If you would rather keep your mulch instead of going to rock, the best thing to do is put a fresh layer down and then spray it with mulch glue. Yes, they actually make it spray it really good. It dries clear so your mulch stays the same color but it won't move. I have three dogs and the reason why I got it is because every time they ran through it it went everywhere. I've had it on there for 2 years now and it hasn't gone anywhere. Try mulch glue and see if that doesn't work better for you.
Then all you have to do is use a leaf blower or a light rake to pull your pine needles off and mulch won't be disturbed
Hello Krista, thank you so much. I never thought of using glue on the side bed mulch. I’m so glad I mentioned it and you provided such an awesome suggestion. I haven’t refreshed my mulch this year so I am definitely going to do it. 👊🏾
That is really great that your ferns came back! I’m glad you didn’t throw them out. Excited to see how they come back.❤
Hey Coco, thank you! I’m so glad too. Have a blessed day!
Hey! I'm Beryl from Georgia. The backyard updates are looking great. I need to save my ferns instead of throwing them away each year. I'm looking forward to the next video.
Hello Beryl, it is nice to meet you. Thank you so much. Last year was my 1st time purchasing and overwintering them. Yes, if you are able to overwinter them it is worth it. Have blessed evening
I reuse my creeping jenny in my flower pots and lots of areas around the yard, back and sides to save some coins.
Hello Ruth, I definitely add some of the creeping Jenny to my pots but still I gave to get rid of some off it. I grows too fast. 🤣
I love it. The pathway is gorgeous. I would've cut the flowers off of the hosta also. It really does look cleaner that way.
Hello Christi, thank you so much. How are you doing?
Thanks, I’m glad you agree.
I agree with you working one area out of time is the best way not to get overwhelmed and you will get a lot more done.
Hello Lucienne, I’m so glad you agree. It definitely makes a big difference. 🙏🏾
Nice! I love a hostas-lined pathway!
Thank you so much! 👊🏾
Hello Daphne✨
I say buy it, instead of building it. Unless you feel like doing a project. I look forward to your videos even though sometimes I’m getting to them later now they are very inspiring and I love your yard!!! it’s very cozy❤ Tfs
Hello everyone❤ I am from Minnesota.
Hello Coco! That’s what I did, I bought it. 👊🏾don’t worry. I appreciate you. 🙏🏾
🪴 love the creeping Jenny 🪴🥰🇬🇧🥰
Thanks so much! It is so nice to meet you. Have a blessed week ahead
Concrete sealer used on your walkway will bring the shine back to the pavers.
Hello Angela, thanks for the suggestion. Have a blessed evening
So nice ❤ you have the opportunity if you desire to add many different flowers to your gardens. Astilbe is a nice shade flower. Theyre so pretty grown in bunches. Looks great!! 😊
Hello there, thank you so much. I definitely plan on adding more and more to my side beds. Originally they were so overgrown so I cleared everything out so now I’m slow adding things that I like back. I added 3 astilbe last year and they are lovely but I may move the location. Thank you so much! 👊🏾
🎉❤ just lovely
Thank you L Case! ❤️
Gardens look beautiful. Enjoy❤
Thank you so much Ashley. 🙏🏾
Your yard is beautiful. It can get time consuming.
Hello Donna, thank you! Yes it definitely can but I try to pace myself. 🤣 what are you up to?
Hey Daphne, everything looks so nice. I also cut the hosta flowers off! They grow so large and I trim them from the bottom to keep them looking neat😊
Hello Gwen, thank you. They just look so much better without the blooms. 🤣 I’m also glad I trimmed them out of the walkway. Have a blessed week ahead.
I love the video, you always make it so enjoyable and it looks so nice. The sitting area looks good thanks for sharing ❤
Hello Iris, thank you so much. I’m always happy you enjoy. 🙏🏾
Hello Johanna, thank you. I say one project at a time but step by step is awesome too. It is about pacing yourself and not overdoing it at one time. Have a blessed week.
Love your video🌻🌺🌹🌼
Thank you so much Debra!
Love your video!
Thank you so much Aimerla!
Looks amazing 💚
Thanks for sharing 🎉
Thank you O’Veronique! 🙏🏾
❤❤❤
Thanks Tammara!

Thank you so much Sue!
Great job!
Thank you Yvonne!
Such a lovely yard.....Hosta's. I so so love the Hosta plants but have no place in my yard for any. I have more sun and little shade. Thanks for sharing and enjoy the season.
Hello Marcella, lol! I shouldn’t have the hosta at all in my walkway because it is full sun but the former owner put them there and I just haven’t removed them. I don’t have the strength. 🤣😂
Hey Daphne, Happy New Month mama. I really like all the updates you made to your backyard. The seating area looks so relaxing. Tfs. Wishing you and your family a great week ahead! ☺️🌺🪴💐
Happy July Lateisha! Thank you so much. Any suggestions on the driveway? 🙏🏾
Great video!
Thank you Kimmi! 👊🏾
Hi there....Sandi from Southern Ontario...Zone 6b...have spent the last couple of years creating a shade garden, lots of hostas, ferns, astilbes, ground covers. We've recently had a new patio and deck built and now, I'm planning in my head and on paper a whole new plan for that area of the garden which is mostly sun, which is challenging. There are far more options but I want to keep it simple. Your garden is beautiful! ❤️🌿🪴🇨🇦
Hello Sandi, thanks so much for sharing where you are watching from and your zone.
Awesome! I have been learning more and more about shade gardening and I love it too.
I totally understand, what plants are you considering? Have a blessed day
@@daphnesoutdoorliving6146 oh gosh, I've just started thinking about the sun garden and the list of plants I can use seem endless! lol I'd like to keep it simple but I'm considering flanking the deck on either side with Japanese maples so when having meals on the deck, it feels like you're in the woods almost. I'm slowly composing a list of favourite plants to go from there. Grasses, blue fescue, hydrangeas, Wichita blue juniper. I probably won't start until next year so I have some time to draw things out, scroll through Pinterest and gardening magazines for inspiration, sit back and dream!
Hello Sandi, all your ideas sound amazing. I can’t wait to hear what you select.
🌷
Thank you so much Ockets! 🙏🏾
Great video. I am Cindy from Atlanta, Ga. Doing a major redo in by backyard.
Hello Cindy, thank you so much. That sounds awesome. What type of redo? Are you doing it yourself?
Hey Daphne! I am trying to work on one project at a time, but my mind won't let me 😒. If it's cheaper to build them, I would build them. Thank you for all the details. Everything looks great as usual!
Hello Tiffany, I understand it is hard at first but once you start working that way it is a game changer. Thank you. I think I may purchase. 🤣 🙏🏾
Liz from South Carolina. Working on an outdoor oasis.
Hello Liz, I hope you are taking your time working on your oasis. 🙏🏾
I have many projects to do, mainly painting our wooden porch which has post & spindles $ gingerbread-like trim. The trouble is that every pc. is painted red, white & blue. Love it, but, a lot of work. I never planted Creeping Jenny in the ground, but, it's growing in a big spot. I have 9 flower gardens which keeps me busy, but, I injured my knee in March, very painful. Just got my results from my MRI I have a meniscus root tear, Baker's cyst, and a stress fracture in the tibia. My ortho says to stay off it for 4 to 6 wks. Yeah, right! If not I may have to have a knee replacement. No way!
Hello Estelle, oh no, you have to take it easy, rest and heal. I’m sure the porch will be your first project that you will accomplish once you are better.
I planted the creeping Jenny before I knew how much to would creep. 🤣😂
Sending blessings to you!
Hi. I live in zone 7 Tfs.
Hello Theresa, it is nice to chat with you. Are you doing any projects?
Kc from Boise Idaho. Needing to update our back fence line and patio. Love you advice to break it into sections, I have been getting very overwhelmed with amount that needs done and think this will be helpful🌿
Hello Kmama, awesome, that is a cool project that you can do in stages. Definitely take your time and enjoy while you work and look forward to your final result. Make sure to take a photo of the before. Have a blessed week ahead.
Hello I'm Penny from Hampton Va and I stumbled across your video the other day and love everything. I'm going to take a page out your book and do things in 15-20 minutes increments because I be over doing it. I love your Pathway, but I can't find that video how you layed it, do you mind sharing the link? I have one similar going from my patio to my vegetable garden. I got flagstone and gravel in between it, but after 2 years, the weeds and grass have overtaken it. I would love to have what you have in between your Pathway that's why I loved to see how you did yours. Also, your hostas are absolutely amazing. .
🌼🌻🌺🥀🌹
Hello Penny, it is nice to meet you. I’m so happy you found me.
It definitely makes it much easier to break up projects into smaller increments. I hope you like it.
Thank you. My pathway and all my hardscape was also here when we purchased our home. The flagstones are set in a concrete base. Have a blessed week ahead
