Omgosh! I'm so excited for this one!!!! All the performances from Beste Zangers are just so good, but Floor really shone throughout the whole thing. 💛
Okay! This was such a good reaction! Once again, Jess is spot on with being able to tell me WHY I love certain things about a song. Lol. On a side note, one of the things I love best (beste?) about this show is that it's not a competition. It's just good singers from different genres coming together to celebrate each other and their love of music and I am always here for that.
Side note the second, I also found it so amusing when they were blown away every time Floor got up to sing something in yet another style. Them: "Surely she can't sing this style, too?" Floor: "Hold my wine."
Vilja Lied was the first song she sang in the show. It was for Henk Poort, who was someone she admired growing up. I think that performance really set the stage for the rest of the show.

Yes! This was the first time the rest of the group had heard her sing. They knew her as a metal singer so needless to say she surprised them all. It’s amazing to see them fall in love with her talent throughout the season.

This show actually gave Floor something she's been lacking and that is recognition in her native country. She's finally a star in The Netherlands. It only took about 22 years of singing. And she has been singing that good since she was 16. Personally, I think it's a shame for such a talented woman to wait that long.

@@jessicasopranonotes Hi Jessica, so happy you finally got to FLoor's performances from this unique show, there are 2 pivotal events since Floor Jansen came aboard NW in late 2012 #1 Wacken 2013 - #2 Beste Zangers 2019 at this popular Dutch tv show filmed on Ibiza some top Dutch singers past & present get together and the person on the center couch for the day has one of their songs or a song that has meaning to them sung back to them reinterpreted by the other singers,novel idea .
Floor opened the show with the 1st song below and just blew everyones mind,only two of the other singers knew who Floor was but none of them had heard her sing with such versatility,after the 8 day run of the show Floor's & NW's popularity soared,stadiums filled up and ticket sales shot up.btw since Floor joined NW & after this show NW's fan base has tripled . on Mama by Samantha S. Floor completely changes the tempo and song structure ,the song is about Samantha wanting to be more like her Mom, Que Se Siente by Rolf is originally a merenge ,mambo type song so of course Floor does it her way,Winner by Tim A. he wrote for his brother who has Spina Bifida,About Love, Ruben wrote about his parents divorce.

@@nicod1361 She is a megastar, known worldwide, just not in all of Europe or all of the US. Scandinavia though, oh yes. South America, fuck yes. Wherever people love metal, they know her.
I know Floor is well known in the metal world but I do think she is one of the most underrated singers in the world. Love your reaction/breakdown.
Next one would definitely have to be Vilja Lied (Floor sings it in German.) It's actually the first performance of the season and nobody knew what to expect, other than she was a... um... "metal singer." Metal is not very popular in the Netherlands, at least not before Floor's performances on Beste Zangers.

It’s funny how her performance of Puccini’s “Oh, Mio Babbino Caro” (and her Phantom of the Opera duet here) are pretty much her being a diplomat and saying “You don’t have to be scared of us just because we like metal. I won’t even use my growl voice.”
And that Christmas performance where she’s super pregnant was pretty damn wholesome.

Stabat Mater Dolorosa... Purely orchestral classical harmony duet in the middle of a metal concert with a tear-jerker Latin text. Gets me every time. Not much like Sancta Terra except the singers' mutual fondness.
She went on this show and taught a masterclass on singing.
So this is what singers do in their free time once they achieve perfection in their careers :)
Floor singing ´Que se siente` is so mesmerizing and beautiful. I can totally recommend that one to react to :)
I think the other contestants couldn't wait for her to perform. They could just sit there and be blown away by her talent. They look like they hit the music lottery.

There are only a few singers who can routinely bring a tear to my eye. Laura Fabian is one. Floor Jansen is one. Pure emotion and so incredibly skilled.

I did see you did two of Lara's songs, and that "Je Suis Malada" has over 192K views !!! Congrats on that !! So RESPECTFULLY, we can submit that the only LOGICAL course of action now is to review both Lara AND Floor's *"ADAGIO"* !! Not only does Floor do a great cover of what some consider to be perhaps Lara's signature song, but the elaborate structure of the song presents multiple avenues with which to teach and illustrate vocal technique !!! Floors vocal dynamics and emotional drama is spectacular. She so perfectly plays the role of the emotional context of the song and communicates it meaning with beautiful definition and clarity. Her talents just go so much further than the notes in the vocal. That control she has is legendary. 😎

I’m so used to Floor singing with Nightwish so the first time I heard this performance it honestly knocked me out. I’m a professed metal head who also enjoys Lady Gaga so this combination surprised me and I honestly cried a bit. 😊
Pretty sure the reason for going deep on consonants is because she's Dutch, they do that... every last one of them and she does that speaking other languages as well, I should know.
That low flow though and the strong voice... well that is Floor. That is how she sings and that is why she's everywhere. I'd say I miss the days of us going bar hopping but she's doing well and I'm really happy for her.. really really happy happy happy happy all happy fucking happy shut up!
I love how Henk Poort just has a content smile on his face, clearly pleased and enjoying the perfomance...while everyone else is like, "HOW IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE?!?!"

Another quality reaction I enjoyed that, thanks Jess :¬) Try "Vilja Lied" from Beste Zangers. This was her first performance of the show (singing for Henk Poort). Nobody had heard Floor before, except Tim (Target T-shirt) and his experience was limited to a 'younger' Floor. Take care and have a great evening.
Easy like. Catching the way she focuses on the key words. First time I´ve ever seen a language commentary. Respect.
One thing that gets me about every single song she did for the show is the reaction of the others! I mean, as much as Henk doesn't show it much he's impressed, and the looks on the faces of Rolf and Ruben are priceless :) Rolf was the one that made that sound in the beginning and was also the one with his mouth open looking like he couldn't believe his ears and Ruben was the one that looks like he has tears in his eyes at some point. On the other songs you see Samantha showing her goosebumps to Henk, Ruben cries during her cover of his highly personal song, and Rolf was VERY pleased with her performance of his song too. She's amazing :)

You have to check out the performance of "Phantom of the Opera" from this same show. She performs it with Henk Poort, who played the Phantom for years. Floor can sing anything and make it sound like it's always been her song.

I've come across a lot of reactors that have given themselves all kinds of professional sounding titles, but fallen short of delivering reactions to match. You're one of the few whose reaction lived up to my expectations from a true opera singer, since at seeing the title of this reaction video, my 1st thought was "Great, yet another reactor with a made up professional title without any credit to it". I believe that in this performance , Floor in conversation with the band, decided to keep it small and intimate.
Yes Floor can sing anything in any genre. There are many good singers, but Floor is the best, a Queen of the Netherlands. Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than three octaves (D3 to F6). Her singing style varies from opera to screaming and grunting. she usually sings in English, in addition she has also sung songs in Dutch, German, Spanish, Finnish, Latin, Italian and Swedish
Being an opera singer, listen and react to her doing Vilija Lied from The Merry Widow.. Or to her singing oh Mio bambino Caro from Puccini 😉
She sang this song exactly how every emotion connects to the lyrics. She sings it like she means it. She doesn't sing it for flair, like the Lady Gaga version. Floor sings this as if she experienced everything leading up to these lyrics. It's perfection... and it makes me cry. A lot.

Please please react to Kate Bush with The man with te child in her eyes …..she wrote it when she was 13, she was discovered by David Gilmour of Pink Floyd. She is also a proffessional dancer, but her songs are amazingly good!! And she is so different to all other female singers. I always love hearing your professional analysis of singing. The old bald guy is Henk Poort. He sings musical theater and opera, and he was one of Floor's idols when she was growing up. So she was singing to someone she's looked up to, for years. They've sung Phantom of the Opera and Dangerous Games, from Jekyll and Hyde together.

Floor being fantastic is just how this universe works. She sang it into existence, of course, probably with Olox.
But the wonder on this show is Emma. Her expression on both "Strong" and "Vivo por Lei" actually exceed Floor's for sounding sincere. And Emma sings pop songs from all over the world in all languages.
She's just bizarrely talented.
