I enjoyed the first season when it came out but thought it was a bit unevenly paced, and some episodes felt weaker towards the middle. I recently rewatched it to prepare for season 2 though, and I’m glad I did. This time, I absolutely loved it. Because I watched it in around 3 days instead of weekly the first time around, the pacing felt better and I really connected with every character (except maybe Izzy).
So I was really looking forward to S2, and the first 3 episodes were truly great!
This show is turning into another comedy gem on Apple TV+, along with Ted Lasso, Acapulco, Shrinking, Mythic Quest, Trying, Platonic. And I even loved Still Up, which no one seemed to watch.
We don't find out what the Morpho is? Boo! Glad to hear you enjoyed season 2. It's a fun, endearing escape.
"Have you tried turning it off and on again?" Yes, here's another fan of the IT Crowd and Chris O'Dowd! Thanks for reminding me of how good of a show The Big Door Prize was. It's been so long since I saw the last episode of season 1. I wish we wouldn't have to wait this long for new installments to emerge, but of course we've had that long SAG_AFTRA strike that slowed everything down. As a big Ebert fan, I love your honest and thoughtful reviews. You've gradually become my compass in terms of what I watch on TV, and you rarely steer me in the wrong direction. Thank you so much!
So glad to hear that, thanks! I keep hoping that we'll get a random cameo from an IT Crowd cast member... even if they're just wandering through in the background. But O'Dowd continues to be wonderful.
