    Sounds good I fitted the Hitchcocks Headers to my bike a few monthe ago and I really like them I'm sure they are similar to TEC. But they didn't say to leave to old copper seals in which were a bear to get off but all is good. I have the SS cans that came with my bike fitted to them with the DB reducers in because I tell you at highway speeds it's too loud with them out for long distance ride even with ear pluds in. Ok for around town but when you get on it too much. One thing I have to say with the S&S and the Hitchcocks enfield cans they cover that bracket holding them to the headers a cleaner look. I'm sure they have already started to turn color mine did after the first ride the first 4-5 inches have a nice golden color to them. Cheers mate.

    Hello, it's interesting about the " crush washers ". In the days of old Honda motorcycles 1963 and later. The crush washer was a circular piece of asbestos fiber wrapped with a fine utility wire to maintain the ring shape. I think that I would look for one of those before adding a second copper crush washer. Actually, I would try to mount the new exhaust manifold without the crush washer. Also, back in the days of old Honda motorcycles, we would loosely mount the entire muffler/ exhaust system, then starting with the exhaust manifold, tighten all the parts in the remaining order. I guess during all those years until 1977, we were doing it incorrectly. Well, luckily the exhaust manifolds and mufflers did not leak. " Hey! " Which is so often shouted in unison upon the streets of Kyoto, Japan.

      Hello, my Honda CB - 160 had a of single sided upswept pipes from Webco In. On the end I had mounted two one-foot-long short reverse cone megaphones. These megaphones had a removable baffle. The baffle was recessed but had a lip to cove completely the hole in the megaphone. This baffle had roughly a dozen 1/4-inch holes spaced about and drilled into the baffle. Through the center of the baffle passed a 1/2-inch-long bolt about 5/16ths, that had a nut threaded onto it. soldered or brazed to this bolt was a loop of steel wire that was rigid and spring like tempered. This loop of steel was not circular but flattened like a very severe flat oval. This spring steel flattened oval loop (more like a racetrack than egg) was long enough to be inserted into the reverse cone of the megaphone. After inserting it the central bolt could be tightened and the tension would hold the baffle in place until it was decided it needed removal. This was an elegant solution to mount a removable baffle. The seven years that I had that Honda the baffle never fell out. " Hey! "

    • @clutchpedalreturnsprg7710
      @clutchpedalreturnsprg7710 Před 6 měsíci

      P'S. I never could ride the bike and stare at the baffles, but I always suspected that with hard charging throttle usage that this spring-loaded baffle would give a little bit and fractionally open the reverse cone just a little bit. Anyways, the bike could be driven quietly until the throttle was seriously opened.

      Hi Moog, no but I am aware of that, I always get carried away. I did let it sit before taking it for a proper run though. I am still a bit sceptical about that though as surely it has to constantly adjust anyway particularly with the temps in the UK. There could easily be 10 degrees difference between rides or even on a ride and its not like you stop and let it idle then. It would be good to sit down with an RE engineer and quiz them on that to get it to filter into my brain!

      @@DormanDiaries I think the stop and let idle is just for the learning ecu to get a "baseline" and then it'll adjust from there ! I'm not a techy type person in that respect , I can do the spanner work without stabbing my palm though ! 😂 I've done some similar mods to yours , even had both crank cases off to have them properly polished and got them back on and working but electrickery & electronics are just a no-no for my tiny brain !
