    erm big sam was in the stand when everton won against west ham. so his best result was when he wasn't fully in charge yet.

      @@Stoofer. Nah, one of the league losses in Jan/Feb of the 16/17 season: 2-3 vs Swansea, 2-0 at Hull, or 3-1 at Leicester (those sides finished 15th, 18th, and 12th). That Man City game was turned on the red card and then the ref not having the balls to call the penalty and send Otamendi off with his 2nd yellow at 1-0. Probably the 2-0 at relegation fodder Hull...

    Everton were managed by David unsworth against west ham. Sam was in the stand, so probably had an impact but the game was unsworth's

    Allardyce had nothing to do with that West Ham game. He was announced as manager the morning of that game, sat in the stands and watched. David Unsworth took charge of the team. Allardyce even took credit for this game which made it even worse.

    Don't forgot Holloway said he'd never leave Plymouth Argyle for Leicester, claiming the rumours were 'utter nonsense'. He then proceed to leave (Argyle were top half Championship side at the time) and relegate Leicester, losing to Argyle in the run in. Such sweet revenge

    Stuart Pearce? Yeah, not a great manager and made some terrible decisions, but he wasn't as bad as Alan Ball. With a much worse win rate, our best result was a 1-0 win over Aston Villa at Villa Park, which was his last win in the top flight and also meant we'd done the double over them (beating them 1-0 at Maine Road earlier in the season). But he's not even the worst: That honour would have to fall to John Benson - in charge for just four months, 17 games and just three wins (2 draws and 12 losses) with the best result a 2-0 away win at West Brom (or maybe the 2-0 home win against West Ham, I can't decide which).
