  • In this video Matt fabricates a Cafe Motorcycle fender using all Eastwood metal fab tools including the English Wheel, Shrinker & Stretcher, Panel Beater Bag & more!
    Get English Wheel Here: www.eastwood.co...
    Get Shrinker/Stretcher Here: www.eastwood.co...
    Get Panel Beater Bag : www.eastwood.co...
    Panel Beater Sandbag with Teardrop Mallet gives support and flexibility for precision panel beating and metal shaping.
    Hand-form metal without nicks or gouges, and with minimal stretching
    All-leather, 18"x18" panel beater bag has a hook-and-loop fill opening
    Includes non-marring, 2-1/2" teardrop mallet
    Just add dry sand to the panel beater bag, and it'll support your sheet metal workpiece while "giving" under the mallet blows, to allow your metal piece to be formed into shape.

    Mmm, not sure that the preferred constant radius of this piece has been achieved. Its not offered up to a bike front wheel is it.

      One day I think .. no more .. but think about it .. how long will take you if you have made the main shape in a cnc machine and installed it in a hydraulic pressure ? 10 seconds ? :)

      As a Metalsmith all my life I’m calling “B” on this.
      First off, I don’t know why everyone thinks tuck shrinking is so important. The shrinker totally negated every bit of the tucks. Total waist of time and what a nasty finishing job.
      Here’s how you shoulda done it...make the fender extra wide, used the shrinker, then shaped the fender. After shaping just trim the shrinker scars off and wheel it smooth.
      Also you are going the wrong way if you’re wheeling end to end...go across from edge to edge too for fast shape out.
      I’ll bet someone sweated for a couple days. When I look at the finished product I wouldn’t put it on any respectable motorcycle.
      I guess I’ll have to come up with my own videos to show how to actually do it correctly...and in 1/4 the time. Oh and throw away the DA and use a 6-8” pneumatic disk sander with beeswax lube. Start with 80-100 and work your way down to 400-600 especially if you want to polish.

    hi whats the bottom die of the bead roller did you use here? thanks

    • @eastwoodco
      @eastwoodco  Před 7 lety

      The bottom die is the Outside Offset Die. The top is the Inside Offset Die. This is part of the Bead Roller Forming Die Set, which is available at Eastwood. www.eastwood.com/bead-roller-forming-dies.html

    or you could jus start wit the shrinker and save time if you measure your tire first just saying

    Is aluminium ?

      @closedeyz Před 5 lety
