    Wow, very impressive kit and a pleasure to watch the overview. Whiting to see it in action!

    Looking forward to this follow up. Ordered the same kit after watching. Over all looks like A good price point for this kit

      Looking good so far! Got everything mechanical together and just the electronics to go. There are a couple of things In the Voron manual I would maybe change, but nothing major. Only thing I have not used from the kit were the M5 washers as I had a bag of M5 1mm shims to hand.

      @@PigeonPrint awesome Yea the only thing I ordered and plan on changing from the kit is using can bus instead of the afterburner pcb

      @@xlvenombitelx Same plan here. Going to build the stock kit first so people know what to expect, then upgrade to Stelthburner with Voron tap and then CAN BUS.

    Seeing a bunch of hate for this kit over on the Reddit. I ordered a kit and thought it looked really nicely packaged! Haven't built it yet Just finished printing the parts. I wonder if all the hate is coming from the patent or a generally bad kit?

    • @PigeonPrint
      @PigeonPrint  Před rokem

      I think its going to be the patent, though I don't know enough about the situation or the Chinese patent system to really comment. Think people are inherently tribal, and like to cheer on their team and boo the other side. Personally my only gripe with the kit so far is it having washers, rather than shims, and that a $3 fix.

    The kit looks very nice. I’m curious to see how this compares to an LDO kit. I find it hard to believe LDO is that much better to warrant the $400 price difference.

    • @PigeonPrint
      @PigeonPrint  Před rokem +1

      I have no first hand experience with their kits, only the motors. But, I was a little surprised buy the price difference, especially considering the cost of motors for them is much cheaper then Fysetc would have to pay not being a manufacturer, but then I do also like LDO use matte acrylic for the panels making them far less of a fingerprint magnet!

      @@PigeonPrint Yeah very true. I am very surprised Fysetc is using Gates belts. One of the main reason i didnt go with a cheaper kit was due to fear of lower quality motion components. That doesnt seem to be the case anymore. If Fysetc has a trident kit i may go with them for it.

    Very tempted to pull the trigger on a 350mm kit. This looks decent!

    • @PigeonPrint
      @PigeonPrint  Před rokem +1

      I would 100% recommend a kit over a self source build, doing a self-source build before covid with fast cheap shipping was a nightmare, can only again how much of a pain it must be right now!

      It's great to see a manufacturer will provide kits to the smaller channels too. Your Klipper videos were a great help to me. I'm going to explore setting up Macros next.

      @@Jack155Q4 thank you for the kind words! still need to get my head around macros and basic python before I feel competent enough to make a video on the topic.

    That bottom acrylic panel may warp under heat when you start to print

    • @PigeonPrint
      @PigeonPrint  Před rokem

      Yes, seen a few people with warping issues from the beds heat, I'm hopping the nevermore mod that sits under the bed and blows hot-air up into the the chamber may mitigate that issue as its circulating the heat a lot more evenly. But, we will see!

      @macropad Před rokem

      @@PigeonPrint You may have already been made aware, but I just purchased the kit and it looks like they're including foam insulation for the bed to prevent warping. (Just got to the point of the video where you show the bed foam....whoops)

    Can you update about this kit?

    • @PigeonPrint
      @PigeonPrint  Před rokem +1

      Sure, working on a video, but here a the foot notes....hardware is good, price is better the a self source, only hardware I would personally change is swapping the washers for shims, I was not a huge fan of the Spider V2.2 mainboard, but they are now shipping with the V2.3 and that fixes all the issues I had. Only other things I would personally like to have seen is matte black acrylic as the gloss is a finger print magnet.
      I only have about 1.5Kg of filament ran through it so far and I have not ran into any issues short of having to change some motor direction in the config, and the issues I had with the old mainboard.
