    For what it's worth, a future awesome idea for a review would be to compare this group of new Head MP Aux 2.0s: Extreme MP, Boom MP, and Speed MP. I just hit with the new Boom MP, and having played with the Extreme MP 1.0, I find the Boom MP 2.0 to be more spin friendly than what I recall from the Extreme MP; I think that there is a lot of overlap across these three frames which makes them difficult to differentiate as a consumer.

    Thanks for the great review. I'm a coach. My huge gripe with modern rackets is they're too powerful and too dampened, you can't feel the ball on the racket, not good for drop shot, feel shots, lobs, slice etc. Also give us GLOSSY PAINT, why are they all matt paint, glossy is superior and more durable. Jonas you look younger with this hair by the way

    I do not know about your preferences boys and girls, but I would really appreciate if pro/tour models would be at least 15-20gr heavier than the MP models. I have a great idea for brands: release the silo and all the cash cows (MP, Pro, Lite, Team) but also introduce one experimental frame per release per silo. For example, an extreme with 327gr static weight, 102 sq inch head, higher SW. Make it fun, who knows might even catch on.

    Demo'd the Extreme Pro 2024 and ordered one. Significant improvement in terms of stability and comfort compared to prior model. Also less "tinny and hollow" sounding upon contact. Generally feels way more premium. I think its a significant upgrade.
    Cant comment on MP as I haven't tried 2024 model. But I also felt 2022 MP felt hollow and tinny. Also harsh on arm. That's why I sold mine about 6 months ago.

    Got the Head Extreme MP 2024 for 148 euro incl shipping from your Norwegian friend's tennisstore (did a special sale on Båstad finals). I'd say that's quite a lot of value, considering it's a brand new release. I usually play with Vcore100 2023 so will be fun to see how different they are.

    Really enjoyed this conversational review! I've heard you say things like "tough to get dialed into this racquet" in some other reviews. Could you explain further what you mean by that? Do you just mean you didn't get the feel that you want? Or does the string bed feel inconsistent? Or could you not figure out how to adapt your swing to the racquet?

      I just don't feel the ball the way I want to with these frames. They feel a bit artificial and overly dampened. It could be highly subjective, so I would recommend a demo.

    I mained the Tour (Aux 1.0) for a couple of months, but walked away from it do to stability issues that I couldn't fully resolve by adding lead. I have a demo which just arrived, and I measured the SW to be 327g strung, but TW completely botched the string job (new strings) and the dynamic tension of them is 24 (so, less than what I can see on the wheel, so like less than 37 lbs). Very annoying w/r to strings, but the higher sw had me optimistic that it would be more stable. We shall see!

    Jonas, off topic here, but please help Nick Aracic with his new racquet choice! He can’t switch to a Bolt, for goodness sake! I commented to him that if he likes the Pure Drive, then try the Dunlop FX500 and the Diadem Nova… but he needs the racquet GOAT (as he called you) to help him avoid disaster! :)

    • @geoffchriste1703
      @geoffchriste1703 Před měsícem

      wait, you have extensively used the Bolt line of frames and disliked them??? what was the issue??? they do admittedly have high swing wgts due to the cushion grommets system being located on the outside of the frame. but both the 100 sq inch and a 98 sq inch offerings are super plush, deliver great plow through, and are so comfortable you can string them with the stiffest poly you want, and it will feel like hitting with a high quality multi-filament. The 18x20 string pattern is also surprisingly spin friendly.

    I bought 2 pro 24 and it's very difficult for me to switch afrom my tour extreme 22.
    I really liked the one extreme 22 tour, it was very lively, this feels almost dead. I don't use dampners. hitting further is more difficult, if you hit a shot that didn't go as you wanted to, you don't know what went wrong because you don't feel it !!. they killed the feel of the racket. it's so mute and dead. also the swing weight is different so I need to feel to adjust my game, but no feel 😢.

If I was being honest I was a bit sceptical anything could be as arm friendly as a Clash - I have a Clash Pro V2 in the collection as well. However not only was the Speed a more comfortable racquet, it performs better in all areas as well. Part of my scepticism stemmed from the fact I had a Speed MP 2022 and could never fully mesh with it - resulting in it getting sold. So in my opinion, HEAD did an incredible update to the line.

    Big thumbs down on Auxetic 2.0 across the board. All it does is remove even more feel. Head needs to wake up and start cleaning up their layups, just like Babolat has started to do, and like Wilson and Yonex are slowly starting to do. With most modern copoly now finally starting to turn the corner on comfort, we don't need anywhere near as much of this tech muting nonsense in the frames. Comfort should be provided by increasing recoil weight (by bumping static weights back up to reasonable levels), not with rubbery/vague dampening materials. Get on it Head (and the rest of you OEMs)!
