the single. It was a mid-week afternoon so me and and my girlfriend at the time (Debbie Foster) had to skip school after lunch. Memories memories.
THIS is what you call TALENT. Freddie Mercury never needed Autotune to make his vocals sound decent like many artists today do. All he had was heart, soul, and such a precious gift to make some of the greatest rock music ever. Period. Who cares about his sexual life. That has NOTHING to do with his musical talent and many achievements. :)

Freddie Mercury was a rock legend. He happened to be the best rock singer and best frontman. He was one of the top songwriters and music composers. He was a killer on the piano. He was a musical genius.
Freddie wrote "We are the Champions" to highlight the struggles Queen went through to get to the top. He also wrote it after watching a championship football (soccer) game.
I want to remember what he accomplished, not how he died.

every time i hear this song, it reminds me of when i was i think 10 years old, i was playing little league baseball, undefeated going into the championship game. i caught the game winning flyout to win the game, and they blasted this song.

@aggelos166 Freddie was a performer. In the late '70's this was the way he dressed on stage. He did not dress like this off-stage. Freddie dressed like a regular guy when he wasn't performing.

He started singing WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS MY FRIEND AND WE´LL KEEP ON FIGHTING TILL THE END...
The shark went away, maybe because he sang terribly or perhaps because the song was protective! So, when you´re having a bad day sing thisXD
