I will say, as a new customer of yours, us record buyers love the videos mostly for how honest you are about the sound of records. I took your advice and bought Bill Withers hit mofi and Kirsten record which both sound just incredible.

I wish Mofi would do the first Whitney. Yes, the second has the hits but really her first one is a better overall album. Ill probably pick the Mofi up of the second though at some point. Whitney was a helluva talent.

I have the original in mint condition and the Mofi one. I was really dissapointed by the mofi version which is super bright and sibilant. A lot of the reviews on Discogs agree that it's a bad master The original recordings were already sibilant but the mofi version took it to an entirely new level of crazy.
Im a 44yr old man, there's no way in hell a Whitney fking Houston album is entering my house, i don't care if its the greatest sounding album of all time.
@@charlesgund4812 It's in the same ballpark as this recent Phil Collins reissue album that's apparently fantastic sounding, I can't believe people will pay actual $ for an album they will never listen to just because the reissue sounds better than the original. I can't wait for the Mofi or UHQR Barry Manilow pressings I'm sure they'll smoke the originals 🤣
@@crazyprayingmantis5596 thing is that it’s got to the stage that these audiophile labels know they can release any sh1t and it will sell…as many of these guys just buy for the pressing. For years, I’ve been crying out for MFSL and AP to do more 90’s stuff and onwards. They have dabbled with weezer, pixies etc and AP now with the white stripes. There is more material on tape probably than people realise from this era that could even be done analog…like the pixies, nirvana, sound garden. It’s just these labels pick the more less desirable stuff…probably cos it’s easier to licence something like the Whitney Houston catalog.
Whitney was super sibilant on multiple tracks for me. Was disappointed. Not sure if I got a bad press, but I've seen a lot of similar complaints, so I don't think so. The tracks that sound good sound very good. The ones that don't make me wish I hadn't spent the money. Overall I wouldn't buy it again.
Why throw records in the dumpster? You can always donate them to Goodwill or Saint Vinnie's. They'll take them. Someone might like that music and then the money goes towards a charitable cause. Also, for someone who loves vinyl as much as you and myself, I kind of cringe at the idea that you're willing to just pitch vinyl into the dumpster, no matter what the genre or era of music.
They can’t sell it either. Are you buying Lawrence Welk Records? Some stuff is just unsellable. Just because something is old doesn’t make it valuable or wanted.

I'm not an environmentalist or a recycle fanatic, but I do live in a pristine area of Upper Michigan, and I love nature. Fortunately, Goodwill and St. Vinnie's in our area are still willing to take old unwanted records. Also, Antique Stores take them. I recently read about a Record Company in Germany that they're putting music on recyclable vinyl. How the music sounds I have no idea? But with the millions and millions of vinyl records in the world, I hate the idea of them eventually ending up in land fills. With you buying such large record collections, I'm sure you must end up with many unwanted records. I don't have any solutions for you, except to maybe just give them away at your Record Store. It might even generate some business for you. Just food for thought the next time you have a pile of unwanted records. I'll let this issue rest now, and just enjoy your channel.
original is original. not secondary. your technology is not the poor man's technology. personally, anything new... a la Steve Wilson... qualifies, or exceeds, originality. it may be an honest lure for todays attractive youth... or taking the p*ss out of the very people that made them stars. the originals have paid... only to pay again ?!

I was at an antique mall and found the DG box of Carmen. I opened it up and it had a nice signature from Marilyn Horne... Bought that for a dollar!

I love this version of Whitney so clear and the separation is fantastic. This one is a keeper for sure.
