  • Join me as I take a trip down memory lane with a Meet the Classic Bike episode. We go on two wheels again but this time without an engine. We take a retro classic Raleigh Chopper for a spin and have a good look around this iconic piece of design from the seventies

The rear stays were changed on the MK2 because they used to break on the MK1, especially when kids rode 2 up on the longer saddle!

Just subscribed and doing a binge watch. Exactly the same back story as yourself, however I did purchase a fully restored Mk2 Fizzy Yellow, in my fifties. It sits in the front room and every time I look at it I think Yes, done it, that’s mine 😀😀😀😀

New sub... that mk2 is mint. Lovely bike, just in the middle of rebuilding a mk2 infa red.

Looking at the mark one, it was a visually cleaner and more appealing design and being 64, the one i remember but never got.

Mk2 came out in ' 72, it overlapped with the last Mk1s with modded frames

For all the badly done to boomers, who's father was too miserable to buy you a chopper, you can buy your own mark 2 from Raleigh on line on 20th June at midday. A snip at £950. Change the sissy bar for a longer one because the bike doesn't pass safety standards when sold with the bike, also for sale and take yourself back to your youth. All you would want then is a Johhny Seven, Space hopper, etch a sketch, super ball and a pair of clackers to go with it.
