- Believe it or not this was my first time using melt and pour! Definitely not my last :)
This soap took nearly 6 hours to finish!!
The white layers just would not set up. (Thank goodness for my whisk trick)
This fragrance is described as a perfect mix of sweet and spicy. You'll love the notes of orange, cardamom, raisin, clove, cinnamon, rum, vanilla extract, gingerbread, and tonka.
Smells absolutely amazing. I experienced no acceleration but it does discolor to brown.

Ahhhh rolling the gumdrops in fine sea salt was such a good idea! We did a gingerbread soap recently and I wish we’d thought of that for our gumdrops!
Beautiful soap! Those "gumdrops" were so realistic, if I did not see them attached to soap I might eat one.

Beautiful soap! I was wondering how you keep the batter so fluid when you wait half an hour or so in between layers? TIA
I know it has to do with the way she blends them. I don't know how the science works, but because she hand blends the batch instead of using a stick blender to begin with, it doesn't really set off the reaction as much. So by only stick blending when she's about to pour the soap, she can keep it fluid much longer.
She mentions it in the video. You hand blend initially so it stays quite thin for a long time. Modern soapmaking only happens so quickly because we have stick blenders. If we were to do it by hand it would take an hour or more at times.
Very likely using mostly oils and little or no butters will keep it fluid.
Its because she stick blends as rarely as possible. In the beginning if you noticed, she blended oils and lye with a whisk and not a stick blender, to agitate the two JUST ENOUGH to stick together but not enough to thicken at all. When they just barely hold together like that, she has time to stick blend each individual layer so that every layer will only be as thick as she needs it in the moment.

I wanna do the layered look like this and do the ridges but I don’t wanna mess it up so I haven’t attempted that design yet lol I’m really good at piping n making soap cupcakes and I make what I call soap bomb cupcakes. The bottom is a bubble bath bomb and the top the piping is cold process soap. But I haven’t been brave enough yet to venture out into layers angles I haven’t done mica lines either. Which I will try that soon.
