  • On 25th june 2007, yorkshire had 18 hours of rain. south yorkshire towns sheffield, rotherham, barnsley and doncaster were hit hard by the deluge.

    Well put together. I was in the wicker that day between 3and4pm with my son trying to rescue my grandaughter from her nursery,thankfully everything turned out ok, true yorkshire spirit prevailed that day.

    lol, well i live in rotherham, Brinsworth. it wasn't very nice for some, but for me it was quite exciting at times, and at others where a child has died, u just wanted it to go away.

    i was at work on nursery street, sheffield that morning when the don started to overflow. i managed to get home to darfield and by the end of the day it was an island, surrounded on three sides by the dearne and the dove.

    Didn't realise it was so bad till I saw those pictures, thoughts are with all those involved in this tragedy.

      I know your reply was 11 years ago, but if you havent found out yet.... there is a Chapeltown in Sheffield.
