    For the last two homes I've made something very similar to line my shelves. When they get dirty, dusty (especially if open shelving), you pull them down and throw them in the washer! Much better than dealing with contact paper! Great video. Thanks for teaching us about #8 batting!

    I made one for my kitchen faucet. The water dripping was going into a black counter top. I made a pattern since it had to go around the faucet. Mine was with towels and the batting i used Dollar Tree drying mat. I never thought of using cotton batting. I am redoing my kitchen and I am going to do it again. I have to do a few for my friends when they saw what I did. lol. Thank you for showing it with the cotton batting.

    I made one for my oldest daughter & she loves it. Your instructions are easy to follow in your video. I am going to make tea towels for my other daughter. The tea towels will be green cotton on both sides, different patterns in 17” x 24”.

    I looked up a video to make one since daughter has one and had purchased it.
    I liked hers so much and want to get rid of my rack and tray. They don't make the drain boards like they used to. 🇨🇦

    Mine was beautiful that I gave my daughter, but apparently the batting wasn’t thick enough because the water just sat on top. I will try again but use fleece or flannel and thicker batting, or maybe double my batting.

      I would try washing the cotton, After washing the fabric and removing any starch or sizing your cotton should be absorbent and if not Sounds like there may be some sort of coating on the fabric.

    Thank you for the tutorial. Because of the cotton material will glasses dry instead of a fog left behind is there a more breathable fabric to use forgive my ignorance new to this.

    • @mysewingroomdotca
      @mysewingroomdotca  Před 2 lety +1

      Glasses stood upside down will still have a ‘fog’ or water drops inside. After the outside is dry just stand glass right side up for a while to let any additional moisture evaporate. There really isn’t a fabric that will be any better for this use.

      @mysewingroomdotca  Před 7 měsíci

      Thank you for watching and commenting! Please like, share and subscribe if you haven't. In Dream Cotton (brand) this is the heaviest weight and it is like a piece of heavy cotton felt.

      We used Supreme: Highest loft. A hefty, very warm, and dense batting that has 1/2 pound of cotton per square yard! Great for machine quilting special projects that require extra thickness, weight, and volume. Excellent for very weighty quilts, crafts, wall hangings. Only available from Quilter's Dream stores. Thank you for the question. Currently we are sold out. But if you are in the USA I am sure you will find it easily.
