Yeah her comment was surprisingly on point! There's actually a whole manga on this very similarity between ancient Rome's and modern day Japan's hot spring and public baths culture called Thermae Romae, about a Roman public bath architect who suddenly timetravels to Japan and shenanigans ensue. It's a comedy but it's got plenty of researched historical insight. There's even a couple animated adaptations and a live action film lol

Lived there for 5 years, beside the onsens there is not much to do which actually awesome coz you know you aren't missing much at night... kyusho nature is very beautiful, best to get a car and just drive around in there. Yufuin village and lake is like 30mins away.. if no car at the very least take the bus to the university's amphitheater (APU). Very nice view up there.

In america the beers on a cruise are like $18 for a can of fosters. Or at least that's what it cost in 2007 when I made the dire mistake of trying a cruise out. FML what a bad experience (Vegas on land is superb for a smattering of reasons)

nah but ive only got 1 to be fair. she's big but she's on the inside of my arm so it wasn't super hard to hide. also the patrons aren't gonna say shit to you, its more the owner you have to worry about. so if they're not visible when you walk in you should be fine
