Hey steve since not everybody has a welder could you try and do the whole front end swap with out welding and only using bolts? Just to make it more diy friendly?

It wouldn't be hard if you were using a 1500 frontend but the bumper sets lower on the HD frontend. I hope the hood you have is a HD hood (or off a 06 or 07 classic 1500) like the white one because they look a lot better the the regular 1500 hoods

You going to have to cut the bumper brackets and move them down about 2 1/2 inches so the bumper and grill will bolt up and fit right that’s what I had to do to put the 02 2500HD hood,grill,and bumper on my 04 Tahoe

Yup
The bumper issue is because that’s a 2500 bumper and 2500’s have a factory body lift. It’s not a cat eye thing it’s a 2500 thing.
I glad someone else understands this! I have seen so many people saying get bumper brackets for a 2500, why even say stuff like that when you dont know what the hell your talking about?
On the doors you have to get regular doors with out the plastic cladding

There’s no problem with the bumper mounts. You need to get a bumper off of a Chevy 1500 and not a 2500. The mounts are different. I found that out the same way on my 1500. The top cap on the bumper is also bigger on a 2500 than a 1500. Just find a cheap bumper off a 1500.
You need a 1500 cat eyes for it the mounts are different I’m doing a duramax swap on my suburban and did the cat eye swap but I’ve done a lot of cutting so far
I wanna do the cat eye swap or an HD swap on my 02 avalanche, and my tailgate doesn't latch but I've got a ratchet strap holding it shut

You are running into bumper fitment issues because that’s a 2500 bumper. The plastic cover on top of the bumper is about 2-3” taller than a 1500 one to fit the factory 2-3” body lift on a 2500. If you buy a 1500 bumper cap it should fit better

I don't know why you're calling it a Cat-Eye swap. Both 1st Gen Avalanche's (Cladded & WBH) are already Cat-Eye light front ends.
What you're actually doing is Silverado Nose Swapping on a Cladded AV... The WBH (Without-Body-Hardware) model came with a Silverado nose.
