Passenger Trainz

- Passenger trains in the United States were once some of the most luxurious ways to travel used by celebrities, politicians, and dignitaries alike to get where they needed to go. You could go basically anywhere on the train! First class service was the standard and high profile trains like the 20th Century Limited, Broadway Limited, Coast Daylight, El Capitan, The Blue Comet, among many others. Steam, diesel, and electric power painted in bright colors complimented the rake of often brand new, exclusive coaches built for the train. While modern day train travel in the US by Amtrak also has its benefits and is nice in its own ways, it would be a disservice to not remember where the modern passenger train was derived from. Here's another Trainz music video featuring a montage of various fast and or notable passenger locomotives and their accompanying trains.

Pentrak
Nice
Choo Choo
do you have the link to the specific version of Coronation Scot used in the vid?
@@DerpyPossum I'm not sure what the orchestra's name is but I got it from this video: czcams.com/video/mrndSjtSdRY/video.html
Orchestral music + some speedy steam and diesel bois + nice camera angle = absolute perfection
Love it! The combo between retro trains and orchestral music is perfect.
Back when America thrived in passenger rail. What the hell happened? We used to build absolute masterpieces.
Ikr? Cars and planes happened. People then didnt want to take the trains and it all later became what it is now.
@@amcaljosh Cars are fast, but you have to deal with traffic, less space for people, and slower speed limits. Planes are good, but, they get more and more expensive as the years go on, you can't hold nearly as many people as a train, and the aviation business is being put in jeopardy because of a jet fuel shortage. Not to mention the large amount of plane crashes in the past decade.
After WWII, cars and planes started taking away passenger business, then in the 60's the government cancelled the mail contracts for all passenger trains in the country which rendered basically every passenger train unprofitable. Because of this, railroads began discontinuing tons of services and the few that were left often used old, dirty equipment that was 20 years out of date. This left a poor taste in many American's mouths, and put passenger trains in a bad light. Ever since then, Amtrak and many other passenger services have been struggling to shake that image.
Atleast you’re saying GP40s, F40s, etc. are masterpieces lol
Long Answer:
70 years of railroad overregulation
The government using tax dollars (some of which came from railroads) to build airports and highways, directly giving money to their competition.
And of course, people wanting to use the new highways and airports
Short Answer: the United States government

I've seen this engine so many times at the Illinois Railroad Museum, but these shots here make me see it alot different. Thank you
It's always a good day when AmtrakGuy uploads a Trainz video
Cuz of this video I’m making a video about the coronation scot with the song cuz. This video got me addicted to that song
The music sounds like something from a children's educational series.
As a lifelong New Haven fan, I thank you for including the EP-5
and the I-5
As a big fan of the Empire State Express, it's hard to beat that drive-by at 1:58
Amtrakguy365 out here dropping the most amazing and astonishing trainz cinematics footage you will ever see
Ahhh the Great American railroad at work!!
Back to the good ol' days!

This video perfectly captured the American passenger trains of 1939 and postwar 1945, Jared. Nice job!
liked video
Honestly the streamlined K4 was the most unique streamliner. It was brown, the funnel had a cartoon effect, and overall it looks cool and had a unique case
I like when the trumpets make a whistle noise and you sync it with it lol
You found ways to release serotonin science has never come close to
The Pere Marquette 1225 Would Fit Perfectly in this Video
It's not a passenger engine
@@WesternOhioInterurbanHistoryit is for the polar express event
This is pretty cool it really makes you feel nostalgic I was born way too late to see all these famous trains I've read about in books and seen a documentaries I was born 91 I'll be 30 in a couple of months and man would have been nice to live back in those times when things were so much simpler because today everything is just way too dadgum complex for my taste
Mind You, the music in the video is called "Coronation Scot", and we start off with a loco from Pennsylvania that ALREADY LOOKS like a Coronation.
Woah
Finally someone who uses the paulz trainzs j3a
Very nice. The NP 2626 has to be my favorite shot.
''The golden age of travel''
Beautiful, just beautiful.
The passnger trains were very popular over the years ago and now there bringing back the steam era again on most steam locomotives
0:54Yessss! I’ve been waiting for the 4-4-2 Atlantic to show up in one of these videos, the Twin cities Hiawatha is my favorite train in the history of American rail.
1:51 thank you for adding new haven i-5 hudson this locomotive is my favourite
Beautiful!!! This is amazing!

When you realize a railroad in your county has/had a 2-10-4:
Nice one.
That was so good it almost makes me want to make the same thing!!
This is the best video you have ever made.
Wow! Nice trainz
Outstanding amazing video
Awesome Video
Well done ending with the 20th Century Limited and Broadway Limited racing each other.
Awesome video! The music sounded classical but had the fast pacing of something like looney tunes, keep up the great work!!
This is a great video
Nice
@1:54 oh look, it’s ‘The Blue Comet’ train.
I just want to point out that at 0:27, this locomotive has what looks like a horn in the corner above the smokebox.
Yes
It does, most GS- classes have Leslie horns.
It does have a horn
good show
Noticed that the Pigtails reappear 3 times, with their different evolutions of passenger engines, the first being the K4, then the T1, and finally EMD E series diesels. Was that an Easter egg?
Ooo really nice
i really like that burlington zephyr
I love Hudsons.
Video idea: Excursion Trainz. A montage of excursion stars like 4449 844 etc. Just an idea for you
Classics
Please do one, but with modern Amtrak trains, maybe even one but for Amtrak on the NEC, my favorite
the problem is, a lot of the music is meant to sound like steam locomotives, especially the beginning and 0:42, and we all know Amtrak has no steam locomotives
Of course I will like it
Passenger Trainz means = Passenger Train In Trainz Game
Hey cool, I suggested this!
Legend.
1:15 werid to see the Mars light on while the locomotive is running but that pretty interesting actually
Coronation scot
1:50 where can I get that route where that New Haven I-5 is running through?
Good times 😢
Cgi still like the good old CZcams days😀
uh, its a video game lol
This has been an Amtrakguy365 production.
Train + orchestra = orchestra train😂
i do love me some American steam locomotives
The daylight had a different front
And I will say this much Amtrak does not do justice to what passenger trains did back then
Another outstanding video! These are certainly worth waiting for
Cool vid, but I don't see the J class in the description, where do I get that?
Some familiar roads...
