The Jamaican reggae artist first spoke on his love of music and his excitement at dropping a new album after 7 years, which he's leading off with the first single, "Get High." He has also hit the studio with brothers Stephen and Damian Marley, and while he enjoys making music with them, it's important that he maintain a sense of individuality to create his own legacy.
When asked to name which brother is the most talented of the group, Ky-Mani laughs, remarking that they never really compared each other in that way. However, older brother Stephen laid a lot of the groundwork for all of them, and ultimately they just want to make their father Bob Marley proud. - Hudba
People can say whatever they want but one thing is for sure about the Marley Family. They are super humble and seem like genuinely good people.
This is so true about them, I met Kymani, Stephen, Jr Gong, Cedella , Skip and JoMersa Marley backstage and they are so humble as a Rasta myself that one quality we are taught to be humble and Jah loving to all.

Stephen is the best; he wrote most of their song. He makes rhythms, writes lyrics, and produced.

It's crazy how bob Marleys kids cherish the "Marley" name and aren't ashamed to be associated with the name. While other children of legends or artists stay away from their parents name and try to be their own person.

Thats because alot of artists have such a strong legend that they have permanently left a mark in history. They will never be forgotten. As a result when the children are growing and when they want to follow in their parents foot steps, they are somewhat overshadowed by their parents legacy. Every where they go, people just look at them and say hey thats Bob Marley's kids or Bob Marley's kids going well just like they're father. When they just want to make a name for themselves. In my opinion all of the marley brothers have made a name for themselves and they're fathers legend no longer over shadows them.

Jr Gong is my probably my favorite but I think it's hard pressed for anyone to honestly say that it's not Steven if you pay attention he's usually the mastermind behind their best works
Stephen is the most talented and musically gifted of them all. Can sing, rap, write, produce, play multiple instruments. A lot of people say Damian but Stephen is the key to those great records especially Welcome To Jamrock and Half Way Tree as Stephen produced them both. He deserves more love, his mind control album is still timeless.

I love the answer he gave and agree that they all have their individual strengths, Strengths which I acknowledge in them individually. As to who is more talented, that's relative, because different ppl appreciate different things. Stephen is my favorite in that he seems to have the stuff that brings the family together and he exudes musical passion to almost a personification in my eyes. He produces, writes, performs, guides and mentors, so for me, he's more rounded. As far as performance, lyrics and overall style go, Damian is my guy. This does not take away from the soulfulness of Ziggy, the playfulness and honesty of Julian, and the range and depth of the Maestro, Ky-Mani. Maybe the interviewer should have asked him who was his favorite, musically, of his brothers?

When he closed his eyes while mentioning his track with Stephen, I already knew what was to come next lol @Sharren Robinson...my thoughts exactly. Stephen appears to be the one most serious and attached to his craft, although they all exude their fathers passion for music.
I know I'm 14 years later to this video. However Ky-Mani forget to include Ziggy (the eldest brother) whom also laid the ground work for the rest of his younger siblings. And we're still waiting for a Marley Brothers album which I would love to download.

Stephen Marley is the most versatile and makes the dopest beats of any producer in my opinion and his voice is vicious like an ancient warrior reborn from Jamaica. Kymani voice is like that too and he's just dope, the song Get Hi is dope. its sometimes hard to differentiate Kymani from Biggs. Julian Marley make the best herb music. BOOM DRAW is one of the best songs I ever heard. The whole Awake Album. And Damian Jr. Gong Marley is just the GOAT . The best lyricist, word smith, melodic rhymer in the world.
