Shihan Akira Masuda 100-ma kumite (Hyakunin Kumite)

On May 19, 1991, Shihan Akira Masuda became the twelfth man to take on the ultimate challenge. This was also the last time anyone had faced this test before Mas Oyama passed. Held at Tokyo Hombu, it is considered one of the most grueling challenges in history. In a display of incredible determination and perseverance, he fought against some of Japan's toughest fighters at that time. Despite being exhausted, Shihan Masuda showed unwavering spirit throughout his final forty fights, which were purely driven by instinct.
