@@user-yw6ye7qh8m They might not be. Gen Z will raise them, and after seeing Gen Alpha they probably will not raise ipad kids.
Actually, I definitely blame Twitter and the pandemic for destroying everyone's lives. Not really Gen Alpha.
No wonder why we got more critical these days and lost alot of companies and buildings.
Teachers aren't free babysitters and parents need to be actual parents
Agreed, as much as teachers impart knowledge onto the younger generation, that doesn’t really help if said students aren’t willing to show the respect, let alone be a functioning human being instead of a screen zombie that just sits there and not engaging with what is being taught. Nor is it the teachers’ responsibility to teach proper adequate and other basic foundations that should have already been established during a child’s development at home.
funny i had a parent literally call us childcare providers and we said mam we are first and foremost EDUCATORS
My brother and his wife have been teachers, elementary, for over 25 years. Both quit last year because they got sick of the disrespect, and verbal and physical abuse by the students, and their parents. These were kids in a "Good" middle to upper class school district. My brother taught high school in LA for ten years, and he said that those students had nothing on this new generation. Mind you back then he had guns pulled on him several times.
it would also help if our schools weren't pushing ideological programing into our kids faces then MAYBE the babies would be interested in LEARNING. DEI needs to GO
if teachers don't want to be baby sitters, they need to quit these schools. These schools do not want to teach, they just want a daycare. These educators should be teaching and advocating for tradeschool to replace these institution who no longer serve a purpose of giving knowledge. That and tradeschools are better suited for preparing students for the real world.
The worst part of it is if you are gen Alpha and trying to behave good and study… You will be called nerd, bullied, etc.
True
True but then it depends on the location
That's nothing new lol
That's so true
I'm not gen alpha but I gotta agree. Most of my class consider me a "nerd" or sometimes "teacher's pet" (just because I get good grades), thankfully I'm not bullied for it (actually most people are pretty respectful to me) but I can see younger children being bullied simply because they're acting well.
I went to a school for kids with behavioral issues in 2000. Even the worst kids would never attack a teacher! Most of the students were surprisingly respectful. I guess now all schools need to be treated like special ed
Hey, you are not the only one.
Unfortunately, you might be right.
Attacking a teacher is unthinkable, jesus. They are just regular people trying to teach us stuff
We must keep this at 69 likes to show that this is accurate
The millennials were Marxists and actually a lot smarter than what Gen X and Boomers gave credit for. Imagine how many figured out how to quit by pumping GME, AMC, Dogecoin, NVIDA and much more. People like Chris Chan are extreme examples and not reflective of reality. Gen Alpha sucks but they can and should go a step further above class consciousness and start being existence consciousness and attack the Demiurge. Once they read up Nag Hammurabi Library and start fighting existence itself, I will have a lot more respect for them.
The movie "Idiocracy" is becoming realistic, what's worse is that we don't need to wait for 500 years.
True!
The lack of basic understanding and social skills isn't nearly as scary as the complete lack of empathy of Gen Alpha.
Luckily I wasn't raised like that (Gen Z), I tried be as kind as possible, and I respected all animals too! My mom had her dog before I was born, and we were best friends till she (the doggo) passed away when I was in first grade. With good parenting, Children can be around well trained animals.
@@ms.piratethe problem with your generation is every decision you make is based on feelings and emotions. Gen Zs are delicate people, you can’t handle criticism. And when life is thrown at you, your generation complains and cry
Yup and for that rather than blaming anyone we should take responsibility and try to help them. Not criticize them.
I have empathy?
@@BeefBrisketBridget, Respectfully, I think you would have to have lived longer to understand how severely deficient in empathy society has become, as a whole. There are always exceptions to the rule, thankfully you are one. 🤍
Fellow gen alpha here. I can’t even make friends at public areas because all the kids just watch brainrot and use the annoying slang terms. Man, it feels like I’m the only one who is sane.

the child saying they could be hired at mcdonalds made me sick
like, do they even know how f-in hard it is to work at mcdonalds? And btw, NO, they DO NOT hire anybody
Also while you all are talking about how gen alfa is doomed just think what will happen next, first of all really a lot of gen alfas will have no kids, and if they will, how will they educate them? When gen Z tried it didnt go well but what will happen with gen alfa? And I know that not everywhere gen alfa is like this but USA will definitely have some problems
Real waiting is one of the hardest jobs there are
Exactly, people seem to have an idea that because McDonalds is a ‘simple’ job they’ll just take anyone from the streets
@@Blu3_X Although I'm 13, I used to think that 😅😂, but now, I know that you need to sign papers, background check, and all kinds of "fun" stuff to do, before you aquire the job.
I'm currently desperate for work and I know for a fact I would not try to work at a Mcdonalds. Maybe there was once a time when it was far less chaotic to work there, perhaps during my parents and grandparents time, but it's basically like the pilot episode of spongebob at least twice a day in there.
Anchovies...
Parents are to blame. A childs 1st education is at home.
100%
Yea that and the internet, which is also a parenting thing. Like kids younger then 13 reaaally shouldnt have the internet.
The government is to blame too. Everyone works harder for nothing. And its their curriculum, its the system that pushes failures to the next grade.
@fe7kh ignorance is very lucrative. Especially for the industrial prison (slavery) complex.
The people who set up the school system and wrote the books for the children to study are the exact same people who set up our prison systems in America.
The second that kid said "take my ipad. I dare you" bruh that kid would learn real fast
He would rue the day...Yeah--I said "rue".
He'd learn what "Mess around and find out" really meant.

@@yessirgg if i was in that situation, i'm not gonna have access to every entertainment ever in my entire life until i fix my behavior 😂

I’m having a baby girl in November and I’m terrified for her generation. Her dad and I plan on actually spending the time to parent our baby, I have a work from home job. I knew I wanted to be at home and chose to work on getting my degree ahead of time. These people are having babies and not planning it out, I’m really nervous about sending her to school. Never thought I’d want to go private but that might have to be what we do
I wish you goodluck on her, im extremely scared for my 2 little brothers that are 2 about growing up and i want to teach them to not become like this.
The fact that you're caring and are actively trying to prevent your baby from being like them is good! It gives your child a better chance to be better in the next generation! I wish you and her good luck and hope things go well with you!
Try homeschooling, then absolutely private/Montessori.
You will have all of this information ahead of time before you have your child. I think that is something a lot of the parents of gen alpha didn't have. Of course it's always been believed that too much electronic use is not good for children, but I don't think parents truly understood the impact until actually seeing their child get older and the behavior they displayed. Technology is also developing extremely quickly right along with our children. I think that's another huge issue.
Just the sole fact that you are asking yourself these questions leads me to believe that your child is going to be just fine. ❤
In my country if any if these happened, those students are toast. They got expelled, literally... And there's strict banning to bring or even use gadgets during class. Those caught using it, faced detention and got their parents involved. Thankfully, the parents are in the teacher's side.
Which country is this?
@@FloydMickenbooderasian country dude. Tough discipline.
I remember when calculators were forbidden. We'ved regressed a long way.
I think it comes down to who's raising gen alpha and that would be the parents
uh oh
And who create technology…
I think the pandemic and at-home learning really emphasized the failure on the parents part because the kids couldn't be as easily held accountable for not doing their homework the next day like in person and parents would usually not set up the laptop in a structured/distraction free place. Parents also wouldn't support or help their kids with problems or make sure they understood what was being taught. They were super hands-off and children need structure to thrive, structure which both the pandemic and their parents fail to give them.
Parents who give their kids smartphones/tables and them failing to teach their kids the consonquenes or setting rules are to blame for this.
@@PotatoChipse Technology is fine, its intended for adults and has plenty of options for parental controls, its up to the parents to put on parental controls
Many parents don’t want to be parents and would rather have their kids be on their iPad and phones. They don’t want to teach their kids but allow social media influence them.
I agree. But also the norms formed by social media and being perfect, looking perfect, be "successful" makes a whole lot of selfcentred people...in this case the parents. We need to stop or heavily reduce the use of ipads, social media plattforms etc because it is going to ruin us. There have been studies shown that all this use has decreased skills such as empathy, conflict resolution, communication, bonding and also patience in us as people. So in other words one will grow up to be narcissistic, lonely and aggressive without the ability to communicate properly. Great!
yeah but also most of this problem is from lower class students whose parents have to work more than before because of price increases etc. the rich families who can have private tutoring and education aren't dealing with this issue to a great extent from what i've seen. their kids know discipline. pretty sure if the parents weren't overworked, more of them would be willing to support their kids' learning
@@JennyKlindtnow that last part is a myth. Empathy is genetics. I grew up with asocial Media and still get 100% in tests and patience is something most people will learn a whole lifetime. It's also not like we know for a fact that these kids stay on their phones instead of visit some friends..
@@nekomancer09now that does actually make a lot of sense when it comes to what I am witnessing.. here in germany its very common to even give away babies into Kindergarten if the parents work abd it's also the reason I wouldnt want kids. Why get Some if you can't raise em? And next time you check on them they be stuffing animals in your basement ...
Im thinking that maybe instead of 2 kids per family we should have a kid per 2 families. That way at least someone other than Alexa would be takin care of them 🤷
Seeing this unfold is like watching a conflict on the street from outside your window.
You want to intervene. But you have zero idea how, or if, that will have any effect.
Failure of a child is failure of a parent

They're iPhone having little nihilists.

why are kids not getting held back anymore? i knew so many kids that were held back in kindergarten or first grade.
Just the shame of being that one kid (and there was only ever one or two) in the class who had to repeat a grade was enough to motivate all the other students to...not be that kid. 😂
I have had conversations every year with my children's schools that I do NOT want my children pushed through. Real life doesn't work that way. If my children aren't learning the material or doing the work well, maybe they'll catch on the second time around. I also refuse to let them do summer school.
I'm fairly easy going as a mom. I know everyone needs mental health days and my children are free to come to me and say i just can't do it today...I have those days too...but I also tell them that they may be surprised by how resilient they are when they push through difficult times and come out the other side.
I definitely think c19 had a very detrimental effect on school age kids. I also see that things like TikTok (not allowed in my house) are playing a huge part in why kids just aren't living up to their potential.
If you want to see the results of how this plays out in real life just watch any of the bodycam videos available from cops for people in this age range. Crazy stuff.
Some kids really benefit from being a year or two older.
Letting kids fail upwards just makes it impossible for them to ever catch up. Every year they fall further and further behind, as they don't have the prerequisite knowledge and skills to understand what is being taught. It's not surprising that kids in that situation act out. It would be less frustrating and humiliating for them in the long run to repeat a grade early on.
@@planetschlocksome kids were held back not because they were bad. I remember a kid who had hearing issues being held back a year.
And this why I educate my 6 years-old when he is at home. He is a kindergartener. He learned how to read at the age of 4. We are still working on improving math.
Education starts at home.
i love that for you
i had a parent get mad at me because she had a 6 year old who knew only 2 letters and say kids dont need to learn that (the alphabet) this early. *eye roll* and she proceeded to call me a childcare provider as I believe she was offended I had to let her know her child is behind.
I've been hearing a lot of parents considering doing home school for their kids because they think the teachers are not doing enough to teach their kids. The problem is that they don't seem to understand how broken the education system is.

People have done studies, what they are doing on the devices matters more than the devices themselves
Handwriting is an issue too. Any kid born after 2005 (like me) has AWFUL handwriting… I was never taught cursive, and I don’t know why. When I went to get my drivers license, the receptionist laughed at my handwriting. I don’t blame her, it is atrocious for certain. But all I was taught were the janky letters that are huge.
I mean if you had awful handwriting. It would look even more so in cursive.
cursive isnt nessecary anymore, and either the school u were at is bad or ur just trynna blame ur awful handwriting on the school, my handwriting is also horrible unless im doing a test
@@durakeno5575 Not necessarily. My cursive always looked nicer because it forced me to write slower since I have to consider each letter going into the next. I've known plenty of people whose handwriting only looks bad in one form or the other, as well as those who just have terrible handwriting no matter what they do.
I am so glad I’m not the only one not taught cursive lol. They just never taught me at my school
I didn’t even learn how to read it til I got the gravity falls journal 3 book, where I just sorta forced myself to learn cursive cuz I really wanted the book and wanted to learn the lore about it lol.

A lot of these kids completely lack empathy. I mean, messing with teachers is something kids have done to some extent in all generations, but to have a grown adult in front of you literally crying & an entire classroom is either laughing or just totally complicit is outrageous.
My kids are 2 and 1. I notice the behavioral difference in other children just when we take them to the park to play. We plan on homeschooling and so far, my kids are very friendly, compared to the other children who hardly want to socialize at all. Every time my son sees a younger child he always wants to say hello and be friendly towards them. I often find other kids are rude or are detached and don't want to play with kids they don't know. I want my kids to grow up having friends, but how hard will it be, if their generation is this way? I remember how easy it was to make friends at a park even just for the day when I was a kid (I'm 28). Although my generation was one of the last to play outside regularly and have very frequent interactions with the neighborhood kids. Times are just different.
I’m 12 and my whole class would probably get expelled for doing something like this. We also still have 3-5 page essays that we have to do every few weeks and we are currently working on a project regarding afrofuturism.
We always knew when to stop and how far we could go. This is absolutely heartbreaking to see how bad this situation has become. My kids are long grown but if we’re going to fix this, it’s going to take all hands on deck. 😢

I'd have to see what you're seeing exactly to know the degree to which it's abnormal, but as a mother of two very young children yourself, I can imagine you're fully aware of all this and so I'd love to see what you're seeing because more people should know the early warning signs of this so they can head it off at the pass.

I quit my old work space because a mother got furious that I put her son in time out after spitting on me and making other kids uncomfortable. I don’t believe it’s the teachers fault.

@@secretpeace-wp6xg there's barely any good role models for male kids on social media which really sucks as it contributes to screen time being even worse for kids
Man... How did the society and the internet has come to this situation...
I think the screen time issue is not just parents and Covid, but it’s a fundamental issue with how America was built. America was bulldozed for the car and it’s hard to get anywhere without one. That combined with the dangers of kids being our on their own and parents being very understandably scared about their kids getting kidnapped or hurt outside, many kids barely ever go outside on their own, and most of their freinds are from school and live far away where they can only see eachother with a car and have to have arranged times to meet. Kids are trapped in their home and most parents enforce that,

I'm Gen X. My son is turning 9 in a few weeks and he's a little angel and recommended to the gifted program for his reading and comprehension levels and his teachers love him. He reads as well as most adults. He never stayed home during the pandemic because I had him in private school. Paid for by the state. We are not wealthy at all. A lot of these kids missed 2 years of school and socializing. And also, the system sucks and is designed to create wage slaves. I don't mind if the kids are rebels but they have to at least be able to read. Come on people!! Maybe their parents need to start reading to encourage their children. Are these parents ever reading books? I honestly didn't even have to try to teach my son to read or get him to read. He likes it. But I'm a big reader myself. I LOVE books. This show just made me incredibly grateful for my child. And it's not "the pandemic" that caused the problems. It's the harmful and unnecessary government mandated shut downs. It ruined so much and did not help at all.
When I was in chorus, the alarm went off. Some kids found it funny and started talking and laughing. We couldn't even hear what the alarm said. I was really scared since I had a real lockdown in my last year in elementary school. I'm honestly surprised they are not getting held back.

There are some kids with problems, but they were able to get the hang of it at 3rd to 4th grade.
I passed out of school in 2022
I still hear from my juniors how, rowdy the school has become Im not from US but let me tell you, if we were to behave like these kids , pur parents would punish us before teachers could even utter a word. We don't have the concept of "detention" yet but corporal punishment is still practiced here. Ofc we bad mouthed teachers behind their back but the respect for them was also there , and the word never got to them. It's absolutely mind baffling how much these kids are getting away with nowadays.
It’s because the parents aren’t parenting, or they are kids themselves.

In my elementary school (early 90s) we also had students who threw chairs. All of them were from a nearby orphanage for severely abused children. So they all were traumatized and worked on their problems. Never seen a child, who lived with his parents do such a thing.

It’s so disheartening, as a gen z kid sitting in my one gen ed classes with kids who don’t even try to learn. They just sit there, on their phones, the teacher has given up and only teaches the kids who listen. My art teacher had to scream at some kids and the rest of the class just laughed. It’s actually so sickening
Can't tell you how many times we've had to clear the class out of the room because a child was knocking over bookcases or literally beating other children with chairs. The parents always blamed it on us... but then admitted later that they have a padded room at home for this very reason.
A. Padded. Room. For tantrums. Let that sink in.
It's so messed up, I can't even fathom it. Instead of actually guiding their child through their emotions or god forbid some sort of discipline, they just put him in a room that they had designated was safe enough for him to destroy.
Absolutely mind-blowing.
And yes, we clear out the class. That is the protocol the school put in place for us instead of taking the unruly child out. So class is disrupted completely until the unruly child finally calms down.
It's insane. I ended up leaving the school system.
@@pikaboubouMany school districts misunderstood the No Child Left Behind Act and as a result it backfired. All students are left behind except the dysfunctional ones. The dysfunctional students get all the resources and attention while the other students are ignored.
A ten year old boy at my school got mad so he broke a window.
Mainstreaming highly dysfunctional kids has been a failure. They need to bring back special ed, remedial and behavioural streams, so the majority don't have their educations ruined, and stop letting failing students fail upwards, where they'll have even less chance of catching up. They also need to stop leaning on restorative justice so much as a substitute for discipline. It's only appropriate for mild to moderate misbehaviour, and first offenders. School administrators and governing bodies need to stop cowing to and placating nasty parents and start supporting their teachers.
