how can create in my tascam TA 1-vp more robotic sound in my autotune and vibrate singing effects
How do you think this will work for live if I just leave the same setting as chromatic for the whole thing?
behringer umc1820 how to connect a outboard tascam ta-1vp Thank you brooooo
It’s not the only one. Antares made its own called AVP-1
Yes, they used to. Currently this is the only option for a standalone hardware Autotune processor.
Anyone who knows how to instal clean crispy vocal with the tascam vocal compressor ( like the best way to set up your eq / attack/knee/gate ?
hi , how to use harmony on ta1vp ?
thx
Do you have any idea what the professional singers like Tim McGraw use when live in concert and on TV shows? Is it this hardware? So I guess Tim McGraw's crew will bring to hardware along to the TV shows he performs on and set it up with their sound team too?
I'm not sure what Tim McGraw uses on stage. The TA-1VP will help you add EQ, Compression, mic modeling and pitch correction on stage or in the studio
Very Very likely. We were using hardware tuning over a decade ago on artists far less established than Tim. Main sound turns up with thier own rig.
Standard to mix between a playback vox track and a vocal strip with dynamics and autotune. E.g. If a singer is dancing and singing at the same time and aren't a superhuman like Bey or Shakira, you are most likely hearing playback and then for the lower-energy verses and links, it's live.
What about how to use this for live vocals in a gig performance 🤔
The setup for both is basically the same. The TA-1VP has line out jacks on the back of the unit. So, your microphone would go to the MIC IN port on the front of the unit and then the line out would go to the mixer being used for the live scenario. Chromatic scale uses all notes, so that could be great for fx, but if you need a more dialed in scale, that would possibly need to change on a song by song basis - depending on the scales of the songs being performed.
Pls make a 2024 Version we need
Does this perform better than like a Scartlet 2i2 when recording with a microphone. I’m not sure
Hello! The TA-1VP isn't an audio interface, so it doesn't act in the same fashion as the unit you mentioned. However, the TA-1VP does have incredible preamps, plus the ability to model various microphones, as well as the ability to pitch correct vocals.
Hi, I have a question: in TUBE mode, how much vocal gain can you get? just a little warmh or can it distort the voice completely?you can get a radio tone or something more aggressive? this does fails to appear in the video. I need a unit that distorts my voice. thanks
Hello Jose! Yes, the tube mic setting on the TA-1VP was created so that you can change the "tube warmth" parameters. The more you increase the tube warmth, the more saturation and distortion you'll get.
@@TASCAMUSA aa ok, so if it reaches aggressive levels of distortion. thank you
Where should I put the TA-1VP in my rig chain??
Below are the hardware devices and the flow I currently
use.
my rig components:
Shure MV7x mic
SAMSON S-COM4
PRESONUS BLUETUBE V2
TASCAM TA-1VP
PRESONUS AUDIOBOX USB96
Currently, the setup is as follows:
MV7x mic into the Bluetube v2
then into the S-com4
then into audiobox
then into computer
Hello! The Bluetube v2 could be cut out of the equation because the TA-1VP is also a high quality microphone preamp. Swap those two out and the rest of your chain can stay the same!
@@TASCAMUSA Will do, thanks!!
Hi ! How to midi control it ? Could you explain it to me please ?
Hello! Every variable module parameter of the TA-1VP can be controlled via MIDI. Use the MIDI out of the controller (such as a MIDI fader box or MIDI sequencer) into the MIDI in on the TA-1VP.
For a complete listing of all parameters that can be controlled with MIDI, check out page 23 of the TA-1VP manual.
Anyone have an issue singing normally without autotune button on? I connect the TA 1vp and I sound off. When I connect direct mic without using TA I sound fine. If I turn on autotune on chromatic scale preset I sound off. Even though it should pitch correct when I sing?
Hello! Chromatic scale by definition is twelve pitches which cover all available notes. Typically, we see this being used as an effect more than a tool to sing on-pitch. Try setting the scale to the key of the song you're singing with rather than Chromatic.
Does it have automatic detect for the autotuning? For real time processing during live performances?
Hello! The TA-1VP will real-time pitch correct signal coming into the unit. The only thing that might need to be adjusted is the key for the correction.
Does it have a reverb or echo option?
Hello! The TA-1VP has a lot of features (i.e. pitch correction, microphone modeling, compressor, gate, de-esser, EQ, and tube saturation), but reverb and echo are not among them.
Ok. I use Shure mv7x. It isn't close to any mics on the presets. Is there a firmware update that has more mics listed??
The models listed in the TA-1VP are sort of broad categories. So, technically your MV7X is a studio dynamic. You can try either that, or the handheld dynamic option. Either of those should do just fine, but I feel as though the studio dynamic will probably be better for you!
@@TASCAMUSA Thanks for the reply!!
Yes, but can it work on 240 volts, or does it require 120?
The power supply for the TA-1VP is an automatic switching power supply from 100-240 volts
How do some artist get it to work on their wireless mic?
Hello! The wireless microphone receiver would need to be plugged into the XLR input on the TA-1VP.
can I connect the TA-1VP to my Scarlett 18i20?
Yes, that is definitely possible.
Will this unit ever be updated? Aside from the obviously outdated interface and design, I’ve found the preamps to be noisy if gained with occasional pops and clicks on even a medium retune speed. On a big PA, this can be pretty obtrusive.
Most A-level artists are using an Apollo to get around these issues, but I actually still like using this unit because it’s safer to travel with, you can leave it connected, and frankly it’s cheaper. I’m an advocate despite its issues, but man you guys could really dominate if you overhauled it.
Drop me a line if you ever plan to - I know the thing in and out and know exactly what it needs.
Hello Eric!
Glad to hear that you're a fan of the TA-1VP despite the issues you're finding with your particular unit. The popping and clicking issue and added noise is interesting. The preamps in the TA-1VP are our Ultra-HDDA preamps, which are very high quality with a low s/n ratio and considerable dynamic range. These preamps are found in our flagship products (such as the Model 12/16/24, etc) and this isn't something that we hear about the Ultra-HDDA pre's in customer feedback.
Do you find that this issue persists constantly, or does it come and go? When you're in front of your TA-1VP feel free to call our tech team at 323-726-0303 and they may be able to offer some solutions to the issue!
@@TASCAMUSA I only notice noise when adding makeup gain if I’m using any compression. It’s not a dealbreaker, but more than I wish.
I’ve implemented 7 different TA-1VPs for different artists over the last several years. Every single one makes occasional pops/clicks regardless of gain, sensitivity, retune speed, etc. From speaking with my MD peers here in LA, this (and the antiquated interface and lack of XLR output) are the primary barriers that prevent them from implementing the unit in their own shows.
@@eldowns me ajuda a configurar por favor? Qual seu Instagram?
I have been eyeing this for a while, but just as Eric Downs said, it's a little bit outdated. There are some features that I would be looking for in this.
1. Maybe an option for ADAT out so you can get raw, auto tuned, de-ssed, compressed, etc all as separate or combined depending on what you want.
2. An updated interface
However, having auto-tune in hardware from is amazing and I'm really looking at it for that.
@@eldowns What are they using at shows?
great job sean!
So I bought this yesterday and to my rehearsal space. However the AutoTune did not work whatsoever. The Gate/De Esser/ Compression worked however the autotune was not working at all. I took it to guitar center, i called sweet water, i took it to my friends that also have the same thing and they said it MUST BE DEFECTIVE! I have the TC HELICON C1 pedal as backup. But i really wanted to use this for my shows this weekend. Is there anything that comes to mind that would make the autotune not work???
Nachi, that's a very bizarre issue, indeed. When you get back to the studio and are sitting in front of the unit, give our tech team a call at 323-726-0303 and we'll go over the setup and do a little troubleshooting to make sure everything is good to go!
Hey I was gonna get this too but everyone says the version of antares on it is 10 years old. And on your Tc helicon c1 pedal I tried dozens of times to ask the company If they updated their algorithms in their autotune pedal and they refuse to answer me probably cause is the same shit since 2004 when the c1 came out. The only one in curious about is the peavy at mixer that has autotune
@@matthaberektascam has autotune EVO algorithim. Its basically the Classic mode but antares sounds way better than tc helicon.

That is correct!
How much latency does this unit have?
Zero to very low latency
@@TASCAMUSA can you give exact figures in milliseconds? Would like to know if this considerably faster than my RME interface at 64 Samples with autotune as a VST.
It’s not the only hardware autotune, the ATR-1 exists
While it's true that the ATR-1 and ATR-1a exist, they were discontinued some time ago and are no longer in production.
@@TASCAMUSAbut what about Antares AVP-1 then?
Hello @@ninasazonova2511 ! That is also an older and discontinued unit.
There’s also two Peavey mixers with antares autotune and Headrush just came out with two pedals with it.
You guys should really showcase the autoune function better. Im sure most people buy it for the live autotune function but you only seem to pander to old heads looking for a broadcast channel strip. There is a huge audience out there that are specifically looking for that hard tune Travis Scott sound.
Thanks for the info! We'll see what we can do about all that!
Anyone know how I can have two mics work with this bad boy?
Autotune corrects one vocal at a time, it's not too great in live situations without the right mic either due to crowd bleed, to build harmony either use separate hardware/plugin or double the take and stack your vocals
Eu uso ela ao vivo com dois microfones posso te ensinar.
How can I get one in China?
I would suggest contacting our distributor in China, you can find them at: tascam.com/us/support/distributor
U get it blank?
Oooooo really? Shit I just want an
at 3:45, he said its tuned vocal and i believe him but, I heard some notes out of tunes.. maybe its the autotune not working well in real time
Nah it’s probably cause the guys so flat that the unit is just tuning down to the closest notes
Kinda bad, but overall a good product.
Why is it bad?
The vocals on the demo track sound out of key
Is this what Travis Scott be using ? I don’t like autotunepro it’s harsh af and clips my voice ugly af when at its max. I wanted to try out the tpain effect vst but it doesn’t sell anymore online. I want to try out a tc version of autotune but they have so many idk what the fuck to get. I bought a boss ve 500 but have t had the Time to be able to use it since it’s wall plug powered
@@HarrisonClayton-jh9vp nah I want it to be noticeable but autotunepro cranked to the max doesn’t sound good to me. I’m purchasing a tc helicon for its hardtune. A lot has to do with my skill level though. And beat choice. Like the melody has to be fresh ya know some catchy chords. Thanks for a settings tip though will try it out sometime
