This is like the Egyptian "Hawawshi", only we use a different type of bread which is a little thicker than tortilla and much softer in the inside so it takes more time to cook and also the meat will melt and mix with the inside of the bread. It can be cooked in the oven wrapped in parchment paper or just on the stove top same way like you.

I'll also add a slice of mexican cheese before folding it. I'll fry in a mixture of butter and olive oil, but not too much. The meat will already be cooked so all I need to do is saute the tortilla on both sides till brown. Thanks so much for the idea!

Ingredients get distributed more evenly that way. I also mix it into the ground beef on a flat surface like a plate or cutting board or mat. I've adopted a practice of hiding veggies inside minced meat and it has changed everything. Translated well into making spaghetti meat with chopped spinach, and of course kebab. I learned this in Egypt primarily. That trip changed me for the better in a few ways.

      @dsart7563 Před rokem

I grew up in Southern California and we used to make tacos in a similar way. Ground beef with salt and pepper, no egg, onion or parsley. Packed tightly onto half of a corn tortilla, not flour. Prep stacks and stacks and shallow fry at the last minute. Of course with a generous array of toppings. Tomato, onion, lettuce, cilantro, cheese, avocado and of course hot sauce. Thank you for the memories!

There is already fat from the ground beef in addition to the oil in the pan, and I am trying to moderate (not eliminate) fat consumption.
