I am a painting instructor and I just purchased a pair of high quality German-made Faber-Castell watercolor pencils from Amazon.co.jp and I would like to examine them carefully to see how useful they are as a painting material in terms of comfort and color. This is an honest review with no discernment, so apologies to the manufacturer!

自分は絵が全く描けないのですが、柴崎先生が楽しそうに描いているのを見るのが大好きで、今日も見にきてしまいます😂

ドイツ在住で、ファーバーカステルまで、それほど遠くない所に住んでいます。
私も水彩色鉛筆を持っています。
旅行先に、絵はがきサイズの水彩画用紙と水彩色鉛筆を持参して、旅先の風景画なんかをササッと描くのは、良い思い出になります。
ずっと描くのをお休みしていたけれど、
先生が楽しそうに描いているのを見て、
自分でもまた描いてみたくなりました。
これからも、先生の作品、楽しみにしています♪

I recently found your channel, grandpa❤️ I haven’t been feeling good for the last months, I used to love painting when I was a little girl but somehow I stopped and now I’m 20 years old. I thought I could never start again because I considered myself old to start again, but when I found your channel I started looking at art and particularly watercolor as something you have to enjoy doing no matter how old you are, no matter how much experience you have. And with your help and joyful way of teaching watercolor I finally started again and I’ve been loving every single step of it thanks to your beginner videos. I can’t thank you enough for doing this, not only for me but for other people. You’ve helped me feel happier, to find something joyful and great to watch after a long exhausting day. Thank you so so much, I can’t thank you enough for doing this. You’re a great artist and even a better person for sharing all of this with people from all over the world.

お友達が色鉛筆塗り絵をやっているのを真似てファーバーカステル水彩色鉛筆を10本だけ購入して100均の塗り絵を塗ってみました。鉛筆の使い方がよく分からず困っていましたが今回先生のレクチャーを拝見して大変参考になりました。ただやってみて分かったことは絵を描くのはすごく楽しい、もっとやりたい気持ちが湧いて来たことです。本当は塗り絵ではなく水彩画をやりたいので今後先生の動画を見て描いて行こうと思います。
絵を描きながら、面白い面白い！って幸せそうにしている柴崎先生を見て癒されています…
今日の午後水彩色鉛筆で絵描いてていいのが欲しいなと思ってネットでいろいろ調べてて、今さっきは柴崎先生の別の動画観てたらこれ来たからほんとにびっくりした、エスパーですか…？
最後の方、目を入れて羽毛を筆でなでた時に急に鳥から体温と羽毛のふわふわな手触りを感じた！
pops is making challenge videos now! this just made my evening even better. I didn't expect pops to call faber-castell's cover boring, made me burst out laughing. that parrot turned out really well! even with a watercolor pencil pops still did it, what a mad lad. back when i was in high school i also used watercolor pencil which i bought with my measly allowance, treasured it until now. watching pops use it sure brought back good memories.

最近柴崎先生の動画を見て影響を受けて、絵を描き始めました。なかなか難しくて、はじめのうちは100円ショップのキャンバスでいいかなと思い、練習しています。今100円ショップのキャンバスが品薄のようで、皆様おうち時間が増えて、絵を描くブームが訪れているのかな、などと思いました！！！
空想で描かれているのにこんなにリアルで素晴らしい。そしてどんな画材ともすぐお友達になれる感じが素敵。見ているだけで楽しいです。
すごい、、！絵のように鮮やか(絵だから)なのに、今にも飛んで行きそうなリアルさ！！

美術の授業で水彩色鉛筆を使い、気に入ったので先日画材屋さんに行ったのですが、ドイツ製の高いものしか無く、それを購入したものの少し気後れしてしまっていました…。
そんな中この柴崎先生の動画に出会い、私も楽しんでいっぱい絵を描こう！と明るい気持ちになりました💓

That's a south american bird called macaw. In Brazil we call it arara, it's a really beautiful animal. Loved the draw, I wish I could have it.
経験の少ない画材でもみるみるうちに芸術作品を描き上げてしまうなんてさすが柴崎先生！水彩色鉛筆なるものは初めて知りましたが、鉛筆の上から筆でとくなんて面白いですね

This is lovely! The intense colors of the macaw (arara) look amazing, and the way you made soft colored leaves with the same pencils was also really interesting.

Beautiful work. The way the colors were layered and blended into each other is excellent and shows your skills! I especially enjoy the addition of the plants, the branch, and the patch of grass. I think these background elements really put the parrot into space without taking away the spotlight from him. I admire the use of the watery elements of the pencils while also using their sharp edge for some nice refined lines. Very beautiful work!

I've been using watercolour pencil for a long time but never tried to wet it with water. I don't know why, it kinda frighten me. But maybe I'll try to do it after I watch this video! Beautiful drawing as usual! ✨✨✨

I was trying to learn how to draw with watercolour but then found those watercolour pencils and I absolutely love their versatility and the level of precision they allow while giving the nice watercolour thinness.

水彩部分と色鉛筆部分の混ざり具合がとっても綺麗✨見ていて楽しかったです😆

I love that you demonstrated some techniques of using water color pencils. I use mine to add details, and layer colors, in my water color paintings. I use a good cotton water color paper, and dry between layers and washes, and get good results, and the paper does not break down. I find for rocks, mountains and tree's, the pencils give that final detail and color push to my painting, once it is wet out. I almost never leave the pencil on the painting in its natural state, but I wet it, to set in the color, and make it more permanent. I find them fun to take outside and sketch with, and then when I fill in the sketch, and wet the pencil marks, I get a nice soft vanishing edge on my paintings leaving them very natural looking, and not like they have been outlined first. I also find I like to use the water brushes with these outdoors, because I do not need a water tub, just a dry towel or rag to wipe off my water brush on between colors, or to control the amount of water in the brush tip. I think the brand of water brush I use is pentel, and I got the 3 piece set long time ago and use them a lot. Please keep exploring the possibility of water color pencils in your art work, as I Love how you always seem to come up with new and interesting ways to use your materials. 忖度なしの本音と書いてあったのでちょっと身構えましたが、ずっとべた褒めだったので和みました😊画材の特色や使い方が詳細に分かり、水彩色鉛筆で描きたくなりました！机に眠っているものをまた引っ張り出して描いてみます🥰羽毛のふわふわ感と鮮やかさ、葉っぱの透明感の対比がとても面白いです。つたの描き込みや鳥さんの顔は色鉛筆ならではの繊細さですね〜！

The parrot is so beautiful which looks like real. I was amazed by the drawing effect of colour pencils, it is not worse than water colour. I may consider drawing pictures by both drawing tools soon. Thanksgiving such a wonderful tutorial showing us the beautiful effect and value of pencil colours.

Sensei, thank you for this demonstration. It's nice to see exactly what watercolour pencils can do in the hands of someone who knows how to manipulate color as you do. It's very inspiring to watch. My favorite part is how you painted the leaves. Not too much detail but perfect coloring.

I haven't been able to watch your videos for a while now, but I found time today, and I'm really going to try to watch them more because they make me really happy. When you brought up the Faber-Castell pencils, I was excited to see what you would think. My family's gotten the regular color pencils for me, and I personally really liked them. Also the bird (I think that it is a parrot because of the colors) is really beautiful and the way that you layered the colors was amazing. Sometimes, only after watching for a bit longer, did I realize why you drew in an area. Thank you for making these videos and I hope that you continue to feel well!
