That end, pocket hole comment, was priceless my friend!! I've built close to 100 face frames for kitchen cabinets. And all of them used pocket holes. They all look great, and once the kitchen is installed, no one can tell what was used! Take care.

If you ever move, you're going to want to take those cabinets with you. They look so nice! :)

My thinking is, that room doubles the value of the house. So the cabinets can stay.

I stopped watching your videos for a time because I took a break from woodworking to go to college I am catching up on them. Some people might complain about you having thousands of dollars in tools, but I remember when you had a very modest shop and am very glad you continue to grow.

Since she's watching, does your sweet grandma read comments too? 'Cause she's clearly the best. Loving the progress here, thanks for the updates.

I don't think she reads comments - but I know my mom does! (hi Mom!) Sometimes she will get defensive on my behalf for comments I didn't even know I had.

Brudaddy is sucking up to Mattias I see. ;) I would love to see a pockethole user do a Mattias style hop on the furniture to show pocketholesare super good enough...but at my weight, that aint happening

In my imagination, when you attached the frame to the body, you timed all the brad-nail shots to the beat of "Another One Bites the Dust" by Queen. It was awesome, well done.

Should have used flat head screws in the pocket holes instead. Drew would approve. :)

Let's see... Pocket holes and I build myself, or.... Big box store prefab piece of junk...
    I'll stick with pocket holes.
Lazy is t always a bad thing.
And the end result is still a quality piece that is exactly what you need. Opportunity cost, time value, and all that.
    Viva la gunflint

It is the difference between getting it done and putting it off for a hobbyist at least Pocket holes mean I can tackle it in a timely manner. Fancy joinery means I'll likely never start.

If Pocket Holes help make a piece come together, I say why not use them. Nobody will know, unless they examine the piece very carefully. Good job.

  • @mcmathwoodworks

Pocket holes?! The audacity! Don’t you know that pocket holes ALWAYS make furniture Explode?!?!
If you were a Real woodworker you would have just spent 40 hours meticulously hand-carving blind dovetails so that when people come into your secret man cave to inspect your cabinet joints, they won’t be disgusted by simple butt joints and offensive pocket holes! Be fancier.
    Lol 😆

    • @GunflintDesigns
      @GunflintDesigns  Před rokem +2

Yep, nailed it! Speaking of nails - maybe I'll abandon pocket holes in favor of pounding nails straight through joints.
