Colonel Tom Parker must be running FTD these days Ed
Elvis in Boston!!!
These are nice but I still have my original blue vinyl from 77’ still sounds good to me
You should try Memphis recording Service CDs live concerts. Blows everything else away. Opened a new door in live music
This is great news, Ed. Love this album, I easily have a dozen different versions of the original in my collection, can't stop now! Cheers!
I just can't stop buying Elvis records. From used RCA to Waxtime reissues to VPI to MRS to FTD to MOFI. I think I am in deep trouble.
I'm happy that Elvis LPs are still getting pressed. But I'll just hang on to my original RCA vinyls. I still have the original "Blue" album also.
I always have to decide which is worse: the fear of missing out or the regret of not getting it before the price skyrockets on Ebay... Never an easy decision.
Aww, that's absolutely FANTASTIC, Ed!! (cos I missed this on the first run!).
Thankfully, I got the "Elvis Presley Boulevard" in Blue Vinyl, this year! 💙
But you're right (as Mark raised this week), the "bigger" picture is, that FTD is finally doing (or are prepared to do!), repressings of their back catalogue, and respond to their market...hallelujah!! 👏👏👏 For guys like me, who missed the first 20 or so releases on Vinyl, this is like "manna from heaven"!! 🤗👍
I’m in the same situation so I will buy one if I know where to do so?
@danieloverbee2411 For sure, Daniel! 👍 I assume we'll see it at some stage on the 'FTD Shop' website. (4,000 copies gives us a 'reasonable' chance to snag one!). 👍🤗
I've Got The CD / 8-Tracks....
We are all getting ‘snowed’
Only if you’re buying essentially the same thing again. For fans that missed it the first time around it’s a great opportunity get it.
SUPER ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Great Video Ed!!
Still waiting for Harum Scarum or Paradise Hawaiian Style FTD's.
Thank you for sharing this 💚 Take care 💛 Ed&Fam❤
Hi Ed, I think this is excellent news. In my opinion there is no need to be disappointed at all. I always thought that FTD will repress at some point some of the previous records. The 1st FTD Moody Blue Lp is on Ebay right now for 800$ and impossible to get otherwise. I reckon FTD Memphis Boulevard followed a different approach since the demand was so high for it so they did an immediate repress. Hopefully FTD will follow this path with other hard to get different titles, of course alternating them with brand new stuff. We just need to wait patiently for it....
Well this is definitely a money grabber in my opinion. But I will have to say to myself …… Shut Up!! and take my dam money FTD! 💰 💰💰🤣🤣🤣👍🏻😂
F***!! 😅 I totally agree with your point Ed!
@josip…Complete money grab! Minimal investment for maximum gain. However, I’m a 🍭, so where’s my wallet?⚡️
@@sturmgewehr70 haha 😂 wait.. let’s make sure we don’t over pay and slip out more then we can. 🤣🤣👍🏻 Definitely at the end we are 🍭 to have in our collection, collectively....cause why not? 😆
You could look at as a money grab or responding to the request of fans who missed out on this release the first time. FTD is definitely testing the demand for these rereleases. Clever marketing by making it “limited edition”. Good way to trigger the I got get it now response from fans who missed the original and collectors who gotta have it all. Crazy price increase but better than paying hundreds of dollars in the secondary market for an album that many just want to listen to.
@@sentinel3504 of course and I totally agree 👍🏻.
i,ve just pre ordered it.Cant wait ,as i missed out on the first ftd pressing and cant afford the silly asking prices for it
I think it's cool 🤷♂️
The essential elvis series back in the 80s and 90s was really gud . .....that would make a gud release ...or an explanded .." for the asking" ....with outakes ......👍🎵✨💿🎙👍👑
The reIssued FTD vinyls are excellent for a guy like me, who missed out. I can however understand fans who already own the original releases and would like something new. I think they should release all and new stuff. I believe the demand is there. Elvis vinyl collectors are a fan base for sure.🕺😎
FTD is definitely checking to see if the demand is there
Since epe owns this time period in the jungle room
Sessions they should put out a FTD box set of everything like ‘ the last farewell box set….’
Great video! (From a collecting POV), I'm hit or miss with re-releases. If they are done in a new way that makes it physically attractive, I bite. Otherwise, I tend to pass (if I own the original). (In my KISS collecting world), rumors are spreading that KISS is going to announce a new release priced around $900 this month. Huh? I immediately went to this 'rumor' when you mentioned $75 for the new colored vinyl. It sucks. We love to collect, and they have us by the balls, because they know (or think) we will pay. Regardless, as always, I dig your passion, love seeing your dogs, and appreciate your great content. Your channel is always a great reminder why it is fun to be a fan (of any band). Have a great weekend.
LOL they need to come out the rest of the movie soundtracks and the wonderful world of christmas lp like you said lol
We need An Afternoon in the Garden to be released on Double Vinyl in 2032.
Think The Blue Is Beat
I have the 70s version that will do the Ed
I'm looking forward to this as it's something i think is genuinely cool. I like they changed the cover itself.
Hi Ed
I would never understand the point of doing a reissue of a reissue, a reissue if it's just to change the color of the disc
It's nice for those of us who don't have it to not have to pay hundreds of dollars for it on eBay.
Not everybody bought this stuff the first time around.
Well one thing it does as it saves some fans from paying ridiculous prices for an album they want to have to listen to. I would say that’s looking out for your customers.
I’ve just ordered the 'From Elvis Presley Boulevard' and the GI Blues 4 x CD SET. I may get the new Moody Blue as I don’t have it.
It's £60 in the UK.
There will always be someone somewhere out there that will buy these reissues over reissues. And that's exactly why FTD does this because they know it will sell.
I don't know about the gold but I used to have the blue I don't know what happened I have no so many times I probably lost it
I am very pleased that they are rereleasing this album. I didn’t get it in 2015 and the only other way to get these outtakes on vinyl would be to buy a copy of the 2015 release at a hugely inflated price.
I agree that Standing Room Only and Elvis Is Back would also be great to rerelease and who knows, maybe they are coming soon.
I don’t know what you are so upset about Ed. If you don’t want it, don’t buy it. Simple.
👍
It has not gone up ,it is the same price as the boulevard on blue vinyl was £59.99 , the ftd boulevard on black vinyl was £49.99
I read the prices were going up again. Glad I was wrong. 👍
Hello Mr. Ed. I am glad you are excited. Me? Not so much! I am really getting bored with these reissues. The Good Times álbum would be an excellent reissue. I really think RCA and Elvis or the Col missed a Golden opportunity not releasing Talk About The Good Times as a single release! Would have been a smash hit! But……
I like your new glasses!
I’m a bit concerned that FTD vinyl is going down the road of Friday Music went, going so far, then doing loads of reissues, then packing up altogether!
Yes I'm waiting all ftd's lp's to be re-released and price for me have to be cut down half...
At that price most people would just be content with the 2015 re-release I kind of think some of this $70.00 pice tag is price gouging but at some point if they keep upping the price on these albums people are going to start pushing back and stop buying theses albums
I will stick with my CD’s as always lol😂
Great re-release all of them now FTD
HI Ed I totally I agree with what you are saying ! But i missed out on the first FTD Moody Blue so personally happy its been rereleased rather than paying the massive ebay prices Regards Mike
👍
I have the original blue and it still plays. I wonder how much it would sell for.
There are so many copies out there in blue it probably isn't worth much. OG black vinyl Moody Blue are pretty rare and worth more!
I believe the Black Vinyl is version is rarer in the US, (not that I would sell my Blue copy from 1977, it's a fantastic record).
Your lucky if you get $5 😊
I'm not selling it, it's original before he passed away. I've always loved it.
@@mileshigh1321there are two versions of the black vinyl. Both rare but not impossible to find. I found both in recent years and paid well under $100 for each one in mint condition
Shipping June 2
And why are not some Bonus-Tracks included?! I would love to listening to some unreleased live 1977 "Well, Well, Well, Well, Weeell..." Routine😆
Thank You Ed
I would still by the new FTD double gold Moody Blue, but i won't get the FTD black vinyl From Elvis Presley Blvd. Too expensive. I have the blue vinyl already.
Where’s the repressing of the TTWII 50th set? Theres so much more that could be done with that whole thing. So much unreleased video. Was there ever an official vinyl of the practice sessions? Those are my favorite of all the TCB band stuff. It’s so raw & on fire. Before the band played the songs so much they probably didn’t care for them much anymore.
You’re right where is the release of that material without the added expense of the books? Not all fans were aware of or able to obtain the gray market release of all that material years ago. For some the original cost of the FTD may have been out of their budget. That material is too good to be unavailable to all the fans.
I will bye
I just picked up a vinyl copy of Good Times for £8.99 in a charity shop yesterday. I have seen it go for silly money on eBay.
If it is a copy of FTD vinyl Good Times, you definitely got a bargain.
Just a standard copy which I find hard to find anyway
@@SteveOSpielberg still a cool find. It’s an interesting album for me. One of my favorites but has a couple songs on it that I just don’t care for.
FYI. Numbered total 4000 editions
Ed, FTD should you release the outtakes first then do the different kinds of rereleases
Have not RCA reissue lps since day one not a new thing , I bet most of you have more than the first pressing of most albums in your collection
Are you subbed to 'Scotty's Elvis Presley Music Channel'? It has tons of reviews and essential info.
I am and it does. 👍
i was hoping for a soundtrack lp bro.moody blue gold. tan label. 2015 us black label.i might get it will see
I agree enough of the repacking of the same shit over and over. Must be the same people running the show at RCA for the last 45 years. It will be another 45 years before they put out everything All of us hard core ELVIS fans will be dead. They have tons of stuff . release it all.
I concur
I'm fine with it - as you said - we don't have to buy it. I think the frustration is that us completists FEEL like we have to buy it. This is what pissed me off years ago, until I realized that it's really MY problem. EP Blvd., besides the change in vinyl, has a slightly different catalogue number. Things like this will help maintain a lot of the value on the first pressings. To those people who say this is just a money grab...there's no question you're right. SONY/BMG/FTD are in the business to make money. I think Paul McCartney came out with something recently that had 4 vinyl variations and you couldn't tell which one you were getting. So it's up to us to decide what to collect. They know there are are a sizable number of people (numbskulls ? LOL) like me who are going to jump on them.
Where can we preorder this do you have a link?
I understand you’re not happy understandable but, would love a link if you can share?
Love your channel
Don’t have a link to provide. Not sure who’s taking pre orders at this time
@@TheKingsCourt1972 thanks
I think this is a cash grab for FTD. I don't want to but I'll unhappily buy it.
Look if it’s new you buy it what the heck doesn’t get opened anyway
Hmmmm….. sounds like a rip off to me.
My 3 repress suggestion ( UK )
1) Golden Records Vol 2
2) A Date with Elvis
3) Golden Records Vol 3
I’m not interested in reissues. I have both original albums. Moody Blue album from ‘77 and From Elvis Presley Boulevard’76
My original copy of Moody Blue does pop and crackle a fair bit now, so this might be a nice addition, (if I can get past the asking price).
These are for a particular type of collector. 😊
God bless you, I sometimes wish I didn't feel compelled, but it's a hobby. You're attitude makes perfect logical sense. But for some, like me, that ship has sailed.
@@TheElvisRecordCollector-qp4jt The real problem with these FTD releases are fans are not getting their copies cuz certain people buy them just to flip them on the secondary market. That’s where the problem lies, but what can we do?
@@FrankieLovesElvis the only FTD CD I own is Elvis Live in NewHaven CT 1976 and I paid a hefty price for it. But I wanted that particular CD because I was at that concert.
Better than releasing one of those stupid sound track albums.
You must be a newbie 😮
Why? I thought everyone wanted a another copy of Clambake 😁
@@TheElvisRecordCollector-qp4jt I do…😊
Think ill skip
have a question why cant people forget camden and picwick throw thoses lp in the garbage every channel talk about it
To each their own
worthless just like having fun on stage do u have the cassette version
Nope
