- Didier Drogba got it started. Ignacio Piatti and Bojan Krkić keep it going today. The North Star Bell can sound like heaven or it can sound like hell...
How it sounds all depends on which team your rooting for. If you’re a supporter of the Montreal Impact, it’s a celebration of the Impact scoring another goal or securing a win at home. However, if you’re a fan of the opposing team, the sound may be your worst nightmare.
Discover how this unique goal ritual got started in ‘the city of bells’, and how what began as an idea by a handful of 1642MTL supporters, grew into a symbol for team and city alike.
"The Ritual" is a new feature series that goes behind the stories of the most unique MLS matchday rituals and the ways in which they bring to life the culture of soccer in North America.

Most European club in the MLS
Agree
prod. robinhood nah Atlanta United is
A GUY ACTUALLY lol good one
Daniel Lizotte im not an atl fan
Daniel Lizotte just look at the hype in their games
I love the teams with unique celebrations, not including the blow torches or snow. Like: Mont’s Bell, Timbers Log cutting, and the Revs Minutemen shooting in the air 😱👍🏻
Lies again? Money Face Score Goals
But why is everybody talking like an Italian-American and not French.
Allez Montréal 🙌✊️
Why is everybody talking like an Italian-American and not French.
Montréal is my favorite city to visit. I wish I knew French well enough where I could work/live there
Both English and French are spoken in the city. You'd have no problems. Also, you might even end up learning some French anyway.
You definitely need to speak french for most job in Québec. Maybe you could work for a specific company in finance or Tech ... but still ... 82% of Québécois are Francophones and not speaking french wouldn’t be ideal.
@@vincentd3344 I have a degree in Finance and have looked for jobs in finance online in Montreal but everyone of them required French and English unfortunately. I still love going there to visit regularly though. I really hope Montreal gets the Expos back and a NBA team in the future
When the North Bell rings, It's just awesome. No one has ever understood joy and happiness until he/she is in the stadium while the bell rings...
Bell goes very quiet against Toronto
I can still remember the goals from drogba piatti and Bernier against you and before that divaio venegas etc and if we meet in the playoffs be ready To lose
Daniel Lizotte have you won an mls cup?
hello sub only if you are smart you guys lost to us twice this year lol forever in our shadow
@@user-xs1fu4zh1b man you beated us only 2-1 without piatti and piette our most important players and after de didnt have central defensemen enough since they were injured and one went to France plus de had a coach change in the middle of the week in septembre and october we will have back piatti and piette and fanni came back
Every thing is quiet in Toronto when Toronto is playing
The boys
I’m not even American but I’m curious about all these teams’ unique traditions during games. I’m hoping for more of these videos
Montreal is a Canadian City, not American.
Talk about goosebumps
The North Star Bell is awesome.
ALLEZ IMPACT, ORIGINAL 🤘🏻🔵⚪️⚫️
My ATL is out of the playoffs, but let's see what the MTL Bell can do now.
It sounds like Christmas bells are probably ringing in Montreal in my opinion.
Best fans in msl for sure, the closest to europe fans
A crazy idea becomes reality.
It looks like Macarthur FC (Bulls) will get a big cowbell for Campbelltown Stadium! That will go nicely with all the handheld cowbells ringing during the games! 😁🔔
You should do the history of the Atlanta United Train horn.
maybe ringing the bell means you actually wake up and fuckin' play ?
Aller Montréal aller aller Montréal
why is everybody talking like an Italian-American and not French.
*celebrates in French*

Allez mtl
Did he say "DJ drogba"? ...lol
Dam canadian 😂😂
Aha too bad they dont get to hear it much, forever in our shadows.
@Daniel Lizotte what's the excuse when we beat you at the saputo earlier?
@Daniel Lizotte yeah your right and in those 3 playoff appearances how many MLS Cups do we have and how many do you have? Could you please refresh my memory
Michael Pimentel you just have pne chill out 🤦🏻♂️
lets respect the montreal impact team. They were "USL" champion lol🤣😂
Man you are so obsessed with us
Toronto FC is better, sorry we have to be mean to each other
What happened last night? 😅
🔕🔕🔕
Great history on the bell...but F-K that bell...
yes but no playoff for you guys....
No cup for you
Go impact
@Daniel Lizotte still hoping?
I love the impact to death but having the stadium in the east end is a joke. Period.
@Daniel Lizotte I've been to the stadium millions of times. Its not about the atmosphere. The location is horrendous. Stadium should have been built downtown but saputo too cheap for that. If they played downtown, 90% of the games would sell out.
Montreal will forever be in the shadow of Toronto!
@Daniel Lizotte Okay bud, no need to write a whole essay...
Damn are Montreal really that bad that their fans have to be reminded what a goal sounds like via a youtube video?
