  • We visited Martin Mere Wetland Centre in Burscough near Ormskirk, West Lancashire, England UK on 3rd August 2020.
A popular North of England attraction, It is a nature reserve for wetland birds run by the WWT (Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust) Conservation Charity.
The Mere is a vast Marsh that was, until it was drained, the largest body of fresh water in England.
We take a walk around the center and look at how they have implemented social distancing measures.
Around the park we discovered various giant Lego sculptures of wetland creatures on the Lego Trail. We also enjoyed looking at the otters, which were especially active and fun to watch!
At the end of the day, we looked around the well stocked gift shop and purchased a few souvenirs.

Oh wow all the LEGO sculptures were amazing! There were a few of those types of birds I had never heard of before. Looks like you had a beautiful day to be out, loved seeing the baby ducks in the beginning! 🥰

Thanks guys, glad you enjoyed watching. Back in the 1500's this area was one of Britain's largest lakes. The Lego models were great, a nice addition to the park. Have a great week and keep yourselves well. 🥰😀🥰

Can you pay at the gate or do you have to book online?

Thanks for watching, I think that now capacity restrictions have been lifted you can now pay on the gate. Online booking is still recommended on the website though. Hope this helps, keep well.
