The thing that excels about Victor is that he is very mature. Maturity is one of the hardest things to achieve for every young prospect. Spurs having him is a made match from heaven.
I think Shaq said it best, Wemby's game will transition seamlessly into the NBA. We're in the golden age of offense, players are given much more room nowadays and the rules are severely suppressing defenses these days. Luka, Jokic, and Giannis have all said that scoring in the NBA feels much easier and that all stems from how the game is played here. As the video pointed out, Wemby looked way more in control and free when he played those 2 games in Las Vegas. In the last Olympics, Devin Booker, Damian Lillard, Bam Adebayo, Jayson Tatum, etc. all struggled playing against inferior opponents because of how physical they were allowed to play. Well Wemby has been going up against that since he was 15!

Being a giant but skinny long and coordinated as someone usually a foot shorter seems to be perfect for the NBA with all the spacing and all the rules that are implemented to favor the offensive player. Even if he gets pushed around by big guys like Joel Embiid, or Nikola Jokic on defense, he's still much taller than 7 footers so shots in the paint will definitely get affected
I think the Spurs should find a tough big man like Steven Adams, a tall guy but a rough one. Firstly so that he can train against him at practice. Secondly, so that he can play PF when there's a big man match up in game like Embiid or Jokic. Wemby can be used to help blocking shots but he shouldn't be main defender of these guys (not yet)
I think what really stands out with Victor is that he has the Mamba Mentality. He's not gonna rest until he gets a ring, and even after. He'll be working harder, longer than anyone. He'll be the frirst at practice, will leave last. He's driven. Also bear in mind the Euro defenses are tougher, players are allowed way more to pest their opponent than in the NBA. Yes of course, he'll be dunked on by a roaring opponent, but he won't care and will get back at it in a snap of fingers.

How many skilled big men did we see end up having mediocre or bad careers due to injuries? and mostly lower body injuries.. I just hope and pray that Victor can stay healthy for a considerable amount of time so that he is able to have a great NBA career ahead of him
I think he'll definitely get to KD's level of shooting, last year the spurs drafted Jeremy Sochan who was supposedly the rawest prospect in the lottery or the second and just over the course of a few months he went from 50% on fts to 70% and the month before he got injured his 3 was coming around and he averaged 50% on threes thay entire month when his jumpshot was supposed to be broken and projected to take years. Also craziest highlight of wemby's three i saw was two guys running to try and close out only to get there and just look up, they didn't even try to contest because they simply couldn't
nowadays Europe dominates the US in the NBA. Wembanyama will be the best NBA player. You'll see... Give him 2-3 years and he will dominate, like no one ever before.

Some Americans, especially the ones who didn't know about Victor before he played a weak Ignite Team, need to realize: the guy he's playing against in the last clip, where there is a tiktoker making weird noises, is Charles Kahudi. Charles Kahudi's nickname is "L'homme" (The Man) because he's a beast, a super strong athlete. He posed a lot of issues to Wembanyama despite the height difference (mind you, Kahudi is about 2 meters tall, 6'6") and his age (36 years old). But Charles Kahudi played 282 games with the French national team and won 4 medals. He was one of the best defenders for the national team when he played, he's a defense specialist. He's very comparable to a taller Marcus Smart, an Iguodala or Draymond for example. But Victor still did that to him.
Two things: as impressive as the height on that jump shot is seeing it makes me think Vic should work on molding it into more of a set shot to avoid nagging ankle issues when someone inevitably slides under him and twists it.
