Love my G80. This review is just as I feel about my car. I live in south FloriDUH so four wheel drive is not needed (if I go off road I will probably be up side down anyhow!).

Thanks for watching, Gary. Lovely car. I just returned from South Florida and how weird is it that it's the place to be right now?

I have a 2018 G80 Sport and I'll be keeping it until Genesis makes a new Sport model. Great review. I can't wait to see/drive one of these in person.

Currently testing a G80 2.5T rear drive. They make some fine cars.

I wish this interior color was available in the US. I like the black upper dashboard and door trim. In the US we get the same brown.
Good review, there aren’t many reviewers who don’t treat their subjects like track cars.

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed. G80 Standard rwd 2.0 review coming soon!

Totally agree. People test a G80 and rev the engine to hear that race car sound. Who cares? I love the smooth quiet ride and CCFL if it sounds like my Maserati!

just bought a 2021 and it’s definitely worth the price. 2.5 prestige is more than enough engine

Absolutely stunning inside and out. So elegant and bespoke. My only concern is the curb weight like most Hyundai/Kia products. I would much rather have this warm interior over the German competition. I want one

So glad to have another one in the driveway this week. This time is the RWD!

I don't remember any hyundai and kia vehicles with curb weight issues with the exception of the Borrego and last gen G80.

The coordination between background music and language is a lot better this time than in the GV80 video.

Hyundai is lucky to have Korean soil where it loves E segment, sold more 5 series than the US. Genesis got plenty of money to invest. Lexus should work more on GS in korea instead of ES.

well, again and as always, i love brian's reviews.
i do have a question as to how it compares with the outgoing 5-year-old continental.
pretty close mpgs and fwd vs rwd.
but isn't the fwd platform giving you more interior room?

    • @BrianMakse
      @BrianMakse  Před 3 lety +1

Thanks, Paul. I’d have to check stats, but I think there’s more room in the G80 than the Continental. The Genesis is just as comfortably and its ride and handling is better sorted.

Beautiful inside and out, I miss the old 5.0 V8 but otherwise nothing wrong with the V6 model. The wheels on white one is not my style.
Otherwise, I am surprised at how Genesis is pricing these so high. Near 70k US won’t capture market share from Lexus or Germans. They need to be substantially lower priced to capture market. Makes a great used car though 😁

This is such an excellent sedan, they couldn’t ignore it for North America. Genesis will be rather successful with GV80 and soon GV70, those two putting the sedans in their shadows.
